He has certain limitations in the passing game - against zone coverage, average arm strength. Hurts was measured at 54mph arm velocity. Mahomes and Herbert at 55mph. Allen was at like 61.

Mahomes actually plays like he has a stronger arm than Hurts. I don't see it from Herbert.

We are talking about 1.9% assuming its an actual 55.0 vs 54.0. It could be 54.4 vs 54.7

Mahomes is a maniac. He also wins over Hurts at deep ball madness the throws look like rockets (if not recent productivity)

Hurts is pretty much there with almost everyone else.

What you are doing is relying on an 'ism that someone else told you to put down Hurts and to use the word limitations like you have some imaginary understanding on a deeper level.

You can find 20 extra guys with more arm strength than Hurts who never became even and NFL backup.

If he could not play vs a zone then all teams would zone him 24/7 so he would lose every week. He would have a 75 rating and McKee would be the QB.

Mahomes is pretty good against zone (not in the BTA bowl) because Kelce finds open spots like no one in NFL history. Its his super power.

Burrow is above average and maybe even very good vs zone. I'm guessing Jamar Chase has a lot to do with that.

The problem is he is not good enough against zone to win NFL games when his team is in a shootout.

When his team gives up 23+ and the score is close, he is all-time bad.

When Hurts team gives up 23+ and the score is close, he is all-time great.

Does AJ strike you as that Kelce / Chase type who is going to work hard and run precise routes to find the holes in that zone?

I'd love to see some film study of AJ and Goedert settling in wide open areas of zones and Hurts is just ignoring them.

If I see the evidence then I will say Hurts has to be better on those plays.

To be fair though I needed to go all the way back to our last game to find this and it did take ten seconds to find.

Funny how time flies. Just 3 years ago, The Eagles reign to the top the NFC Began. They played the Lions on week 1. Just as last week a full circle moment for Jalen returning to Lambeau. It will now be the same for AJ playing the Lions for the first time since his debut. They won in a shootout. This is after blowing out the Lions the previous season. The Eagles and Lions have a long history with the Birds leading the series 18-16-2. The Eagles are also 10-0 vs the NFC North during this new era since 2021. They've had many blowout wins for the Eagles in this series. Including the playoff Win in 90's to Donovan and the 75th Anniversary Game to the Shady Snow Bowl. The point is this matchup seems to always be a high flying affair. Since that Eagles win in Detroit, they have both been the winningest teams in the NFC over that span.

Goff came from LA and now has the Lions as one of the top teams. This year is no different. They are putting up big points and their Defense hasn't given up more than 30 points all year. I think they are a good team and this may not be the only time we see them this year since they will be in the playoff chase regardless of this outcome. There's one issue they have. It's hard to win in Philly. The Eagles are coming in 7-2, leading the Division by a lot in a tight Conference. The #1 Seed is up for grabs and the Eagles have a clear path. This game is just he next in the way of the Eagles getting the #1 Seed and Bye Week. After last week's defensive battle, I expect some fireworks. Lions will score but the Eagles will score more. AJ Brown was all the talk of the week again but now it's time to do in the field. I think the Eagles Defense continues to show and prove while the Offense has a big game. There's going to be some wind so Saquon will have to carry the load but I do see the passing game moving. Eagles continue their Dominance over the NFC North and take down the Lions.
