80's and 90's? The real pain is from enduring the late 60's and 70's....the white helmet days were the worst...nothing compares. Anyone who has survived that period of time can tell you that there has never been a better time to be an Eagles fan...

So so true.

Josh sweat got 19m$ a year despite being older and coming off a 6.5 sack year. He is projected to comp a 4th

Jaelen will be 26 at free agency day 1, already has 3 sacks in a bad system. He gets to 8 or 9 by the end of the year and he could very well get 20m a year from a bad team

Might not even need 8-9 sacks. If he has 7 and then has a good playoff run he could get paid.

Yup. I liked Chubb but his 2026 cap number is ridiculous. I think they probably asked fangio who he preferred. I’m guessing Phillips. I’m guessing cause he believes if he’s healthy and retuning back to form he has higher upside. I also wouldn’t be shocked if fangio would love to have Phillips back for 2026. Gives him a trio of smith, Phillips and hunt. Not sure that happens though.

I think part of this could be hedging on Smith who has his own injury issues. See who is worth re-signing

A guy coming off 2 injuries just needs to show he's back at the end to get paid. Guaranteed years might not be as much but someone will take a shot if he ends strong

they could wait on smith. He has the 5th year option being a first. But I also think the Eagles looked at the fact Nolan Smith doesn’t stay healthy either going back to college. So they couldn’t just go the rest of the season with BG, Smith, Hunt and uche. I also view it as the Eagles took a chance on Nolan Smith in the first round with a boatload of injuries. Worked out once he got with fangio. So a late third round pick they’re taking a chance just like they did with Smith.

Looks like Russini was right about the 3rd for him

Everyone in here was right about it being a 3rd

I'm not sure Smith is back for GB. We've heard nothing about him

Are you sure? It's not the first time Howie has brought in someone that Vic seemed to have no say in

It was reported that Phillips was "one of the guys Fangio really liked in Miami”

He’s a "Vic Fangio guy”.

Dolphins fans also hated fangio

As did their defensive players, one of which we just traded for...

Hopefully this isnt the annual mid season trade that doesnt work out.

I know he had a Instagram story saying he was back after the bye week. But that’s basically been it. I’m guessing that’s discussed by fangio and sirianni this week

Yet Phillips was never mentioned as one. Can smith, holland and trill Williams did. Their secondary hated him. Phillips was never mentioned. Neither was Chubb. I’m sure Phillips absolutely hated fangio. Meanwhile…

There’s definite risk. He’s had season ending injuries the past two years and medically retired from football while in college. He could also simply not play well. The drop from a top 100 pick in 2026 to a comp 4 is a big one in terms of a talent cliff.

Well that is depressing considering Howie's trades haven't usually worked out

I’m just curious how Vic makes it work with all these moving pieces. Three new guys added by trade, BG unretiring, and presumably a starting DE and CB coming off IR all at the same time in the middle of the season seems like a lot. Obviously some of these guys will just be depth, but it’s a pretty big roster reshuffling.

Also curious what happens with Campbell now. There’s enough guys, and he wasn’t that good at it anyway, that he shouldn’t be lining up at edge anymore. Does he take his job back from Dean or does Dean keep taking his snaps?

3 guys who were the most vocal were all secondary players. 2 of which are not even playing in the league anymore. Williams is now a pro wrestler lol. and another in holland is on the giants being bad.

More positivity

Doubs was right there to make the tackle. He gave up on being the target because he wasn't eligible to touch the ball first, but he saw the DB and was closing in. There's no way in the world that would have been a pick 6. At best it would have been a touchback. If Doubs wouldn't have committed to tackling, he would have easily had the TD after the bobbled INT attempt.

You're making way more out of it than it deserves. If that was any other down, I'd agree with you 100%. But on 4th down, that's a hail mary play.

This is a "hail Mary" where the DB is just supposed to bat it down?

And this is the actual TV footage, I didn't crop out the WR. He's out of frame.

Not the same player physically that he was back then.

I asked this, just before Dean came back. But what was Campbell‘s grade against the run? He was awesome in coverage but i never really saw what his grading was against the run. Feels like since dean came back that fangio prefers him on running situations.

Which 3rd, is it the Jets 3rd at 66ish or the Eagles 3rd at 96? or the compensation pick in the 97-105 range?

That's not what I said though. Did the board replace my post with someone else for you?

I've seen several times that someone replied to me but actually they were trying to respond to someone else. Another glitch in the board "upgrade "

So so let me get this straight…. He hated Fangio for helping him be at his best in his career. And now your argument has morphed into he isn’t the same player anymore after leading the league in pressure rate in october (don’t disagree he isn’t the same player)… but holy pivot from your initial argument of dolphins players hated fangio and you inferring he was one of them…
