Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

Like you said it is hard to find those offensive Vic Fangio type of OC‘s. Like we can say Josh McDaniels is that archetype for offense at this stage of his career. But I bet this off-season he is gonna get interviews for head coaching jobs due to his work with Maye. Even though everybody knows he’s been a disaster as a head coach.

can try someone like daboll (not endorsing it or saying to do it) but I think he could still get another head coaching job at some point in his career. Even with all the negative stuff, there’s still a chance that if he comes here and gets this offense humming. I’d bet there’s gonna be a team that says look what he can do and he learned his lesson from his first HC job. Let’s bring him in as our head coach. Josh McDaniels was a disaster in two different places and yet the eagles were super interested in him as HC

To the point of an OC getting a HC job because of their work with a young QB, it's funny because people think that equates to being a good Head Coach? The HC is responsible to oversee everything, not just the QB. The QB coach and OC should focus on the QB and the HC has to run everything. People tend to think the HC runs the offense along with the OC and that the DC does everything without the HC. And that is probably true right now with Siri, I could see Fangio yelling at him to get out of his office and let him do his thing lol. But if a position coach or OC is good with QBs why hire him to be a Head Coach? Why not just find a good QB coach to do that, and a HC to do a good job as HC?

Pretty sure he's being sarcastic

He's done that for other QBs too

"He" is not just one person. They are a team of researchers and writers working out of a farmhouse outside of Reading.

If you’re on X and want a laugh check out Josina Anderson’s tweets on Sanders. It’s every excuse in the book in about 10 different posts. So pathetic it’s laughable

To the last part the league wants OCs that are innovated and creative or worked with young QBs and helped develop them. Those OCs or positional coaches aren’t leaving their current organization unless they get a promotion. Or raise. For instance daboll worked with Allen before Josh Allen became an MVP. McDermott being a defensive coach, he likely got a lot of say and ran the offensive. To me what made daboll attractive to be a HC was he could work with young Qb and develop them as what Jedi with buffalo’s offense and Allen becoming what he did. It’s why they brought him in to be HC. Weren’t going to get another HC and then be able to pull daboll to NY into a lateral OC job.

For sure. Just going on common sense I'd think if it was bad enough to require surgery vs 4-6 weeks he wouldn't have been able to play a few downs.

It’s a pain tolerance thing. I don’t think playing on it a few snaps did much to make it worse but if he continued to play on it he would.

Does anyone have the week 12 TV map for the Eagles vs Dallas game? Trying to see if it will be broadcast in Central Florida.

You should. It is the feature game on Fox in the late window.

Doubtful Atl at NO would bump it. Miami is on a bye. TB is Sunday night. Jax is a CBS game.

I'm all for changing the philosophy the offense to not rely on TEs so much

Is that more of a product of them trying to solve the OL blocking issues?

Yeah I wasn't sure if the Tampa game was flexed to Sunday night and the black out rules that apply, etc Grok AI agrees with you that it should be broadcast in Central Florida - we should know for sure by Wed, when the TV maps come out.

I’m a big Jalen Hurts supporter but the different play caller while true is a bit obscuring the fact that the Eagles O has been largely the same since Sirriani got here

It was clear after 2023 both sides of the ball needed experienced coaching, and that's what they did. Unfortunately, Moore wasn't one of those who was a prior HC who likely had no prospects or aspirations for being a HC like with Vic. Fangio is perfect and should just retire here (and please groom a replacement). After Moore left Siri should have not made the same Brian Johnson mistake, he should have hired from the outside again.

They don't even need a top offensive mind or genius play designer. They need someone with experience who understands what to call in game situations and how to coach to the players strengths. An experienced OC would help push back on Siri's extreme conservative obsession with some balance.

Seattle's defense is pretty good. I don't think the Rams would win more with Hurts. They rely heavily on being able to pass over the middle on crossing routes. It's not a strength of Hurts' game. The Eagles would have to alter their offense to fit Stafford's strengths. I can't imagine the team would be worse off with Stafford vs. Hurts.

The Rams receivers get wide open. Anyone can throw anywhere to wide open receivers.

You might want to work on your imagination if you can't see a pocket passer with zero run ability struggling in an offense that gives up too much pressure, does not scheme targets open, and can't run consistently. For years Sean McVay's offense looked as good with Goff. They won a bunch of 13-10 games last year with Stafford with McVay scheming guys open.

This team is 8-2 and Hurts has 22 TDs with 3 turnovers. Stafford with Patullo and a banged up line would be far far worse.

The offense will look how Sirianni wants it to look. Play calling is important, but that alone is not enough to turn an offense that should be top 5 in the league into a bottom 5 in the league unit. Madden has broken peoples brains. They play Madden all day and think you can play call your way to an elite offense. Doesn't work that way. Scheme, execution, play design, overall offensive philosophy, fundamentals all factor in. Sirianni being the head coach is responsible for all of those things. And they suck at all of them.

We were lucky he didn't look at the TE coming underneath on the 4th and goal. The d-line, did only give him time to make one read.

Oh yeah, Dome and LA Stafford would really just magically be awesome in cold and wind. We can be sure of that if we just pretend.

Problem is there aren’t really career OC’s. The few that are and good already have jobs and the others just suck. Offense evolves faster than defense so the old, curmudgeonly guys already failed as HC’s and have antiquated ideas. We would be losing our minds if we have Pat Shurmur as OC.

  • "The offense is going to look how I want it to"

  • The offense looks the same and struggles with the same things that we have for years despite different OCs

  • "There are people in the locker room that are frustrated with the QB situation. Wentz 2.0"

TATE: "Damn it Patullo!"

To be as clear as possible, Patullo obviously has some issues. Sirianni has issues. The OL has issues. Hurts has issues.

That doesn't mean Hurts is the issue. All of these things can be true so let's stop pretending Hurts isn't included.

Stafford has 46 picks in 44 games vs Green Bay and Chicago.

I will break down November and later in Chicago and Green Bay later but its gonna be UGLY

People say this is the media making a big deal about the story and they are probably right when it comes to Brown, but the glue holding the wheels on this thing is they are winning. Brown probably isn't the only one frustrated and it's basically four things: the OL, Hurts, KP, and Nick. None of them are doing a great job this year and they are all linked. It wouldn't shock me if people are pointing fingers in a lot of directions.

Is Hurts going rogue because he's pissed at KP? I am not a huge fan of his but I actually like the plays he's called at the line.

Is Hurts playing timid because Nick wants him to or because he is risk adverse?

Outside of injuries which happen every year why is Stout having such a hard time with the OL?

Can we expect the OL to run block well if even we as fans know what is coming let alone an NFL defense who has watched tape?

I don't think any of us have the answers to these things, but I'm sure there is internal blame and frustration going around because they are used to winning. I wouldn't be shocked if some people on defense are pissed off as well for having to carry them so much lately. I say it all the time but it's going to wear them down.

Step 1: Hire an outside consultant. Regardless of Hurts or the OL we know KP is doing a bad job. Start there ASAP and see.

Bucs is SNF. The only thing that might be an issue is how close you are to Jacksonville because they play a 4:05 game against the Cardinals. I would think that would be the CBS single game and you will get a Fox doubleheader but sometimes it gets weird. If Fox has the rights to the Jags game they would play that if your near that market.
