The more I think about the deal, the more I've grown to like it. We still have two 3rds. We're getting an upgrade on the line. If he plays well he's still young enough that he can maybe be signed cheaply/decently (given the injury history) if Howie wants to.

If not, he's a comp pick. If he does poorly and walks, he's a comp pick.

Not too shabby

I think downside is he gets hurt so doesnt give us much this year. Then gets a lower value prove-it type deal from another team next year but still too rich for the Eagles for a player they cant count on being available thus negating the value of comp pick

I have Hulu live tv with espn unlimited and Disney plus included. Paying $90 for it. Get live espn on the app and with Hulu live. It’s getting pricy but still way cheaper than what i had with cable.

I don't need regular TV, I cut cable many years ago. I mostly watch Netflix, Peacock ($10/mo), Paramount ($2.50/mo)and Prime Video (included with Prime shipping), and then Disney/Hulu but not live. I don't watch any network TV shows they are all garbage. And MNF also plays on ABC so I can get that on my HD antenna. For me being out of state, it's all the Fox 1pm games I have to use uh, certain sites, to be able to watch. That's why I like the night games, I see them in streaming great quality on Peacock, Prime and any AFC games that are local are on Paramount. I'm now going to be able to see 76ers games on Prime and Peacock. I don't have TBS or any of those cable channels so never get to see them, baseball playoffs, etc. There are so many fans that move around the country and around the world, that packages per team make sense but all the different companies would have to negotiate and get their cut.

He traded at lunchtime with a colleague. A ham sandwich for a burrito. A real upgrade!

I'm starting to wonder how the Eagles feel about Nolan Smith and if he actually will be back soon. I know and have said myself that he indicated on social media that he'd be back for Green Bay. But Phillips plays predominately left, the same as Nolan Smith. It will be another interesting wrinkle to see how Vic gets all these guys on the field.

If Smith was playing and productive, I don't think the team would have traded for him. I don't know if they are worried about his ability to comeback and play. He hasn't been able to stay healthy and without him they are definitely lacking at the position. I can't imagine that Smith will not get opportunities but it wouldn't surprise me if Smith's snaps weren't lower than Phillips.

I’ve been hearing good things about Phillips - he’s a "high motor guy” "great against the run” "doesn’t stop until the whistle is blown”

Also heard he’s a "good/high character” guy.

Sounds a lot like another guy who we’re just getting back.

Jerry Jones on his show:

We made a trade.

Also Jerry Jones.

We made a trade but we're actually making it tomorrow.

Maybe idk. Living in Mexico half the year, I have used hacked firesticks and they never worked consistently. All I know if that this thing works. Alot of expats where I live have changed over and are happy.

If, for some reason, there is buffering on the NFL game channel, you can easily find the game on the locals and switch over but that is a rare occurrence. Most important is the internet speed. I switched to starlink down there and rarely have any issues.

Edit: I have one at my house in New Mexico as well and it works great

I searched Amazon for the item, and there are several results. And none of them have any product description and no ratings/reviews. If I saw that apart from your recommendation it would look like a scam. Here's one of the links.

What exactly does this do and what does internet have to do with it? I have an HD antenna like the old school one but you plug the coaxial cable into the TV and have to set the antenna near the window. I've tried paying for more expensive ones, but I only get ABC, I can't get NBC, CBS or Fox (at my old house I got Fox but not the others, they say it's tree lines or whatever).

I'd be happy to buy something that will give me all 4 networks so I can watch local live sports if it works. But what you're describing also sounds like there are other channels besides the local, when you say "NFL Channel" what does that mean compared to the local Fox and CBS airing NFL games?

Find out tomorrow if they open his practice window. Interesting they didn’t open Smith’s with Cooper and Bennett. Not sure that means that Smith wasn’t ready but it sure suggests that. Could that mean even if they open his window, Smith doesn’t get activated immediately? I suspect that is a real possibility.

Bennett has only one week on his window. Was funny they opened and then kept him in the window during the bye. I would suspect there is a 50/50 chance Bennett stays on IR for the season if Alexander looks viable at practice this week.

Although I don’t think they’re allowed to.

Doesn’t matter. Dallas isn’t a player away on defense anyways. He wouldn’t solve their problems

Agreed, and it will eat up Cap for them. Howie preserved approximately $6 million of Cap in the trade. He plays chess while Dallas plays checkers.

We really won the bye week when you think about it. Giants, Commies, Lions and Packers all lost which helps our seeding. We'll see what happens with the Cowboys tonight but I'd expect them to win. Not that it matters because of AFC but the Colts lost and they were getting hype on a weak schedule and are coming down to reality. And the Chiefs lost, they always have battles with the Bills but I enjoy seeing them lose. Plus the trades, and guys getting back healthy.

I can see a future where the league has two bye weeks to help teams get healthy and rest, especially if they're going to push more international games.

Well it’s meaningless speculation until we see who actually moves and what they moved for. I may not and do not care for Phillips, but unless other players get moved, for all we know, he was the only edge that was available.

But as far as other names, I prefer Chase Young as a not that good and disappointing edge who still has some upside and Chubb as a better player. Are either actually available? Who knows…

With Chubb the contract dollars were/are a big impediment to a trade.

Yeah, there are numerous versions on Amazon. I would just make sure to get one that is made by Vsee.

It is a streaming box so you need good internet service.

So they have all the games sorted out under NFL, NBA, MLB etc. They also have all local channels from around the country. So, if for some reason the channel under NFL has an issue, you cam easily switch to the local channel group and find it on another channel.

It is on Amazon so if you buy and dont like for some reason, you can return within 30 days.

Ah, thanks. So I'm clear: this gives you access to local sports anywhere in the country on those free networks? So my local Fox that isn't airing the Eagles game but some other game, I'd be able to watch the Eagles game being broadcast in Philly? Does it show sports on cable channels like TBS and those types too?
