I do get on Jalen a good bit, but it's born in very specific concerns. I think him and Sirianni's scheme tree have a poor mutual match-up with each other because Hurts moved away from timing throws (which he was pretty good at in 2022, then just...stopped) and I think that makes our offensive staff's lives a lot harder. But I don't think having a good supporting cast makes you bad, that doesn't make sense. It DOES cause bad tendencies sometimes though, like for example Jalen's dealt with abnormally good protection in most years since he was at Alabama, so he doesn't seem to feel very pressed to throw, but that doesn't mean that can't be fixed if someone gets on him to work on it.

Over the past 5 weeks I've hit at a 50-17 record straight-up ..... but why do I keep taking the f'n Chargers??? I know they have a winning record but, man, they let me down at the worst times.

Could be interesting.

I wonder if it is his decision to put two TEs out there that can't block a lick. If not you would think he would go to Patullo/Siri and tell them it is nuts. The run game has been awful. Part of that is injuries but a lot has to do with scheme and design and I wonder how much of that is on Stout.Yep, pointed this out too. Pretty sure Stout has been known to punch above his weight too, like he knows he's so senior that he doesn't need to give a rat's ass about formalities, so he'd very likely say something about it if he wasn't involved? I don't think the whole scheme is developed by the OC, or even Nick, but someone better with film would need to go check differences on the running game, formations, motion, that kind of thing.

He wasn't lined up there from the starthttps://x.com/MySportsUpdate/status/1990257892881260652?s=20It's the reaction from Steen that's the issue. It's too delayed. It's only an NZ infraction if the OL directly opposite the defender reacts to the movement immediately. Steen failed the latter qualification. Beyond that, it's really dumb to risk this on such a high percentage play. Just let the snap play out and either they get the NZ infraction if the defender doesn't reset, or if he does, we likely get the first anyway.

You don't allow the league to catch up, and winning only lasts until you're no longer winning. It's important to stay hungry, and remember you have to fight to stay out in front. We've had a great defensive outing in many games the last season and a half which have resulted in limiting the floor of the Eagles team, but in the playoffs it's one and done. If the offense doesn't figure it out one game, and the defense has a letdown, it's all over.

The 2018 Defending Champion Eagles were 4-6 After eleven weeks and looking at missing the playoffs. Luckily Saint Nick saved the season that year. This is a better team than the 2018 Eagles on both sides of the ball. Nick Foles started the season as the QB and people understood his limitations. Alshon was good but not great. Agholor was inconsistent. The RBs were underwhelming. Ertz had a great season for them. Defensively, they had elite interior d-line play but they really didn't have the CBs to play defense the way Schwartz wanted them to play. Coincidentally, Lane Johnson was 28 that season and Jason Peters was 36. This season Mailata is 28 and Lane is almost 36.

Players are accountable for film study and are typically brought into meetings to review game film as a group for a de-brief after games. Coaches need to pour over more game film than the players do, so they're accountable for recognizing what players can and cannot do. As has been said in here a bunch -- it's on the coaches to put the players into the best position to succeed.Surely, they can see that Tank Bigsby has a 9.2 ypr average on 17 carries while Barkley has a 3.8 ypr average on 175 carries. They need to analyze Bigsby's carries to understand what's working. Are the defenses playing a lighter box when he's on the field? Is he breaking more tackles? Barkley ran for 2,000+ yards last season, but the NFL is Not For Long -- every season is different, so they need to coach Barkley as though he's just arrived. If there's something he's not doing, he needs to be coached on it. Same with the WRs. Brown needs to be coached up on how to improve his 58.5% catch percentage. Obviously, same with the QB; Hurts has a lot of really good metrics, but the overall production of the offense is down -- they're 16th in points scored. Too many 3-and-outs, those need to be eliminated.

So basically the QB situation was still in flux where as Jalen has been our starter the last 5 years. The 2018 team despite it's struggles were an Alshon pass away from potentially upsetting the Saints, we basically brought everyone back but took a huge step back. 13-3 #1 Seed to 9-7 Wild Card. Again defending a title is hard. No NFC Team has gone back to back since the Cowboys. Seahawks got the closet.
