Tbh i thought when they showed him leaving the sideline early he might have a concussion. simply cause he went to the tent and came out wasn’t limping or looking like he was in pain. If i remember correctly with a concussion you can’t stay on the sidelines. With an injury you can come back to the sideline like lane has before

Just weird the team never announced he was being evaluated for one. It happened late in the game but still missed 11 snaps

At least we aren't the Falcons.

So, Dallas has a day less rest. It should be an easy win, but you never know against rivals

Noting is easy with this offense 😩

Maybe Daboll is already consulting...starting with how to handle concussions. 😂

Alright, decompressing after a long day....here's my guide for those who care to fixing the offense, which absolutely can be done.

  1. Resolve to fix the offense. There is, understandably, a strong following to not do anything at 8-2 as defending SB champs as we have the division and conference at our feet. This is the one area where AJ Brown was very, very right. Sure, this has already been enough to beat the Chiefs and the 3 best teams in the NFC...but it won't be enough to do it consecutively in the playoffs. Luck will run out if they can't score. They need to do something, change something.

  2. Rest Barkley. Barkley was the best player in the NFL last year. This year, he's providing replacement level production for an average running game. Yes, much of that is on the OL. BUT...not all of it is on the OL...and what's the saying?...accept the things you can't change and change the things you can. Barkley has a lot of miles. A few less carries at a 3.8 yard clip aren't going to cost them the game against Dallas or anyone else. Barkley needs exceptionally fresh legs for the playoffs. His stats are already garbage this year, so there's no need to repeat last year's silly debate about using him heavily. Go with a full on rotation. Come playoff time, maybe 2024 Barkley shows up.

  3. Review the return to play criteria for the OL. The Lane issue has already been put to bed. He's basically out until the playoffs. His injury is a perverse blessing in disguise. He was playing poorly, was injured, and he and the staff couldn't make the tough decision to hold him out. Now they are forced to keep him on ice until it matters. Cam Jurgens shouldn't return to the lineup until he practices in pads and can actually move and anchor....getting medically cleared isn't good enough. Toth and Fred Johnson practicing with the 1's all week and playing for an entire game will be an upgrade. And then the OL will get upgraded again late in the season when their real starters return viably healthy. See how the OL looks with them against Dallas. And give Dickerson an honest evaluation. Because if the OL holds up well against Dallas and Dickerson is the hobbling weak link, he's next. No one wants to replace 3 starters, but at some point just having guys that aren't limping represents an upgrade. Bottom line: these guys failed to play through it at an acceptable level and failed to get healthy as the season went on. Time to make a change. They sit until they more closely resemble themselves. This will benefit the OL immediately and will give them late season upside of getting back to who they used to be. It's never happening if they just keep forging ahead.

  4. Cut the 12 personnel BS. I famously hate 12 personnel. I hated it when we had 2 possession WRs in Alshon Jeffery/JJAW and it created a congested offense. I hate it now when we have a running offense and our TE2 doesn't get involved in the passing game and can't block. It's like playing with 10 men on offense and being shorthanded every play in this alignment. Put players on the field that you will use.

  5. In reference to #4, use all the players you have on the field. That means come out throwing to Jahan Dotson. He usually answers the bell when called upon. This offense is easy to match up against. The 11th player is just completely neglected. You have a #3 WR that never gets the ball or gets looks. Throw your crappiest DB on him. You have a TE2 that can't block a LB and never gets looks. Doesn't need to be accounted for in coverage or on the ground. Make the defense pay attention to every player on the field. If they know you'll throw to Dotson 5 times in a half, that's going to change the coverage the Smith and Brown see. Teams think they have this offense completely figured out, and that will turn it upside down.

  6. Take the muzzle off Hurts. I want to see INTs. What? Am I nuts? In my job, when a tumor is invading into a draining blood vessel, you actually need to keep going until you get bleeding. You progress slowly, gradually...that way when you create and opening and do get the bleeding, you can deal with it, stop, and establish that as your reference and boundary point. If the whole point of this offense, as so many have said lately, is to not turn the ball over...then they need to use the balance of this season to figure out exactly how far they can push it before the bleeding/int's starts. Gradually increase the passing volume, route complexity, aggressiveness, and field space they use in the passing game. Every game. When Hurts starts tossing INTs, walk it back. But don't play scared in November when you know you have a 100% chance of winning the division regardless and a poor chance of winning the SB if you do not evolve.

😆

Hurts handles these press conferences well pretty much every time. Half the job of playing in this town is dealing with this crap and I’ve always thought he deals with it like a CEO. He’s always been the adult in the room.

Dollar store version of Peyton Hillis.

you could take every team and predict they won’t win the Super Bowl because of their biggest current flaw and you’d be right 31 out of 32 times. Except you really wouldn’t because sometimes a team loses in the playoffs for a different reason but let’s face it no one ever cares about these media predictions a few days after they’re made. It’s just content filler

If its coaching, its terrible coaching.

If its Hurts not liking winning and big plays... yeah, its really not that. (but if it was, its still bad coaching)

I'm all for not throwing that desperation 3rd and 8-10 pass against a zone where 4 defenders have a chance for the ball (you see that throw 10x a week from lesser QBs) but crossers and slants and Goeddert finding that open spot 15 yards downfield? No way is that Hurts pulling a DeSean Jackson and not feeling like being a complete player.

I don’t think Jalen and AJ have a good relationship any more but I don’t think that’s the problem with the offense. Jalen has thrown AJ the ball on key 4th downs several times. I don’t think he’s avoiding throwing other times for personal reasons

When two bros having a falling out, it's usually over 1 of 2 things, money or women.

I doubt it's money.

Manning answers his phone.

"Hey Jalen, how's it going?"

"Hey Peyton, I'm looking for some help. Can you tell me how I can avoid throwing over the middle when my coaches tell me to?

Money is nice. Championships are better. But the real prize is passing Jacoby Brissett for lowest career interception percent"

"I can't help you with that one. I threw 276 of them and 31 of them went to the house."

"You could call A-A-Ron but..."

"Yeah, no way! Thanks anyway"

"While you got me do you want to go over how I dealt with zone coverage?"

"Nah, I'll just hold the ball and take sacks. Then I will just stumble into another win like Mr Magoo! Catch you later!"

So your opinion here is that newly married Jalen and newly engaged AJ are fighting over a woman?

And is this because you are so certain that a diva WR could never possibly think that his good contract is not good enough?

This reply is on point

Hurts says criticism goes with the territory, but no one has brought their frustration to him directly.

It’s neither. It’s the fact that AJ can’t deal with Hurts being the face of this franchise, and one of the faces of the entire league.

This all started in the last couple of years after Hurts nearly won the MVP, got major endorsement deals, became the face of Jordan brand, etc.

Add to that the fact that Hurts doesn’t cater to AJ’s whining on the field or off, and AJ (with his ego) is in Hell right now. Jealous, unproductive, not the main character, and there’s nothing he can do about any of it.
