He’s dumber than we all thought

I can only assume the guy wearing his jersey is some social media personality. He sounds even dumber. He's walking right next to Cam, can clearly hear what's around him and says

"he he he, they said that?" Dude you're right there. I can't imagine how bad this whole video was.

It’s neither. It’s the fact that AJ can’t deal with Hurts being the face of this franchise, and one of the faces of the entire league.

This all started in the last couple of years after Hurts nearly won the MVP, got major endorsement deals, became the face of Jordan brand, etc.

Add to that the fact that Hurts doesn’t cater to AJ’s whining on the field or off, and AJ (with his ego) is in Hell right now. Jealous, unproductive, not the main character, and there’s nothing he can do about any of it.

The declining knee theory combined with him realizing he won't be getting HoF numbers sounds plausible

I don’t think Jalen and AJ have a good relationship any more but I don’t think that’s the problem with the offense. Jalen has thrown AJ the ball on key 4th downs several times. I don’t think he’s avoiding throwing other times for personal reasons

Again, its never been picked up in the media but it is only AJ that's struggling for yards, Smith was on a career year pace for yardage before we were trying to force it to AJ on Sunday and Goedert is having a career year for TD's.

Are our route concepts stale and predictable? Yes they are, but two of our top 3 targets were doing OK and getting their numbers, it's one guy who's having a bad year and somehow the only person whose fault it can't be is his.

Review the return to play criteria for the OL. The Lane issue has already been put to bed. He's basically out until the playoffs. His injury is a perverse blessing in disguise. He was playing poorly, was injured, and he and the staff couldn't make the tough decision to hold him out. Now they are forced to keep him on ice until it matters. Cam Jurgens shouldn't return to the lineup until he practices in pads and can actually move and anchor....getting medically cleared isn't good enough. Toth and Fred Johnson practicing with the 1's all week and playing for an entire game will be an upgrade. And then the OL will get upgraded again late in the season when their real starters return viably healthy. See how the OL looks with them against Dallas. And give Dickerson an honest evaluation. Because if the OL holds up well against Dallas and Dickerson is the hobbling weak link, he's next. No one wants to replace 3 starters, but at some point just having guys that aren't limping represents an upgrade. Bottom line: these guys failed to play through it at an acceptable level and failed to get healthy as the season went on. Time to make a change. They sit until they more closely resemble themselves. This will benefit the OL immediately and will give them late season upside of getting back to who they used to be. It's never happening if they just keep forging ahead.

It's not sexy, but I think we're about to see a heavy OL investment in the draft the next 2 years. Dickerson is gone after next year, if not earlier. He's hurting the team more than he's helping at this point in his career. I don't think he will ever be fully healthy. He's a massive human playing on rebuilt knees. It's catching up to him and is going to impact him more and more. He was playing on borrowed time the minute he was drafted. The Eagles are looking to at 5-6 years, 3 Pro Bowls at least 2 SB appearances and 1 Lombardi with Dickerson on the team with 2025 still unfinished. No complaints there. He's everything you want in an OL and in the locker room, his body is just failing him. He's a warrior.

I'd shut down Jurgens for the year to be honest. Let him get healthy for the rest of his career. He never got a chance to fully recover from his back and his play has impacted the entire OL this year. Give me a healthy Toth over gimpy Jurgens right now. It's best for the team.

The Eagles have to flip the rookie contracts on defense to rookie contracts on offense to offset the upcoming quarter of a billion dollars the defense is about to get. It doesn't all have to be done this year, but over the next 2 years, I think we're going to see a complete overhaul of the OL with Mailata and Jurgens being the holdovers.

They need to find their Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo's on the OL.

Thinking about the OL some more and the RT position specifically. The Eagles just opened the practice window for Myles Hinton. They like him, but he's a pure LT. He's never played RT. Neither has Jordan Mailata, but I wonder if Lane Johnson retires this year, could Mailata move to RT? It think it would extend his career and take some of the load off of him with the backside edge rushers. He's almost 29 already which is crazy to think about. Hinton could be LT of the future with Mailata at RT.

It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out. Just the more I think about it, the more I think this OL is about to go through a lot of changes.

Dickerson's in season problems this year have been nothing to do with his meniscus repair in training camp, he's suffered back and ankle injuries, and the ankle was a result of getting rolled up on against Denver, he admits himself he's not been good enough because of a shortened pre season and playing through injury but he also said that he felt close to 100% for the Denver game and it was just bad luck that he got landed on.

If his problems were all knee then I'd be more concerned but it's just dings, he's played every game bar dead rubbers since Seumalo went out the year he was drafted.

Jurgens is a bigger concern because he is missing games.

They might not be the same injury, but I think they can all be related. You put more pressure on other places when you compensate not being fully healthy. Playing every game when you're injured and not helping the team is worse than missing games IMO.

I asked a while ago and it went unanswered. When is separation measured? Because the entire EMB incorrectly thought Tee Higgins couldnt separate. What they missed was how open he was before the ball got there. And how the bad throws helped the DB close down gaps. If separation is being measured when the ball is thrown, or when the ball arrives, thats more of a detriment on Hurts' lateness with the ball.

The non-Hurts critique answer is the obvious one thats already been stated in here today. DBs know he is only running hitches out there. How you gonna get open when the DB knows your route every single time and its a simple hitch?

Some of us have noticed him wide open a lot but the ball doesnt come his way.

He has not lost a step. His routes are predictable, and his QB stinks.

Isn't it the same QB that was throwing him the ball when he went for over 1400 yards 2 years straight and then 1080 off 13 games last year?

Did the QB regress? If Hurts' regressed why are Smith's yards more than holding up? Why is Goedert getting TD's and yards? It's a small sample but why is Dotson 20 yards off his season total last year after 10 games? Are they not running the same offense and limited route tree that AJ is? Why is AJ suffering more than them, given they all share the same stinky QB?

He's got to stick to his dumb schtick about Hurts.

We're definitely drafting an OL with one of the first 2 picks. Frankly, we need more depth on the OL so we CAN sit a Jurgens or Dickerson if they get hurt.

When two bros having a falling out, it's usually over 1 of 2 things, money or women.

I doubt it's money.

I disagree. There's no way that a straight-laced guy like Hurts would make moves on AJ's woman.

So the most likely reason is money. AJ thinks his numbers going down due to the conservative offense is going to hurt his next contract.

Good press conference from Jalen. It's hard to repeat in the NFL. We all know the media's goal is drama for ratings and clicks. Jalen will continue to block out the noise and prove his haters wrong that never believed him anyways and are still doubling down even though they were wrong all along. Keep doing you Jalen, let's take this thing back February 8th. Back To Back NFC Beast Champs, #1 Seed, Home Field Advantage. Let's go.

Its not the money. And its not really about the same woman. Its that the women may have stolen them from each other.

The current young crop of OL on the team consists of Drew Kendall, Myles Hinton, Willie Lampkin, Cameron Williams, Hollins Pierce and Jake Majors. That's 2 draft picks, 2 UDFA, 1 waiver claim and one PS signee.

I'd like to see Stoutland get 1 starter out of that bunch and 1 or 2 high end backups. Probably unrealistic expectations, but it's time for Stoutland U to produce some new graduates.

I'd love to see the Eagles get some young guys on both OL/DL get some playing time if/when they wrap up home field.

The upgrade we didn't know we needed

baldy is usually pretty good with lane stuff over the years

Ya, can’t remember his name but he’s one of those ‘shock content’ people. Posts himself doing ‘pranks’ which is really just f’n with people and then running and hiding behind his security team when he’s about the get the brakes beat out of him.

I kind of agree with most of this, but it's not accurate to say that Mailata has never played right tackle. There was a point early in his development where he was a swing tackle. I'm certain he played some RT in the preseason. And wasn't his very first NFL action on the right side in a game against the Redskins where Jack Driscoll was injured?

Even I can tell which one is the Eagles O

But credit where its due, the red zone for the Eagles is good.

"At this point in his career" - Dickerson. Pretty reactionary here.

He was one of the best OGs in football last season and suffered a knee injury very late in last season. Let's not act like the guy has been injury plagued and declining for 5 years. I'm sure with an offseason of rest he'll be back to his usual self next season and we've already seen him get back to that in recent weeks when he's been much better.
