I'm pointing at the new TE coach for the problems there this year. He came from college where you can play with small TEs, he wanted to draft the Bowling Green kid who's in that mold, we rostered 2 receiving TEs rather than getting a Jack Stoll type... a) reality check, the pro game is different b) this is the Philadelphia eagles with a passing offense that is a breed apart. Boo this man!

But credit where its due, the red zone for the Eagles is good.

To be fair he plastered the shirt numbers all over it, You could describe the pictures to a blind Eagles fan and they'd spot which was ours.

He's not new, he's been here from the beginning with Sirianni and with him in Indy before that.

You are thinking of the QB coach, Scot Loeffler

I've been saying this for years. These are human beings, they're not all going to be perfect and get along. There are different personalities, and there's a lot of emotion and intensity in being top performers with high standards and expectations.

Think about your job, or if you played sports. You don't always get along with everyone and are friends. But you do your job and the company/team can have success. Documentaries show us how great players and great teams have had drama and people that didn't get along...on the way to winning championships.

Fans and media put unrealistic expectations on sports teams. And look for every bit of drama and magnify it. Good organizations and good people know how to handle and manage these things, and come together to do the job.

It’s neither. It’s the fact that AJ can’t deal with Hurts being the face of this franchise, and one of the faces of the entire league.

This all started in the last couple of years after Hurts nearly won the MVP, got major endorsement deals, became the face of Jordan brand, etc.

Add to that the fact that Hurts doesn’t cater to AJ’s whining on the field or off, and AJ (with his ego) is in Hell right now. Jealous, unproductive, not the main character, and there’s nothing he can do about any of it.

I don’t believe it’s that. AJ wants to be considered one of the greats at his position and I believe he feels he can’t do that with hurts and this offense anymore. He has said time and time again he wants to contribute and that’s just not happening in this offense. I’d be frustrated too if my goals didn’t align with my work.

Yeah him - he's the one. <grab pitchfork>

There has never been any evidence that Brown and Hurts dislike each other. Just that they aren't as close. Everything else is speculation and innuendo. Nothing tangible and vague stuff that people have run with and filled in their own narratives.

Those routes are there. They arent working. Sometimes its covered because of the way defenses have adjusted to play us. Other times, he is open and Hurts isnt throwing it.

Seems like Devonta and even Dotson are able to get open. I realize AJ probably sees more coverage his way at times but even when he’s one on one it seems the defender is all over him. Even on his catches. It didn’t used to be that way. Can’t all be Hiurts/KP can it?

yes. it can.

"At this point in his career" - Dickerson. Pretty reactionary here.

He was one of the best OGs in football last season and suffered a knee injury very late in last season. Let's not act like the guy has been injury plagued and declining for 5 years. I'm sure with an offseason of rest he'll be back to his usual self next season and we've already seen him get back to that in recent weeks when he's been much better.

I don't think it's reactionary at all. There were conversations when he was drafted regarding how long his career would be and what to expect out of him. He got a 2nd contract here. He'll be going in to year 6 next year at 28.

He battled through the playoffs last year. I'm not taking anything away from what he's been. I gave him all the props over his 5 years, mentioning his 3 PB, 2 SB and 1 SB ring. He's been everything you want. The fact of the matter is he's played through injuries every year. He might not miss games, but he's been injured, enough that when Merrill and Mike borderline joke about it when he gets hurt, saying he's due an injury this game. I give him all the credit in the room. He's a warrior. Love the attitude. I just don't think it's sustainable to continue playing like that. We're seeing it this year. His play is 100% being effected by trying to play through injuries. It impacts the entire OL. One half step behind on a pull, or slow to react on a stunt can change everything about a play.

Remember, he tore both ACL's in college and had season ending injuries to both ankles. He's listed at 330, but he looks closer to 350. That's a massive amount of weight to continue to play at a high level after all of those injuries.

Again, I'm looking at this from a very objective big picture point of view. The rookie contracts across the board on defense have given the Eagles the ability to lock up 10 out of 11 offensive starters at top performing contacts (at the time of signing). If the Eagles want to lock up this young core on defense, they are going to need much smaller contracts on the offensive side of the ball. Whose contracts can they restructure or get out of early? I think Landon's situation is going to be one to keep an eye on either this or next year. He has an out after 2026. There are going to be some very difficult decisions. Players we love are going to get released/traded. They can't pay everyone.

I'm loving this defense and want to keep as much of it intact as they can. I think this will be a two year process of extensions, restructures and new contracts all together. I know some guys are going to walk, it's inevitable.

Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Nakobe Dean. Those are homegrown guys that I think need to be Eagles for the next 5 years+ and I think they are locks. That's the main core.

Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Jaelen Phillips, Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt are next. This is where some will walk, some will stay. I wouldn't be surprised to Nolan Smith is dangled as trade bait if Phillips comes back. We'll see one of Davis/Ojomo back.

Reed Blankenship, you're not forgotten, I just think he played his cards wrong getting a new agent and is looking to cash in. I'd rather spend on the DL and CB before safety.

This offseason was the precursor to what's next. We saw guys walk with these impending moves as the reason they weren't brought back. The next phase is who that money is spent on and how they find more money. Will be interesting to watch and I'm excited to see how it all plays out.

Feel like that’s part of playing with AJ. Teams sway coverage his way so it allows things to open up for the other guys.

We're definitely drafting an OL with one of the first 2 picks. Frankly, we need more depth on the OL so we CAN sit a Jurgens or Dickerson if they get hurt.

I worry we're going to be that team that's always saying they're great when they're healthy

But they're always injured

May have been better for the future to have just not extended

We've had two "stories" come out in the past week and all they are, is people rehashing old narratives. But they're treated like it's something new. DeSean's comments are just what BG said in December of 2024, and Derrick Gunn is just repeating what we've heard off and on the last few seasons.

But... "NEW REPORTS!"

None of this is new.

The answer is because a diva WR in decline and people on a message board who have always hated him from the start want him to.

If all he wants to do is contribute, then why is he whining like a chick after 120 yards, 2 TDs, and a win?

I’m with you and get it, but it’s hard for several of us normal folks to relate to professional athletes, let alone have the ability to be sympathetic towards them.

In AJ Brown’s case…

28 years old, makes $30 mil a year, has played in two Super Bowls in 3 years (winning 1), was 2nd team all-pro last season, his team is currently 8-2 and the top seed in the NFC.

Yeah stfu, grow a pair, and play ball.

If he’s having serious mental health issues then take some time away and get it sorted out.

Why does Jalen need to take more risks? Well, because this OL isn't close to what we had in 2021-2024. It's one thing to expect 175yds of total offense from your QB to be adequate, when the ground game is working... BUT when we struggle to get 100yds rushing, that additional 75yds of production has to come from somewhere.

We have the best record in the NFC with wins over the top teams in the league. We don't need him to do anything further beyond what he has done except when the time calls for it late in a game.

What would be nice though is if the diva that is demanding the ball stopped quitting on routes and if the OC put together gameplay that other teams are finding so easy to predict. Also get Grant Calciterra off the field and put someone in there that can actually block and maybe the running game won't be as ineffective. Also while we are at it, utilize Tank more while giving Barkley less touches.

JJ McCarthy is so bad

I get that. I'm also referring to "reports" that Jalen Hurts is aloof or something and not buddies with everyone. We criticize people because they have money and are successful...if any of us were that successful and had money we would be at risk for the same behavior. Having fame and money goes along with ego and striving for excellence. Some people handle it with humility, others are vocal and showy about it. Some players flaunt their money, others don't. You see it with Hollywood, the final product of a movie or show might be great and fans don't know until later that there were issues on the set, people on the cast or crew had problems with each other.

It's very easy for us to judge them. But then look in the mirror and think about how you act at your job. Many of us are not doing our jobs and instead posting about our sports team on the internet. People slack off at work, don't work as hard for a manager they don't like, get extra motivated for certain reasons like trying to get a promotion or bonus. Then we criticize athletes and celebrities because of envy. They have a lot of money, so they should be perfect and never complain about anything. That's unrealistic. Any of us bums sitting on the couch watching these games, if we were put into a situation with a lot of money and fame we'd face the same realities, and others would be critical of us and expect perfection just because of the salary.
