The lines connecting a defender to an eligible receiver would be in man coverage on that receiver. Everyone else is free to rush the passer. If one of those eligible players stays in to block, most of the time, that's an automatic dog read and that coverage player then comes on the blitz too.

I kind of brought this up earlier in the week. I figured he’d be put on IR today. But If they don’t put him on IR this weekend, maybe the swelling went down and it isn’t as bad. Still I can’t imagine him being back for the Bears or the Chargers game. But the Raiders game is almost a month to the day that he hurt the foot. He’d have missed 3 games. That said really don’t think we need him for that Raiders game. I still think commanders game would make sense if his foot is better and if Daniels is playing. frankly think the commanders should shut him down if they lose to Denver out of the bye. At 3-9 you definitely aren’t making the playoffs and he’s dealt with multiple different injuries

Can they retroactive the IR if he sits out this week? Like if the swelling goes down then he gets an xray and it reveals 4-6 week injury then could retroactive to this week’s game. Otherwise only thing I can think of is maybe they thought initially it was a lisfranc and now think it’s just a contusion (find this really hard to believe though) or they think there’s a shot he returns for raiders game (i find that hard to believe if it’s a lisfranc).

Go back and watch how awesome they were in the first half of games in 2022.

Seeing as the Eagles have had Brown and Smith...how many WR's that were free agents have the Eagles gone after (I'll take "None" for $2,000 Alex") that didn't want to sign here and went elsewhere because of Hurts? See....isn't this silly. I have no clue...and neither do you.

No they can’t retro it.

I think this is just a Howie thing. They are healthy so don’t need any call ups and don’t need to activate Lampkin or Hinton yet so they don’t need to make a move. The way Schefter talked about it was likely done for the regular season and undetermined about the playoffs until they can get an x ray, so maybe that’s what the Eagles think too and it doesn’t matter if they put him on IR now or next week. Lampkins window ends on Thanksgiving so they will have to do a roster move at some point next week to open a spot for him.

Or I’m just dumb. Still feels silly to rush him back for the Raiders

The Raiders may not win another game. They’ve completely mailed it in. I want to see Lampkin as an extra blocker in there and see how the guy does.

You often hear free agents comment that they were drawn to a team to play with a QB when there is an elite one.

That doesn't happen for Hurts. We do know that.
