It seems the NFL changed the Thanksgiving times this year? I could have sworn the Thanksgiving games kicked off at 12:30 instead of 1 but this year they kickoff at 1.

They all said it was coaching. They seemed pissed because they know talent is being wasted. Even mild mannered Alex Smith was worked up about it. It is pretty striking when you watch the All-22 and see the middle of the filed virtually empty.

TLDNR: Not really on the routes AFAIK, it was more of the circumstances and his willingness to accept bad risk.

That season was really 3 parts:

Part 1: MVP Level Hurts

Through 11 games Hurts was on a pace for 4168 passing yards 633 rushing yards and 45 TDs

MVP Lamar had 3678 passing 821 rushing and 29 TDs for example.

He was the best player in the league (through 11 games) on a schedule much more difficult than 2025 Maye/Stafford.

He was throwing 32.5 passes a game in part because he had to with a really bad D on the other side.

He was far superior to Burrow on similar teams at winning shootouts:

• 34-28

• 34-31

• 38-31

• 28-23

• 37-34

His interception % was 2.3% through 11 games.

3 of those 10 picks came in a really bad performance vs the Jets (3 picks where 2 is probably a win)

I can't tell you much about that game because I never want to see a single play from it again.

Part 2: The Wrecking Balls

Then the entire organization was demolished by the 2 best talent regular season teams.

He did not throw a pick in those games but he was totally outmatched vs those defenses on those days (as was the entire organization)

Part 3: Looking for Answers and Not Finding Them

He took a far more aggressive approach the rest of the way like going 40/60 ball deep vs Seattle.

He had 5 picks in 4 games and a 4.6% interception rate for those games.

He was throwing into double coverage and risking more tight coverage throws in those games.

I think last week Jalen was like 10/31, which produces a paltry average. But probably half of those are TPs, so my guess is he might average 6yds/carry on 5 attempts. Does that sample seem representative of his 2022 rushing effort, maybe? I felt like there were more explosive plays mixed in back then, as he had more opportunities vs man. DET played a lot of man coverage last week due to both tendency and the weather, but Jalen didn’t really push the point much with his legs.

In any case, just like almost all other QBs, Hurts ability to run is diminishing as the years go by though he's still really good at this stage. Many of the others have developed their ability as a pocket passer. Guys like Vince Evans, Steve McNair, and our very own Donovan McNabb come to mind. We have very little evidence that says Hurts progression will be successful enough to keep him as a top franchise level QB but he certainly will get every chance over the next couple of years.

So much this. It was an absolute Eagles fan joy to watch the great Fred Warner screwed into the turf in the NFCCG because he had to spy / watch for Hurts keeping on the option.

This offense does not have that. Patullo/Siri make the entire offense work harder for the same results.

For sure. He isn’t as fast as he was back then. Slow decline.

This was 2 hours ago. He's going to have quite the day flying in the day of and just hours before kickoff..

That’s understandable, and aside from slowing down (lower ypc) I think Jalen has become less aggressive (fewer carries).

I was told this was because he hates Hurts, doesn't want to fly with him let alone play with him any more and regrets signing his extension here! See...this is easy to do!

They hadn't made a prediction at that time and now I'm dial hopping. Unfortunately I see Dallas winning 23-16.

I'm telling you, the next Eagles game they lose ecause of a lousy offensive effort there will be blood and some type of chanage. They are all in for another Super Bowl and if they can't get there because of scoring 16 points a game there will be blood.

Gonna play devil's advocate here, you will probably never hear any player in any sport outright say they didn't sign with a team because of another player.

The real question is what free agents have even been available that we would want here where Hurts would have been a factor? We traded for Dotson so unless there was a #4 receiver out there we were looking for I don't even know who would even comment one way or the other
