IMO, there is about a 90% chance the SB winner this year will either be the Eagles or a team the Eagles have already beaten this year. So, quite literally, the Eagles can beat anyone. The problem is that I cannot fathom how they can beat multiple good teams in a row when we know the offense is going to lay an egg ever week and the defense has no room for error. Sooner or later, someone is going to get them. Just like Dallas did today. It's a weird football year all together. No one college team looks dominant. The Heisman chase is one of the worst I've ever seen. I dunno, just seems like such a BLAH football year.

14 hours ago14 hr I think it’s also important to ignore the outcome. Of this loss. And of the wins that led up to it. Maybe pretend this was a win and some of those games were losses. The defense was "fine” today. Dallas gave them all they could handle…and it was worse in the second half…but giving up 24 points against a team with a very good offense and when you were handed 2 short fields to defend off turnovers? (And one inside the 5). All when you are facing the second worst defense in the nfl? That’s doing enough to win.The offense has killed them week in, week out and failed to bring home what should have been a layup today. I really think the defense was completely fine today.
14 hours ago14 hr The Rams are a well coached team. The Eagles are not outside of the defense. Nick sucks. Too many penalties too inept.

I think also plays into this is they are relying on fangio and his defense to uphold a 3 score lead. The issue is by becoming conservative and going into a funk with a lot of 3 and outs is the defense is asked to play more and more snaps and eventually they are going to tire out or a second corner is going to get exploited by Pickens or lamb.

When you predict it happening again, and see it happening, I dont know how you miss it and think it didnt happen.Last year they could run out games, this year their run game is so anaemic this year no lead is safe unless the D takes over, cant expect the D to win games every week, at some point the O needs to do their part and until they can run the ball its not happening☹️

For better or for worse. That might be a huge stretch, but both are ridiculously overrated IN MY OPINION despite the accolades and accomplishments. The best we can hope for is a miraculous turn around with the O or we are looking at another 1st round bounce.

I'm saying that Hurts and him having a mismatch in schematics effectively nullifies his ability to contribute to the offense directly. This means he needs to rely on an OC more because Hurts skillset is basically the opposite of his offensive prototype. He has to bring in notably above average OCs or good scheme fit OCs because of this exact problem. That's why they keep getting plucked for head coaching jobs, and why he has to get a new one basically EVERY year. It's easy to say that someone gets bad OCs when 4 out of 5 years they've had different ones. Most franchises don't have to deal with this to begin with because they hire one and keep him for multiple years - even top candidates often get this opportunity.Again I’m not disagreeing with your assessment of the situation regarding hurts. Please acknowledge this team keeps making the same mistakes and performing poorly but nothing has changes. Whose fault is it saquan is still being featured over bigsby? Why did they become complacent after going up 21? Is that not on him?! The things he can control he’s not doing a good job at it’s nit just his OC hires.

14 hours ago14 hr Remember when the head coach was the play caller and the offense sucked? Remember when the head coach had an internal candidate hired to call the plays and the offense was still his and it sucked? Remember when Howie went outside of the organization to hire someone to run the offense and the Eagles won the SB. Remember when Nick got his bot hired and it's back to being his offense and it sucked? The head coach is an offensive guy whose shown time and time again that when the offense is his it's a joke. It's like FN groundhog day around here in this era. Take away Steichen/Moore and Gannon/Vic and the crazy talent Howie has put together and this guy never wins anything.

It's absolutely possible starting with an OC who can make decisions quickly and make adjustments. Changes can be worked in slowly. Did you watch the 04 Super Bowl. Went from a 3-4 to 4-3 in the BYE

Rams jumped on the Bucs 21-0, now they are up 31-7. I guarantee McVay goes for the throat, and its 38-7 here shortly, and if the Bucs score, McVay will make it 45-10 or 45-14

Especially with the talent Dallas has and Dak has always given this team trouble, especially at home.

The trickle down effect has hit the NFL as so few are ‘pro ready’. Now with technology & medicine, there’s a lot more ‘generational’ type athletes. The NFL is slowly becoming who can collect the most of those and keep them.

Tomlin is a defensive coach and has had a hand in their defenses. They’ve been good. I get the comp based on being a CEO type of coach. He reminds me of a more conservative version Doug that always tries to avoid turnovers at all costs. After 2017 when Reich left, Doug and his OC saw their offense become stale as th years and games went by. We discussed it on here and was discussed all over Twitter. He also began not utilizing his personnel well. I illustrated this and a massive post on here in 2019 after the Dolphins game that they lost. Like not using webs on more roll outs when he was excellent at it. To Doug’s credit in 2019 after that game he became utilizing his guys better and they got hot. But wentz declined, talent declined and the offensive play calling scheming went south with it.
