I’d do it but they won’t do it on a short week. If they do then it’s likely for the chargers game as they have extra time

  • Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

Another game where Dotson is just out there running cardio. I say it every week, but there has to be 2 or 3 plays for him per week where he can contribute.

Would be curious to see who is covering him on most plays. I don’t know if he’s often drawing decent DBs simply because he’s out there and someone has to account for him or if he’s getting our equivalent of Josh Jobe CB4 in coverage every play because DCs know not to bother.

It would really be interesting just to come out firing to him one week.

Positive news we might not have to see Gipson anymore

See this is where it’s on coaching. We can debate Hurts vs what this offense might look like with McKee. We’ll never know because changing QBs is a massive move you don’t do when you built your offense around a SB MVP and are headed to a playoff run.

You can change looks with RBs on every play. Is Barkley playing worse than Tank? Or is the D just selling out to stop him? Who cares? Doesn’t matter. When you need to get the ground game going, control the clock, or protect a lead, send out the guy that the opposing defense isn’t selling out to stop so that you can actually run the football. And if teams start stacking against Tank, that’s fine too. At least they won’t look pass every time Barkley rests.

That’s what you get with a "CEO” coach. Vic can handle his own. Siri cannot

You might want to put some deep blue on your shoulder after reaching that hard. Two different OC's have had major success with Hurts as the QB. Hurts had success at two different college programs with different coaches. The few games that Sirianni called plays and the two seasons that he had internal hires running his offense the offense has sucked. Not to mention that the run game got completely shut down in the SB and Hurts lit Spag's defense up. So don't act like Moore's offense only worked because of the run game. Sirianni is just a bad coach who walked down the road and found a winning lottery ticket, it's that simple. Trying to throw shade at Hurts to justify Sirianni being a moron is a laughably bad take.

It's not reaching, it's quite literally what happened, and it's backed up by the biggest rushing attack in the history of the team. People were complaining all year about the lack of passing production in the majority of the games, at some point including people on the TEAM.

Don't cherry pick the SB specifically as that being one of like two games where the passing offense actually was good, and I wasn't shading Kellen at all. I'm saying that the guy with the most passing pedigree as an OC of ALL of the coaches under Sirianni decided to NOT primarily run the offense by putting the ball in Jalen's hands as a passer.

Comparing having ONE game of not being able to run the ball in 2024 to not being able to run the ball ALL YEAR in 2025 is ridiculously disingenuous as an argument, and you damn well know that. It is not shading Jalen Hurts to say that him and Sirianni do not match each other schematically. If you feel that way, that's a you problem.

True.

That said, I would still give loeffler the play calling duties. The reason why is because with Kevyn Pattulo it’s been 11 games and I haven’t seen any real improvement. It would be one thing if he was real bad at the beginning of the year then you saw midseason until now he’s improving week to week. But that’s not happening. It’s largely the same issues week to week outside of a giants game.

I do not think it is going to save them. I think they’re ineptitude goes back to sirianni‘s offense is just not that complicated, he wants to be more conservative when they get ahead and they still won’t utilize their personnel correctly (hence using Calcaterra the way they do). However, I also don’t think this is gonna be a Matt Patricia type decline if they did it. It probably would be status quo over complete decline. IMO, Desai was given a defense that lacked talent and i don’t believe defensive players remotely liked Patricia.

I’m not saying don’t make a change. I just think when you take into consideration this circumstance, this team and this QB at this time of the year, it basically it what it is.

You risk slight improvement while possibly tanking your already struggling offense.

Basically, make the change if you want. But for this team its not going to be an "easy” button to push.

Did Blankenship ever come back in? Looked like he maybe tweaked a ham string or something.

Do you read the posts you reply to? Like I quite literally said this in the middle of the post you just responded to.

Mostly Sirianni's, and Sirianni's. I don't recall saying that I thought he never makes mistakes? He's definitely player loyal, for better or for worse. I actually wish he was less player loyal, and would be more willing to make people ride pine for not being the best fit for what they're trying to do.

I've complained about the FO being too player friendly in general for a while now - not enough discipline because Lurie and Howie are a bit too prioritizing of what they call "Emotional Intelligence."

Do you understand what I am saying? That means sirianni has not self awareness for his weaknesses as a play caller for hurts and this offense. If sirianni is unable to come up with an offensive game plan that suits the strengths of hurts then he should stick to experienced coordinators that can. Do you not see the pattern? Can you at least acknowledge he made the same mistake he made in 2023? But it’s also on FO for allowing him to do it again.

No. I think they said it was a quad.

The Eagles hate the press associated with changes and big decisions. When Matt Patricia took over the defense, they really tried to not acknowledge it.

They could make a change on who is calling the plays and not even announce it.

I'd like to see a full game with DeJean as the other outside CB with Carter playing slot in the nickel package. That's what they went to today after Jackson went out. Outside of Carter running into Quinyon on the big Pickens catch at the end, I didn't hear his name called much which is always good for a corner. There's just too much liability going with the Jackson/Bennett combo at CB2.

I get what you’re saying. Imo I don’t think it’s gonna fix their problems. My reasoning for doing it is that I don’t see Pattulo making any adjustment or getting better at what he’s doing. It’s the same things he’s struggled with since week 1. At this point, I know what I’m gonna get out of him. Even with Desai, he at least had an excuse if the defense lacked talent and playmakers. That’s not true here.

So I might as well take a chance with loeffler and see what he can do. Frankly if it’s the same then it’s the same. If he has success and builds upon it then maybe he’s the solution to the OC for 2026. I don’t think they would completely bottom out on offense like the defense had happen in 2023. I think that was perfect storm of a crummy DC in Patricia and a big lack of talent.

Besides Patricia being inept as a DC anyway, that defense lack talent. They were sinking ship whether they made the switch or not. I think the implosion was gonna happen

When you look at it that way…

Easily. 6 weeks left. It's absolutely possible starting with an OC who can make decisions quickly and make adjustments. Changes can be worked in slowly. Did you watch the 04 Super Bowl. Went from a 3-4 to 4-3 in the BYE

Joe Brady was promoted Nov 14th for Buffalo's oc so not far off

True. I just used that as an example because it’s probably in Howie/Lurie/Siri’s memory bank for the perils of midseason changes on winning teams and because of how they handled it externally. If they do make a change with play calling and even the functions OC, they will keep Patullo as the OC in title and we may not even hear much about it.

Was thinking that myself. If they lose Friday I don't see how they can avoid one

If I’m Loeffler or Frazier, I’d be so damn excited right now. I’d politic the hell out of whoever I needed to. You do like 3-4 super obvious things and be an average play caller, you’re getting paid next offseason.

I kind of think they learned the lesson from that to not really announce it. Then again with how many leaks come out, I will guarantee if the Eagles changed their play caller that somehow it is going to get out to someone like Jay glazer

Didn’t the leak about Patricia come out a month later?

I feel for DeJean. That’s a rough set of receivers to have to cover when you’re getting yo-yo’d between the slot and outside. He’s a helluva player, but he’s not at that level where he should be able to expect to hold up well under those circumstances.

1 minute ago, Diehardfan said:

If they lose Friday then they are in a world of trouble. Cause they are in danger of being the 3 seed so have to go on the road for 2 games and no bye. They’d have really very little chance at the 1 seed.

I do think there is a silver lining to this afternoon. This offense, on its current trajectory, was destined to prematurely terminate this season with an unhappy ending sooner or later. The longer they kept winning despite their offense, the more delayed and less likely any course correction became.

I really think this loss, to this team, under these circumstances, laid bare that reality to the point they have to acknowledge it.

I don’t think the offense is fixable this year. But you have to try. And I think now they will commit themselves to making meaningful changes.
