Well at least we'll always have this

Hurts taking that sack was far and away the worst play of the game and maybe worst play of their season. It was even worse than Gipson fielding that punt, which is also in the top 5. Hurts was protected, he had plenty of time to throw. And even if he just throws it away there, that is a clear go for it on 4th situation at only 4th and 2. Because even if you don't convert, giving it to Dallas already in FG range could actually save you some time to get the ball back and could've ended up working out to their benefit. So to me that was a clear 4 down territory... unless you take an idiotic sack. Which he did. Yeah the play call was bad there, but it's not like Hurts was pressured instantly. Hurts takes some really bad sacks, it's a major flaw of his. Several plays per game he will roll away from pressure and it's clear the play is already dead and he waits an extra 5 seconds to throw it away. I don't get it.

What?

I wouldn’t complain if they fired Sirianni if they end up collapsing again.

The Eagles have a program with Lurie, Howie, the FO, Big Dom, etc. They’ll keep Fangio and Stoutland. Sirianni needs to know his role and stop pretending to be something that he’s not. Get out of the damn way. He’s not even a CEO, he’s a glorified Chief of Staff who talks to the media.

That is such a straw man. No one I've seen is saying Saquon is "the" issue with the running game.

People are saying he's playing like crap because he is.

That sequence on the last drive where he tried dancing around then got tackled by his ankles for no gain, then inexplicably fell down on 2nd down 2 yards short was terrible.

Of course the next play was the Hurts sack so it's easy to forget, but Saquon left a bunch of critical yards on the field

Saquon does not trust the blocking in front of him and he's making bad decisions because of it. That's also where coaching has to come in and give him less work.

Bigger roles for Dotson and Tank are needed going forward. So underutilized. No Grant Calcaterra at all. Like to see Lampkin implemented. Lot of things they can do here in house to fix this. Stop it with the paranoid committing a Turnover BS and just let it hang out and see what we got. Playing not to lose yesterday and went into a shell. Finally bit them in the ass. If this loss changes things for the better with the mentality, than it will be a blessing in disguise. Weird that a team that is so aggressive with the tush push and its mentality is so non-aggressive everywhere else. Need to take a hard look at the mirror this week before this spirals.

Frankly, it doesn’t really matter who’s better in the nfl than them in terms of personnel. I view it this way, the giant fired their head coach. They have Jameis Winston at quarterback who’s a turnover machine waiting to happen. They have significant losses at wide receiver and running back. their offensive line is also not great. They just played potentially three playoff teams in Green Bay, bears and the Lions. They average 22.3 points per game.

The Eagles faced the same Packers team, the same Lions team, and a horrible Dallas defense. Even with those trades that defense is not good. Yet the eagle average 15.6 points per game. One team is getting more out of less. While one team has more and he’s getting less out of it. That comes down to coaching. I get the offensive line is not as good as year’s past. But they’re bigger problems to me in the sense that the coaching staff doesn’t realize that specifically what you should be passing on first down when the Cowboys have no answer to AJ Brown or Smith. And you keep running into a brick wall on 1st down like that’s good change and it’s been 12 Fing weeks.

If only folks would have said so earlier in the week... whistle

If only the coaches looked at the film and decided he needs to get healthy before he gets back on the field.

Goedert, Steen and Jurgens all miss their blocks on that play.

Im so sick of seeing steen standing up pre snap, as hes automatically playing high, one would think its a silent snap thing because of the road noise but they do it at home as well, it makes zero sense.🤷‍♂️

Goedert doesnt even touch his guy, cam as usual is leaning too far forward and gets rag dolled and steen misses his block too.

Barkley has zero chance, worse part is 3 guys on one play missing blocks is common place this year

This from an offense with 10-11 starters returning ☹️

Howie had a potential PB at guard in his prime and went with Steen. Yeah, he has been injured, but we can't assume that would have happened here.

Yup. Literally every game he does

Weirdly the OL can't even agree on whether or not they focused on 5 man fronts from Dallas or not. Stout has gotten a pass for a long time... maybe its time to ask him some questions.

Tbh if they didn’t fire sirianni after the collapse of 2023, then they’re definitely not firing him if they collapse this year after winning a Super Bowl the previous year. As much as I would agree that I think it’s shown that the offense is not capable of designing something that is innovative and creative. Lurie will go get an OC with experience in play calling to help in 2026. If we are talking about the Sam thing in 2026 then i think there’s a serious discussion by Lurie

I think we talked about it last week. It was stupid and those of us who aren't paid millions a year to coach saw it. How didn't Nick? Oh, because he's an idiot who only brings vibes.

PHI on first down against DAL: 5 of 11 plays were designed runs for an average of 0.8 yards. 5 of 11 designed pass for an average of 11.6 yards (incl 1 Hurts scramble). 4 of 5 designed runs were out of the shotgun.

TBApfdP.png

Above from eagles reddit.

We should be throwing on every first down from now on. And start running from the I-Formation instead of from the shotgun as opposing defenses don't respect the threat of Hurts' running anymore. Can these geniuses figure it out???

Yup no D is worried about hurts running on RPOs anymore, hes got no juice and even when he does hes sliding down to avoid hits for 2 yards.

Yet coaches keep running the same plays same formations runs and routes as last year and even though it hasnt worked all year they keep banging against that wall then tell us week after week they're going to get it fixed

Hurts presser when asked about the O he kibd of chuckled as he said, again, we gotta fix it, yet here we are week 12 and no fix.

The team obviously cant run block the currently called plays so why not switch it up

I remember Reids first year, he has horrible offensive personnel so what did he do, lined staley up in the I formation and ran him 25 times a game then threw him 5 more screens.

If Siri is so hell bent in keeping things simple and just lining up and beating the guy in front of you with minimal scheming than change the simple because simple they are doing now isnt working

And lining up calcaterra in the backfield as a lead blocker while simple is also really stupid

Yep, I think this sounds right. He’ll corner Sirianni, tell him they will nip the offense BS in the bud or else. Pay big money to the best OC they can get in 2026. Invest like mad in the OL. And probably be damn good next year.

But at some point having to babysit the babysitter is gonna get old, and that’s ok. When the cycle runs it's course, let it go.

Came here hoping KP was relieved of his duties. Bitterly disappointing to see nothing has changed

The scoring of 21 points pretty quickly and then absolutely not being able to adjust is what sticks out to me. The coaching staff had a plan and it worked, right up until the cowboys adjusted. And then they just didn't know what to do.

this is every single game this year...they cant adjust, ever

I think he's seeing ghosts from all the backfield hits he's taken this season, and is now hesitating. The obvious solution here is to limit his carries and unleash the tank instead until Saquon figures it out. Or have dual RB backfield looks to confuse the D.

we are allowed to do that?

Steen has been fine this year hes no all pro but he doesnt need to be, he just needs to be the 5th best OL problem is hes been the Second best OL this year behind Lane who is currently hurt and was having a down year as well.

Jurgens has been atrociously bad, dickerson not much better and Mailata has taken a step back as well. All 3 of those guys are pro bowlers and this year theyve struggled mightily.

Steen isnt as good as becton in the run game, not many guards are but steen has been better in pass pro and held his own in the run game.

If im tanking problems with the offense or the run game Steen is at the bottom of the list.

Jurgens, patullo, siri, dickerson would be at the top of my list, one can day well jurgens and Dickerson are hurt and yet the coaches keep trotting them out there to be legless speed bumps, at what point does Stout get some blame?

Eagles have to win out this schedule for HFA. Can see Rams only losing one game to the Seahawks in Seattle. Otherwise, a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way for them. Eagles have that Bills game in Buffalo as their toughest game, otherwise it is possible. Lose to the Bears and then we can officially say this is more like 2023 than 2024. This is about the same time they went to hell that year.

My fear is that the defense isn't healthy enough on the backend and that weak depth will cost them games. Howie had all season to correct this potential scenario. Where's Justin Simmons or even Stephen Gilmore to try plug these holes up. Michael Carter and Bennett are not the answers apparently. Certainly Sydney Brown isn't. Should have bit the bullet and signed CJGJ who's versatile and would plug these holes up for a few games at worst.  And knows this defense.

DAL didn't really deserve to win, players made several mistakes and the coaching made several mistakes.

  1. Going for 4th and 3 at midfield on the opening drive? Punt the damn ball, gave PHI a short field for a TD. coaching

  2. 2nd PHI drive was full of penalties, big 3rd down to get off the field, Clowney is good for an offside call every game, another PHI TD. player

  3. DAL is driving, Turpin AS A RB fumbles at the PHI 31, another good drive by PHI and another TD. player and coaching, use your damn RB not a glorified kick returner

  4. DAL is driving, 2nd and goal @ the 1 and Guyton jumps early, INT in the EZ. player and coaching, run the damn ball

  5. DAL gets a gift turnover in the RZ and decides to turn it over on downs instead of taking the points with 5 minutes left in the game...stupid. coaching

  6. CeeDee with three drops, PHI is in his head, he was spooked of getting lit up after the catch. player two games in a row against PHI with the drops.

  7. Missed FG. 2nd miss in two games is Aubrey cracking? player

How did you feel about Thursday?

I’ve said this before and I don’t really care people disagree with it, I think when Nick Sirianni leaves the Eagles and he doesn’t have the talent that Howie Roseman has given him that he is going to have a very Doug like HC career. Where he is a mediocre coach. Thats not saying he isn’t the right guy for right now. He has a role in the success. The eagle have had. I think the bigger role in the overall success the last 2 years has really been Howie’s Roseman’s ability to collect talent, stoutland’s ability with the OL in 2024 and acquiring fangio.
