You watched last nights game and the clip you show is of the defense playing poorly? They made more than enough stops, especially in crunch time when it counted. The offense shipped the bed. Their fault, including your MVP QB.

  • Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

You wouldn't understand that because you still think this is Siris offense or Patullos offense and Hurts is great and those guys are the issue.

I'm ready for the next era, Tanner time. It won't happen until mid way through next year when we are dumpster fire but we are getting close.

Insane to stick with Patullo. If he weren't Sirriani's buddy he'd have been fired already like Desai

If you're Nick you really can't win in this situation no matter what you do actually. Fans think they're the only ones focused on 2023, but what they seem to forget is that 2023 was a year in which he won almost twice as many games as he lost, and he still had people trying to fire him 4 games into the following season, even though two seasons ago he lost the Super Bowl only because the defense couldn't keep their footing to save their lives and he got backstabbed by his DC.

If you think he's going to make the leap again and try to can guys mid-season when the only thing that ultimately did was make people try to unfairly run him out of town, you've clearly never been in the same position.

I think people wanted to run him out of town because he picked the two guys that year who sucked and he brings little past vibes. At the start of last year he made a ton of bad decisions in the Falcons game that cost them. It's been a bit but going for it instead of taking 3 points comes to mind. This is the second time in 3 years that he picked a bad OC who f'ed a good offense and he doesn't have the ability to step in because he sucks. So I don't care if he wants to make the leap again Jeff and Howie need to force it or he can get the hell out. If it wasn't for Vic they may only have 3 or 4 wins. And I don't agree with the "unfairly run him out". He deserved it.

Made it to the SB with two good coordinators

Picked two bad ones and it went to crap

Two good ones (handed to him by Howie and Jeff) and the talent carried him to a SB win
One good one (who was handed to him by Howie and Jeff) is carrying him this year and the other he picked is an anchor

It stings for me. It was reminding me of 28-3

I get it. It is disappointing with what's at stake this season.

But even up 21-0, the Eagles just started playing not to lose. And everything started to crumble. Undisciplined penalties. Obviously some that were bogus. Missed opportunities. Settling for a long FG and not converting it. Barkley fumble on that ugly breakdown play was the icing on the turd.

But a win against Chicago on Friday rights the ship.

I think the thing that is the most annoying about Eagles fans these days is that somehow we've gone from the days where coaches said "My way or the highway" and "You won't start until you can do what I need" to people thinking that the opportunity to choose your QB for the offense you want to run is completely worthless, and that coaches should all be able to adapt to practically whatever they get handed at the position if they coach for Philadelphia. If it was SO unimportant, why didn't Reid just stick with Alex Smith and then go on to win 3 Super Bowls? Why did Shanahan not just stick with Jimmy G?

If the coaches considered the schematic best in the business STILL thought it was important to try to improve the position in terms of favorability to their scheme, why is it that Eagles fans, specifically, think that Nick shouldn't just have the best record in team history, but should magically have the skills to adapt perfectly to QBs he didn't draft.

....Heck have the Eagles drafted even a SINGLE QB with the template of Jalen Hurts in ANY round since Jalen Hurts was drafted? I'm pretty sure they haven't, they haven't even brought in backups with the same skillset for the most part!

Fresh ideas.

That was said over and over again after the Brian Johnson era. Nick was basically told gtfo or give up some power and let someone else that knows what they're doing have a bigger say in the offense. Bring in outside ideas.

"I just think right now we just need to bring some new ideas from the outside," Sirianni explained to reporters on Wednesday. "We need to bring a guy in with new ideas that's not part of this family of coaches. I think that an important thing or even if it is from one of the coaches that have been somewhere else -- it can be any of that. So, that's important and because that's important you are making sure you always evolve.

....

"It's just about putting the players in the best positions to succeed but doing things differently at times too," Sirianni told reporters. "There's going to be things for whoever the new coordinator is that there's going to be things that they bring that are going to be fresh ideas for us to help out players grow and help our players play at the top level. There's been some things that we've done well that our offense has done in the past that you'll mesh in some of that together as well. I think with some of the success that we've had these last three years and our guys do well. I'm excited about that.

... "These ideas and this new person coming in is meant to help take away the staleness and add the value of what they are adding to the offense."

https://www.nfl.com/news/nick-sirianni-fresh-ideas-needed-for-eagles-offense-after-disappointing-end-to-2023-season

This is the FO confronting Nick that his offense blows and he needs to bring in someone else if he intends to stay. I get that they won the SB the very next year, but this team literally jumped right back to the 2023 season. Thankfully they have Fangio this year to keep them in games, but how the hell are they in this same position again? The offense is stale, and there's no value to the motion they use, again.

Hey we still have a shot to make it even worse

I would assume if Gilmore or Simmons had anything left in the tank they’d be on a roster.

I think they could be looking for a specific situation as well. Just asking these guys to play for a month or two like BG. See no harm in trying. We are desperate there at this point.

Only the worst of WIP Eagles fans could actually use 'MVP QB' as an insult of a guy who literally won MVP of the Super Bowl that the team won in the same calendar year as the comment while the team still sits at 8-3 in the next season

Add on he’s 65th ranked safety out 93 by pff and has a worse grade than Justin Simmons had in 2024 at 58.2. Add on the bears given up 26.8ppg since inserting him into the lineup against the vaunted Joe Flacco, jj McCarthy, Jameis Winston and mason rudolph.

We won a Superbowl with him. No? Sydney Brown will be minus numbers if they exist. There's no defense for what's backing up at safety right now.

I'm not entirely sure we'll win against them

You think CJGJ was going to come here, not be a complete pain in the ass to be a backup for an entire season until now? Lmao. He wasn’t going anywhere where he didn’t have th ability to start without an injury. Ravens secondary was awful. And bears isn’t very good either. He wasn’t coming here to be a backup to Mukuba and Reed.

Definitely man, definitely! SO MVP!! See my post above showing his stats in the intermediate yardage area. Does he win Noodle arm MVP for that too?

Defense was the MVP of that SB

I'd play Toth over Jurgens for sure at this point. Not sure I'm sold on Pryor over Dickerson - have we ever seen Pryor at LG? I know he played RG and played well last year.

Cam needs to sit. I dont know if it is the back or something else but he has been horrible this year. Let Toth play and see if some extended rest can get Cam back on track.

I dont know what to do about Dickerson. He probably needs to sit as well. Not sure about replacements at OG...Pryor, Opeta.

Lampkin interests me as a pulling C or OG because he seems good on the move/second level but not sure he has the size for OG

No. Pay attention. Could have signed him for cheap at the bye week. He was begging for a job, if you had the door open. Sirianni shares an emotional moment with him on sidelines at Superbowl. Attitude of BTA was something we can use. Still on team CJGJ. Playmaker back there. Is he perfect? Of course not. He and Reed were buddies. Don't get that one. Oh well. Brown will cost us. Went to hell back there once he was in game.

He wasn’t coming here to be a backup which is what he would’ve been at bye JFC.

Mukuba and Reed were the starters. Want to know why he choose ravens and bears? Cause was a path to being a starter without a player getting hurt cause they needed the help. There wasn’t here besides injury.

Again he wasn’t coming here to be a backup and the Fing eagles weren’t benching Mukuba for CJGJ

A QB of the winning team wins Super Bowl MVP.  That hardly ever happens!

Sirianni literally cannot be involved in schematics because him and Hurts are the opposite of complementary schematically, and he did not pick Jalen Hurts. Howie picked Jalen Hurts.

Sirianni and the Eagles during both years of OC issues, were coming off Super Bowl berths which limited the candidates they had the opportunity to interview.

I just think Eagles fans really don't give a crap about circumstance more and more so because they're becoming more and more spoiled with greater success. And that's especially important in football because due to most installations being in the offseason, if you have playbook issues, that is a notorious pain in the ass to fix in-season, even if you realize your mistake. Eagles fans however have gotten to the point where down years of any kind are considered unacceptable, so there's no real chance to even see if people learn from their mistakes. It's kind of insufferable honestly.
