Go watch the Devonta TD vs. Gb. His presence on the field and being aj brown took 2 GB defenders with him so devonta had 1 on 1 with a safety.Just my opinion. Think he's overrated and Devonta is underrated. I'd trade him before he turns 30 and is even less explosive next year. Think this offense will be fine without him. Didn't think that a year or 2 ago. But do now. But he was in his prime (Look at what happened to Saquon in just one year. Cant tell me he's the same guy as last year). I'm kinda over him. And I will say he's not wrong in his opinions, as they are right. But it's tiring and potentially detrimental. And this isn't prime AJ Brown anymore. Hurts seemed to play well and free without him that week he was out. Think his time is up here.
2 hours ago2 hr Top one is 2024, bottom one is 2025. A lot of the 'passing stats' are pretty much on par. Similar completion %, Yards per game, rating. Slightly better TD/game and sacks/game but lower explosive plays which goes to YPA, and a much worse 1st down % (way too many 3rd and long situations this year). The point isn't to say our passing game is good but it was also very volatile and not all that great last year. BUT it was efficient enough for what we needed as we were just able to lean into the run game and consistently had favourable down/distance situations which made it easier for what we needed from the passing game to have a successful offense. The running game struggles this year are the biggest difference between last year and this year to the overall performance of the offense because the passing game hasn't been able to elevate at all to make up that gap - its broadly performing at a similar level but from much less favourable situations. And that was never going to be good enough this year after the historic running success we had last season was always going to be hard to replicate.
2 hours ago2 hr I hate that they lost. It was a disgusting watch. Patullo is the devil... The 1 seed is out of their control. Lots of bad stuff. But overall I feel better today than I have for a while about the vibe of this team. The first 5 or 6 games were on Patullo. Can he figure it out? (no!)The next 5 or 6 were on Siri. His buddy can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag. He needed to do something (he did nothing)Now its 100% on Howie. Its his roster. He is Lurie's representative to make the team run well.I have zero confidence on the first two clowns figuring out what the hell they should be doing. Its up to Howie to force the change now.Firing, demotion, consultant? I don't care. He just has to do something.Note: They have a game on Friday, I mean after that game when they have 9 days before the next game.

They get into much worse passing situations than last year. Even last year, when the running game was borderline historic, the passing game STILL had its bad moments.

Just saying the lose rams game without aj brown. They lose the Vikings game without aj brown. Without aj brown yesterday this offense looks even more pathetic then it did. He was pretty important in those Vikings and rams victories. His importance to the offense isn’t statistics alone. Him being aa good as he is makes defensive coordinators defense you differently. It opens things up for other guys even if not going to him. Again that GB game is the definition of that cause the biggest play we had was cause DC sold out on brown and gave us 1 on 1 vs. safety with Devonta. Add on the eagles haven’t exactly crushed it developing and drafting WRs. It’s him who was good before he got here and smith. That’s it since Howie took back his role. And this isn’t, they’re not gonna get rid of them. I tend to think they’re gonna wind up trading him. But I also think if he is great again next year somewhere else that there is gonna be a lot of questions

I don’t care who you are, you aren’t gaining many yards that way. Teams have sold out to stop the run, it’s working. Was he washed in the Super Bowl when the chiefs did the same thing? We lack the coaching to leverage our talent on offense and that’s been discussed plenty. Point the figure at the moron coaching this group with his OC. Our defense is doing fine with a competent coach

Like Barry Sanders etc. There's all kinds of excuses. He should be breaking through at times and really has very few large runs. Offensive line still has enough there for him to figure it out if he's right. And Tank has looked great in limited snaps, as he's doing less dancing and hitting the hole. Last year was a wet dream for any RB with our road grading offensive line.

But he’s literally getting hit 54% of the time behind the LOS. I wonder if there’s a stat that shows contact in general bec we all see they are hitting him almost at the LOS every time. There’s just no where to go inside and our OC continues to run him up the middle the majority of the time

The line of demarkation in his contract was always end of 2026. He was either being released, traded or extended at that point. Extended at 30 seemed the least likely. That said eagles still have to replace him. They haven’t exactly hit it out of the park drafting and developing since 2016 besides smith. And there’s not exactly aj brown’s always readily available via trade.Add on Dotson has not been a starter in years now. Imo there’s a reason he wasn’t for commanders. Washington didn’t think he was new regime and with previous regime he wasn’t good enough consistently to warrant it. I don’t think the eagles believe he’s better than an 3rd wr. Also cooper has shown absolutely nothing so far to say he’s anything more than a 5th wr and fringe roster player. At this current moment there’s a better chance he’s out of the league in a year or two then becomes a legitimate starting WR. and that’s not me hating on this kid. That is me living in the reality that an undrafted free agent that becomes a starting wide receiver and a high valued one is more unlikely

Think they will take the cap hit if compensation is decent. There's a way to maybe rework deal before a pending trade if he wants out of here and had enough. Sure Howie will try to be creative.

However that day was always coming as the end of the road at best was 2026. So I’m assuming the eagles were always looking at this upcoming offseason as the time they made a decision to either shop him and cash in that asset or extend him. They were never letting it play out til the 2027 offseason. It’s the same scenario that played out with his previous extension

People forget that Kelce truly had a rough couple years in there around 2012-2014, struggling with a soft anchor. If we are lucky, he can have a similar trajectory.Cam Jurgens is a top athlete. He's got a great attitude, seems to be a locker room glue guy much in the Jason Kelce mold. I've said from day 1 though that my concern with him is that his body has only known the 302 lb life for a few years. He was a 230-240 pound tight end when he signed with Nebraska. I know OL/DL put on tons of weight during college, but putting 65+ pounds to a 6-4 frame over the course of 5 years or so is extreme. Maybe he just isn't built to carry that weight long term. I'm probably overthinking this. Just look at Lane Johnson. he was a 6-6 210 pound QB. He's put 115 pounds on to his frame. Everyone is different. I want Jurgens to get healthy. He was a stud last year before he got hurt. His agility at center is fun to watch. He's just beyond banged up and it's painful to watch just as I'm sure it's painful to play.

2 hours ago2 hr Some people have expressed concern if the Eagles make a play caller change or coordinator change and things get worse what that could do to the psyche of the team. Frankly, I’m worried about what it’ll do to the team if it gets worse and they don’t. Players have expressed frustration all season. I think they know the coaching isn’t right. And of course there’s frustration with the QB if you believe some insiders.

Heck i posted a video for spotrac saying this exact thing and how they could maneuver the cap hit when they dealt him this offseason. It was always coming down to moving on from him in 2026 offseason or 2027.

It's worse, because it doesn't have the crutch of the dominant running game to lean on. It didn't step forward and as a result, it's regressed.
1 hour ago1 hr Considering the head coach today said the following:-Kevin did a great job calling plays-It's not like us to have so many penalties (they are 26th worst in the league on the season)-They weren't aware of the cowboys running so many 5 man fronts (they did it a ton the previous game)It might be time to root for another 2023 implosion so Howie and Lurie wake up and realize he is a fraud and fire him. It's funny how there is a vocal minority who thinks the team wins in spite of the QB when they do win in spite of someone but it's the goofball head coach.

It has to become more pass oriented in order to get yourself into more manageable 2nd and 3rd situations. I though BLG and Sheil explained it really well in the podcast today.
