Cowboys/lions game next week is likely an elimination game for whoever loses that game. Lions would fall to 7-6 (if they don’t comeback today) and cowboys if they lose today and next week would fall to 5-7-1 or if they win today 6-6-1

I think their plan was always to stash him the entire year - this is better than him sitting out the entire season on IR as lets him get 3 weeks of practice in vs nothing if he stayed on IR without activating the window. They have taken away the option of activating him in case of Jurgens or Toth get injured so that they are out for the year but they have Kendall for that.

I thought he could have been the 6th OL at least until Lane is out but guessing the Eagles didn't want to put that on his plate

This is true but also wtf is AJ Dillon still doing here and why is that more important than injury insurance at C/G

Not saying I agree with it. I would have activated him and given him a look as 6th OL. especially given he tends to get movement in run game based on the limited clips I have seen.

But, between keeping someone on IR, or opening their window and giving them 3 weeks of practice time but still keeping them on IR, the second one is certainly the better option
