EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

Featured Replies

If you are looking at it in singular years, Howie had a bad 2025. Some of it was by design by letting players walk for money while setting up to pay big money to some of your own guys.

Every FA brought in during the off-season has stunk though. Uche is the best and he's just ok. Smith was a good signing at the time and played well when he was here, but that's the risk you take signing an old guy dragging his feet to sign with the team.

The trades were also pretty bad if you look at them as a whole. He traded Pickett for DTR, which was a disaster. The problem was compounded by drafting McCord who was also a disaster. So he had to fix it by trading again for another QB. The CJGJ trade ended up pretty pointless. Bennett might be good but is still TBD and Booker has been decent. The best trade he made was getting rid of Huff and getting a condition that's attainable while getting San Fran to take on money. As far as the in season trades, we'll see how they end up. Bigsby was decent even though they wasted half the season with him on ST's only. Phillips very well could be good.

With all that said, it's important to keep in mind the Eagles are 6-2 and a big part of that is because Howie had a fantastic 2024. He's still the best GM in the NFL.

I thought the award was for singular years?

Sounds like Johnson back to the PS, but only Bennett getting activated as of now.

He was mostly benched already which tells you something

Hey now... don't knock it. He's got the same thing going on with him as happened to Alexander.

Or do we only get to be realistic about the reality of players when they play for other teams?

Is the roster at 53 with the Patrick Johnson gone or do they still need to release someone? If Dillon is still here by Monday, I want to know who he has pictures on.

whoa, the Herschel Walker deal part 2!

The Jets collecting future picks:

It's 52 with Bennett and Smith both needing to be activated from IR

I think to activate Smith & Bennett to 53 one more has to go

Jaelen Phillips excited to be out and joining Philly.

If they did all they did today and don’t trade Hall, WTF are they doing

Pissing off a guy whose going to walk and probably won't get a comp pick for him

Dolphins interim GM really lame. We got the best DE traded

Jerry: I've got a trade in place. Tomorrow. You're gonna see, just you wait!

Media and Cowboys fans: Ooh, is it Hendrickson? Crosby? Garett???

Jerry: it's a scrub coming off injury from the worst defense in the league, we got him for a 7th.

roll

Nothing like a cliff hanger to keep people tuning in to the soap opera known as "As the Cowboys Crumble".

If it weren't for the Jets this would have been a lame deadline day. Most of the players rumored to be on the block didn't move.

I know Calc is not the best blocking TE, but he's not awful. So I'd rather not have another blah OLineman added.

I've watched quite a few of Saquon TD runs from last season, and Calc was out there making some decent blocks on the edges.

If he's blocking on the move... he's not terrible.

If he's blocking in line... well, he's not actually blocking, but rather just lining up there, not actually blocking.
