If he works out and they extend him, the first round of the 2026 draft can go so many different ways. Can get a good corner at the end of the first round. He could be your number two with Mitchell on the outside. It allows Cooper DeJean to stay in the slot. Not only that you’re gonna have a couple cheap years of that secondary together. Furthermore, if lane Johnson retires, they could go offensive tackle. Could go pass rusher but becomes less urgent. could be that they go defensive tackle if one falls to them in that area. I say wide receiver, but I think it’s less likely they would do that but not out of the question.L as the line of demarcation for AJ Brown being on this team is the end of 2026. Because that’s when his contract has almost no guaranteed money left. the guy who runs sportrac discussed why that is really the time where the eagles are either gonna move off of him or give him an extension.

Agreed, the pendulum will shift a bit. Last year they let Sweat go because he had a mixed history and he's done well. I don't think they'll repeat that.

Jets should’ve taken that 4th. I imagine they are gonna get a 4th round comp pick in 2027 if he leaves. I doubt he is going to bring them a 3rd rounder if he signs elsewhere. And that’s if the jets don’t spend any money this offseason

Yup. His performance after the bye and SB also got him a nice contract. Helped FA class was weak so that also made it harder. Imo I also think the Eagles didn’t want to give him another contract and then that knee eventually deteriorated. I think his knee is still a ticking time bomb. You just don’t know when it was likely to happen. More risk on his 3rd contract at 28 going on 29. It was always a ticking time bomb and you were just hoping that you weren’t stuck in a contract when that bomb went off.

He’s been great for the cardinals. He’s going to get another chance at free agency as that was set up to be just a 2 year deal.

He also wanted to rework his contract with the jets cause he was unhappy. He doesn’t have much in guaranteed money for 2026 or 2027. There is a strong chance this off-season. He is going to want a new contract. And more guaranteed money. So Jerry Jones is about to go into another negotiation, with a star defensive lineman who has a lot of leverage as they just dealt a 1st and 2nd for him. Add on he still has to extend Pickens. Potentially they’re setting themselves up for another parsons type situation with multiple players because Jerry Jones just does whatever he wants

I don’t know if anyone posted this clip/quote but tells me if someone big becomes available it feels like eagles are willing and would make that move. Even if it costs them in draft capital and in their pockets

Every draft is supposed to be good 2 years prior…2 years ago the same was said about this previous draft which had basically zero blue chip talent.

I brought something like this up earlier. I’m conflicted about that trade. Because as good as the Colts are, Daniel Jones isn’t a franchise quarterback yet even though he’s played well for most of the first 9 weeks. I probably be more OK making that trade if that was Andrew luck playing quarterback and the Colts were this good.

The problem is, I don’t think you can make a judgment on Daniel Jones being the guy going forward after half a season. add on his last game was a disaster. What realistically could happen is that he turns back into a pumpkin either the rest of this year or next year and then you’re scrambling to get another quarterback without having your first round picks. It’s a big-time risk to trade those two first round pics with question marks about jones going forward and the Qb position.

Yeh, it's a mixed bag in Texas, just like anywhere else especially in the south, there's good people, and there's people you just don't spend much time around if you can avoid it, and East Texas has plenty of those folks. I am 13 miles from Greenville. Crazy people there back in the day, related to cotton, they had a sign entering the town that said "blackest land whitest people", it wasn't meant to be a slight (or so they say) but a reference to the fertile black soil for the cotton industry. Horrible decision to put it up either way, they finally took it down in the 60's but my grandmother, who worked in fields herself, used to tell us about how horrible the racism was in the area. Poor doesn't know color is what she always told us, anyway, that's a sensitive subject and I have prob said too much already, I'm glad she raised us the way she did. Good people are good people, and you can always tell by the way they treat you, I'll leave it at that.

You in Wylie or Rockwall, Fate, Royce City? Wife’s uncle and two cousins live in Wylie. I could understand wanting to get away from the suburbs and traffic in that area. I used to stop for food at a couple places on the lake but not anymore. I even dread the Spec’s in Fate. (Some high school football stadium, there in Royce City. While PA is a football state, not sure folks here can fathom Texas High School stadiums. (In Houston our HS stadiums sat around 12k.).

I remember the sundown signs from when I was a kid up until the 80s. (When Vidor, home of the grand dragon of the KKK, finally took its sign down). And kids with baseball bats enforcing. (They moved onto Montrose, the hippie, arts and gay area of Houston in the 70s).

I think some moves didn’t happen cause there’s some bad organizations that make bad decisions. The Jets also should’ve traded Hall for a 4th round pick. If he leaves in free agency, the odds are you’re probably only getting a fourth round compensatory pick in 2027 and that’s if the Jets don’t use any other cap money just go. Which seems unlikely, considering the fact the roster needs an infusion of talent. Not only that compensatory pick is not gonna be until 2027.

Then you got a team like the Bengals with Hendrickson. The Bengals owner notoriously does stupid things like this and not trade guys. He is going to leave in free agency this off-season. They’re not going to franchise him. So at most you’re gonna get a 2027 3rd round compensatory pick. They were asking for a 1st. I am guessing there was probably a team out there that was willing to give up a third round pick for Hendrickson. So instead of trading him and getting that third round pick in 2026 instead of 2027, you held onto him for what reason? The defense stinks with him. The defense is going to continue to stink with him. And he’s gonna leave in FA and you’re not getting anything for him until 2027.

I thought it was reported that we did call about Parsons but Dallas wasn't trading to us?

Disagree. He looked awful in the preseason and did not earn a roster spot. They even showcased him in the final preseason game and cut him because they knew he wasn’t getting claimed. The plan was DTR or McCord to be #3 and neither earned the job.

yeah. I was a McCord guy pre-draft. Sadly, he did not play well. I still have hope for him next pre-season since he is on the PS.

That was the report. I’m guessing they probably called and Dallas was never in a million years trading Micah Parsons to us. I think the Myles Garrett thing is less the eagle wouldn’t give up what it would cost to get him. I think it’s more the Browns don’t wanna move him.

Tbh the browns really should consider it. They are a disaster on offense. They don’t have a franchise Qb. They don’t have WRs. Their oline stinks. Their defense is ok but has holes too. If they find a franchise Qb and build this up it’s like 3 years (it’s the browns so that is being generous). Garrett at that point is 33 and likely declining and not the same dominant player. They should really maximize on Garrett to help build up that roster.

Aren't they stuck with Watson for a few more years because of that hideous contract? I do think it would have been smart earlier in the year to trade him but I'm biased because I want him here lol
