In fact I don’t really remember a recent Eagle I disliked at all. Maybe I hated their play but they mostly seemed like decent dudes.AJ seems like a real garbage person to me. If it wasn’t football and he was your friend he’d be one of those dudes that’s not happy when you’re succeeding unless he’s doing better than you are. He’s also a liar. Pretending he’s only mad about the offense in general when we have him on video (on numerous occasions) causing problems on the sidelines when the team is doing great but he isn’t getting touches. He says he isn’t T.O., and he’s right, but only because T.O. was a better player. He’s just as bad selfishly. you do you. No offense awful take on multiple things. Aj is far from most hated players by most people. Can be annoyed or irritated by him saying what he did. Thats different. We’ve had some horrific POS guys come through here. Also guys say worse things then he did but like malik Jackson.Furthermore what AJ said would eventually happen if the offense didn’t get itself together is not shockingly playing out. Frankly i hated and irritated how he went about it but what he explained is exactly correct.

At least not this year. You always hear people say the 2 most important things in football, besides QB, are the O and D lines. Basically the eagles. Engine and transmission can be much worse in sirianni and patullo. But the last 4 weeks hurts and the breaks haven’t been good.
December 1Dec 1 I can see almost everything getting straightened out here by playoff game number 1. From a healthier offensive line to a more rested defensive line. To better play-calling in the playoffs. My only reservation, where I don't see a flaw being overcome is CB2 & Safety2. To a point, we can overcome maybe one of those issues, but not both. That's the new dilemma here for me. Brown and Jackson can not be your starters on a Superbowl team here. Gotta hope Bennett & Carter are the answers. Not too confident that they are.

I would add that the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant was in his Osteria on Broad Street. While I'm grumbling about restaurants, let me throw a rock at Kalaya. The food is fantastic but the place is so loud that it's impossible to enjoy it. I much prefer JJ Thai on Chestnut street. Wonderful food beautifully presented and it's a BYO.I left Philly back in 2012 but try to come back to check out the food scene periodically. I think there is a time and place for the Michelin style meals with tiny presentation focused servings and tons of courses….but Vetri really isn’t that either. I’ve given it more than one chance and just couldn’t get into it. The service also seemed to have the attitude that every guest was lucky to be there.

Or maybe he’s holding his word to the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles after he had a on the practice field meeting.This. AJ already stopped posting on social media and his media answers were improved after Lurie talked with him.

December 1Dec 1 1 hour ago, Alphagrand said:The way I read Hurts' contract, the Eagles have a decision to make on him after next season (2026). His guaranteed money is paid out at that point; If they chose to, they could likely move him after the 2026 season if there is a willing trade partner. My assumption as of right now is the Eagles will further extend him, especially if they can make another deep playoff run this season.I'd be cautious about giving him another extension, though. Both McNabb and Vick were starting to resemble stale yogurt by about 31 years old. As often as Hurts gets dinged up, that would give me pause. This is where Howie shines. People questioned him extending Hurts early. One reason was Howie was getting ahead of other QBs who went on to get expensive deals. He had already managed to get out of the Wentz contract. Howie is good at leaving himself options and thinking ahead. They can evaluate where to go after this season and next. Howie must be upset because he built a championship roster and this roster is still great and able to repeat as champions on paper. So likely they will make a change at OC this offseason and Howie/Lurie will insist on another outside experienced OC like Steichen or Moore, to get the most out of the offense. If they can win again in 2026 then there's yet another decision on that OC, does he get a HC offer or can they get an OC to stay at least 2 years? If things go in the direction of them wanting to move on from Hurts (and perhaps him wanting to go elsewhere also) then after the 2026 season his dead money for a pre-June 1st trade is only $32m. When he traded Wentz, the dead money was $33m so around the same. There are enough teams that would be looking to improve their QB position and expect that Hurts with his experience and winning (points to keep him here as well) would help them get over the top so assuming they found a trade partner that Hurts approved of due to the no trade clause, then the dead money after 2026 won't stop him.The issue is his replacement. That's why they should have benched Hurts in the Bears game and put in McKee to see does he provide a spark or something different? Reid once benched McNabb. QBs shouldn't be immune to benching like any other player, sometimes even great QBs just have an off day. But there are a lot of worse QBs than Hurts (when he has a good OC) and so if you're drafting a guy are you getting a bust, average or good QB? And how high are you able to pick? It's a risk. But they weigh that risk depending on how the rest of this season and next go. If they get a new OC and Hurts doesn't perform then it becomes a reality to move on after 2026. Howie doesn't want this championship roster wasted. Lurie wants a more explosive passing offense and to score points.Salary cap wise they'll also have Lane Johnson's contract (apart from the dead money) off the books as he likely retires this year or definitely next year. Then there's AJ Brown who's dead money after 2026 if traded pre-June 1st is $43m. So you don't do both him and Hurts in the same offseason, so there's a decision. Do they want to risk a rookie QB and keep AJ Brown? Do they trade Brown and see if it works with Hurts and a new OC? A lot of football to evaluate between now and the end of next season before those decisions are made. Plus Howie has to pay the young core defensive players.

December 1Dec 1 I'm not against moving on from Hurts. While I will defend Hurts I am also critical. I just don't like the extreme arguments either way. He is what he is. He has a certain ceiling, has his strengths and limitations. There are games I've said he should be benched (this last Bears game, the Cowboys game last year for examples). He's never going to be a top passer in the league and with the talent he has around him we all expect more from the passing game, to say the least. The fact is, he's here at least through 2026 so there's no change coming at QB this season or next. Now, if he is playing badly again the rest of this season and they lose again a lot of us would say bench him, put in McKee, let's see what he has. I don't know that Siri would do that, he hasn't been making other necessary changes so I don't know that he would bench Hurts. If it's true that Hurts refuses to do certain things AND the coaches allow it, benching him may be needed to humble him I don't know. But Siri really sticks up for his players and doesn't seem to be that type so we'll see.But if he gets another new OC who is experienced and is calling a competent offense like Steichen and Moore did but Hurts isn't performing, next season will help show that. I care most about the team and Howie has actually become so much better at drafting that we have a great window. I want the team to win. I believe they can win with Hurts, which they've proven already. The OC is terrible this year, and Hurts passing is bad this year. It's an awful combination. So the organization is going to see how they can maximize things with another OC this offseason. But if they make a change, I do think they need to get a better passing QB to maximize the talent around him. They also need the O line to get back to form, both from current guys getting surgeries and proper recovery and drafting talent to beef up the O line with depth and development for future starters. Barkley and Tank should be dominating and destroying teams in the running game and that's gone this year.

December 1Dec 1 54 minutes ago, NOTW said:Exactly. Because the QB dictates that the scheme has to be this way. When will you people get it?
December 1Dec 1 5 hours ago, Alphagrand said:That’s true, but a lot of posters in here heaped credit on Hurts and his ability to open up the running game for the RBs. Went so far as to say Hurts was the primary reason for the team’s running success and it would suffer with a different QB.I would argue there doesn’t need to be any designed runs in the playbook for Hurts to take off running; he did an abundance of that in his first 2-3 seasons. I’m more inclined to agree with McLane’s speculation that it’s something he doesn’t wish to do as much. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that by definition — it just needs to be recognized by the coaching staff and, as you said, development of a suitable running attack with that factor in mind.Hmm... we are seeing it suffer while Hurts is running far less. Maybe there's a kernel of truth to that idea.Part of the issue is that they don't use the middle of the field, and they really aren't a threat throwing the ball... so having Hurts force the defense to account for him in the running game might actually be a significant benefit, especially when most defenses don't really fear the passing game we throw at them week in and week out. We saw that in the Super Bowl. Spags dared the Eagles to beat them throwing the ball. And the results were pretty good, in that one game. But they didn't have to rely on the passing game in that game to be great, to beat Mahomes in a shoot out. They just had to be efficient and let the defense swarm... and that's what they were. The passing game in the Super Bowl wasn't great, it was efficient.
December 1Dec 1 57 minutes ago, DaBirds said:🤷🏼♂️ maybe, but Seth is correctNot a Seth fan post playing career but he is 100% correct. AJ has smiled more and clearly been in a better mode after the last two games when the team lost and he got a lot of targets, as opposed to the weeks prior where the team won and he didnt do much. If anyone can't see that this guy cares more about personal stats than winning I don't know what to tell them.
December 1Dec 1 Lurie/Howie could have just sat AJ down and have a convo with him about the "distraction"
December 1Dec 1 The coaching staff thinks Calcaterra is a good lead blocker, won't give Tank Bigsby the ball at all, thinks running up the middle on 75% of first downs is a good idea despite the fact that it barely ever works, runs more hitch routes than a pee wee team, and doesn't have an understanding of how motion can manipulate a defense and create matchups. Yet people are still insisting it's the QB's fault that the scheme is trash. Laughable. The QB has been bad in recent weeks and needs to be better but anyone with even a slightly below average IQ can still see that this team's biggest problem on offense is the coaching and it's not even close.
