I think Phillips is going to be a great pickup. Less sure of CB options but I think they’ll find a combo that is solid

The Cowboys and LeBron are not a football team and a basketball player.

Both are Corporate Brands 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Any actual games are of minor concern.

The Micah situation made ESPN say Cowboys 37 times a day. That was Jerrah's Super Bowl.

Also, what are the odds that Jerrah will call Quinnen Williams by the name Quincy?

When he speaks I try not to listen, seriously, I just can't listen to him. Someone should do an AI generated version of Beavis & Butthead with him and Stephen talking football nonsense because that's what it looks like to me.

Yeah. I hear that Texas is on a different level when it comes to High Scool football.

Eh, they definitely spend more money, but good players come from all over, more prob from the southern states on average but PA and OH produce a ton of great players too. It's a numbers game, a lot of kids play football in Texas starting at ridiculous young ages. IMO the best states for football talent are FL, TX, CA, PA, and OH from a numbers perspective and in no particular order.

The Howell move was precipitated by the injury to McKee. If he had been healthy for Week 1, then the Eagles likely would have just let McCord get through to the PS and not have worried about QB3. But having traded for Howell, they will hold on to him to flip later, if they can.

Agreed 100%. You beat me to it.

I think PHI is going to set the league on notice within a couple of weeks with the additions made recently. The additional pass rush help will help solve a lot of the CB concerns a lot of you seem to have. Ya'll are stressing way to much, enjoy the ride man. Ya'll are doing it right.

Yeah 76ers blew a huge lead. The Bulls now go to 6-1 76ers 5-2.

Still a very young team - some growing pains - but with as much talent as they have, they’ll be fine, imo.

As long as they dont do the silly Embiid isolation game. Ball stopped moving, guys standing around, and Embiid fumbling and bumbling the game away.

Phillips spent his career surrounded by soft losers. He's going to elevate his game around these guys.

I drove past that place a lot back in the day. Huge. The other big one was the Dragon stadium in Carroll.

Embiid is a loser. Can't move on from him soon enough

In fairness, they blew the majority of the lead when Embiid was on the bench. But yeah, the last few minutes were difficult to watch.

Him coming back seems to have set the kid back a bit. I haven't been watching outside of checking the box, though

Embiid should get 20 first half minutes for a little scoring pop and then not be seen again. So season long, that is how you use him.

Even then, he slows the ball down but at least when his legs are fresh he's shooting well enough to help a team.

Rebounding is a huge issue for this team. Bona is a huge disappointment in that regard and in thought maybe Embiid minutes would be good late. Well, he came in and didn't rebound either.

While 4th quarter, while trying to preserve a lead should have been Drummond. He grabs boards. Extends possessions. Milks clock, and gives 2nd chance opportunities. That's how you leave a lead.

Drummond didn't play at all. Nurse is a basketball idiot. He lost it for them just as much as Embiid did. Because Nurse doesn't know how to use his players. Didn't recognize how bad Embiid was killing them. And has already run Maxey in to the ground.

You know what's worse than spending the golden era of Eagles history complaining about Hurts and Howie? Spending it complaining about people complaining about Hurts and Howie.

Of course, I'm complaining about people complaining about people complaining about Hurts and Howie. So that makes me the worst.

Well, there's a guy who wants to "ban the blog." So there's that. lol

This is DAL on Day Two of the ‘26 Draft as they only have 2 picks in round one, and one pick in each of the 4th, 5th, and 7th rounds.

They’ll probably trade back from one of the picks to get day 2 picks

The Sixers are so much more fun to watch when Embiid is off the court and I'm an Embiid fan. Not his fault that he isn't what he used to be, and also his presence is just going to deter young guys from being assertive.

Yeh I am in Royse City, graduated here back in '88, married my hs girl and we're still holding it down. My kids were 4th generation RC graduates. I live about a mile from the hs and Buccees. It's just a lot different now and yeh the stadium is really nice but nothing compared to Allen, McKinney, Katy, Prosper, some have spent spend $80 million on stadiums. RC went quite a bit cheaper, as a tax payer I am thankful. The amount of money spent on football here in Texas is insane, hc coaches/AD making between $120k - $200k a year depending on the size of the district.

This was built in 2007, opened in 2009, resurfaced two years ago. Doesn't seat anything close to 12k, more like 8500.

There is nothing like playing on natural grass though...the smell, the mud when rains. Our society is so freaking spoiled.

I've visited a few places in TX a few times and I was stunned at the size of the high school stadiums in most places. One thing, among a couple, that I like about TX is TX football.

I wonder if HI and the Pacific Islands rank with all the Mormon (LDS) recruits to BYU, et al?

I have only watched 12 min of bball so far but I thought maybe they will figure it out based of what Edgecombe said about "having the big guy back there." Just felt like they have pieces and will work it out. I mean he is Joel Embiid, FFS, flaws and all. Should be able to make this work?

Georgia is in the top four. Otherwise I agree with you on all the others.

That would be true if Jerrah is smart. But we know Jerrah isn't smart. So, he'll likely trade UP with the late round picks to get into Day 2... or trade up higher in Day 1.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the guy doesn’t realize there’s only dozens of active members now vs hundreds (thousands on game days) when the board was with the Eagles.

The blog itself isn’t the reason for less activity in other sections/topics. The blog has also (somewhat) decreased in activity since the Eagles days - and that’s to be expected.

Message boards in general are beginning to take a back seat to other forms of social media like twitter, instagram, live streams, podcasts etc

That said - there isn’t a better place than the EMB for fans like us to express our opinions, imo - and within the EMB, the Blog is the best place for that as well.

Yeah early on I tried to create new topics here like the old board but there's just not enough people here. It's not like this blog has so many active things going on at once that you can't follow or participate.

And message boards are 'beginning' to take a back seat? That beginning was like 10-15 years ago roll

I've been on soooooo many boards over the years....I remember 20 years ago being on a MB with BigEd......it was such a great board, it had a page for every NFL team so you could go into the team you were playing next and message other team's fans. Was fantastic! Then it pivoted to the Philadelphia Eagles MB and now to this. I don't use Reddit, I don't use Insta, I don't use X....so this is good enough (Thank you VA) for me!

A sack would have been a better play than to throw this ball. The LOS was the 15 yard line. Under no circumstances, besides the very last play of the game, should this pass be thrown, ever.

Screenshot_20251104-082856.png

Even if the defender is immediately tackles on what should have been an easy pick, it's a touch back for the Panthers.

If Love gets sacked, it's Panthers ball at like the 17 yard line

While Love was scrambling around, he back tracks at one point all the way to the 34 yard line on that play. The one important detail you continue to gloss over is the fact that the WR quit on the play and if he had not, it likely would have just been a typical 50/50 ball. The receiver would have been flagged for an illegal touch, but Love had no way of knowing that when he threw the ball.

The play resulted in an incomplete pass and turnover on downs. Many other results could have happened, but did not.
