Slay has made his move to try and force Buffalo's hand. I actually had this last night from a good source. Wanted to post it, but doubted people would believe me.

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

Oh that is going to change in a big way starting this offseason. Stay tuned. Big things planned.

Plenty of people predicted yesterday that Slay would try and not play for them so he could go to Philly. It wasn't a huge leap to think that.

But, you did post it.

The Bills will likely hold him until after our game against them.

He's only going to play Dec, Jan, and Feb if all things go right anyway

And with the way this team is acting.. it may just be Dec unless Nick has the starters play the last game after not making it or we're locked into seeding and there's no point to play the last week

Slay can step right in too. Pittsburgh plays a ton of man and he simply can't run like that anymore. Lucky for us, we don't play a ton of that especially as we use Quinyon backside.

Possible, but I doubt they're scared of Darius Slay. This most likely will come down to if Rosenhaus can convince them to do right by his client or if they really are going to make a big thing of this.

Someone posted yesterday that the Steelers played almost 70% zone this season. Unless I read it wrong.

Hes better in man than zone.

So Patullo said egging his house crossed a line. I couldn't help but think if his offense had crossed a few more lines then that line probably wouldn't have been crossed. You know like the line of scrimmage, the line to make, the goal line.

This sounds the most logical to me as BUF is fighting to stay in the playoff race, currently holding the 7th and last seed. If I were scheduled to play PHI and I am fighting for a playoff spot why would I help a team that could keep me out of the playoffs? It will be interesting how this plays out. I was surprised to see BUF holds the #1 ranking in pass ydg allowed, however they are #29 in rushing yards allowed. I don't follow them much but I assume they had a recent injury in the secondary maybe?

Yeah. Slay is a plug and play starter for us. So, its costing Buffalo nothing to grab him for a couple weeks and prevent us from having a starting CB when we play them.

You’d think it would be the opposite at his age.

RLC was saying he struggled in man.

Either way I guess he’s not coming here unless the Bills let him? If he refuses to go can they just hang on to his rights?

RLC doesnt know ball. He was a 4.3 guy. He is still fast while he has lost 2 steps off his long speed. You will occasionally see him beat down field now against fast WRs. Hes still a good man cover CB. All of his struggles, in his bad season in Philly, and this year in Pittsburgh come when in zone coverage. Hes still been good in man. Always been an elite cover guy.

This is what a quick Google search says (if we can trust it's accuracy):

If an NFL player is claimed on waivers and does not report, they will be placed on a "reserve/did not report" list, which freezes their contract and pay until they report. The claiming team may also choose to simply release the player instead, which would then make the player a free agent again, potentially re-entering the waiver wire.

  • Frozen contract: By not reporting, the player's contract is frozen, and they will not be paid until they join the team that claimed them.

  • Team can release the player: The team that claimed the player can cut them, which would make the player a free agent again.

  • Re-entering the waiver wire: If released, the player re-enters the waiver wire, and the cycle repeats until they are claimed and report, or are not claimed and become a free agent.

  • Team inherits the contract: When a player is claimed, the new team inherits the player's existing contract, which means the player is not available to negotiate a new deal at that time.

Need to know how long he was dealing with this cause we heard about a shoulder earlier in the year. If he had this issue going into the bye week then probably should’ve done it then.

No reason to rush Carter or Lane back for the Raiders game. The Raiders are they bad and they've quit that much. After that, we'll assess where the Eagles are in relation to the Cowboys and if they can be a little more cautious.

Better hope Dallas loses tonight though.

I don't understand the "do right" to him. They owe him nothing.

I think the Jalen Carter extension is officially of the table at the moment

It's probably already been discussed but why is Slay subject to waivers as a vet?
