It cost them a roster spot to claim him but now that he said he's not reporting they can just put him on the did not report list to open the spot and sign back the guy they cut yesterday. Not so fast. On waivers. Eagles can claim that guy. Or any other team can. Bills come out looking dumb here is my guess.

No doubt there is some clause in the players’ agreement. Not sure what you mean by a clause in the players agreement...It's pretty simple. Bills claimed him, Bills own his rights. He needs to report immediately. If he does not, he gets moved either to "reserve/did not report" list or "reserve/retired" list. Both act the same in essence. It freezes pay and doesn't count to their roster spot.
December 4Dec 4 Built-in injury excuses for this season: Jurgens, Johnson, Dickerson, Carter, Nolan Smith, Dean to start the season.

While I have been told here that the Eagles have great depth and the best roster in the league. NOPE!

At what point can the Bills designate him formally as "did not report”?

That would say far more about the Bills than anything else.Bills aren't gonna win diddly squat with that coach and their bad roster construction around Allen. They may not make the playoffs. Kinda like the Cowboys. Lot of hype, but no substance. FAKE NEWS!

The agent via the player said they aren't reporting. I don't see what the holdup would be.

Lot of hype but no substance. FAKE NEWS!I can tell you from talking to people around the league that Slay and Rosenhaus are under the impression Slay will wind up back with the Eagles. That is the expectation. There is a reason multiple people reported a reunion was probably going to happen yesterday when they knew he could be claimed. We'll see if that comes to fruition. Maybe the Bills wait til after the Eagles game, who knows.

So now it comes down to if they don't care if they essentially just end his playing career now or allow him to play for a few more weeks where he wants to.What do you think would be fair? 3 steaks from one of the better shops to Buffalo, Slay's rights and a dozen original wings from the Anchor Inn to Philly?
December 4Dec 4 Speaking of Alexander, the Eagles removed that trade from their transaction list for the year. I wonder if the trade voided at some point.

Which honestly, the Bills should throw in a first round pick for if it's as good as everyone says.

Maybe the Bills wait til after the Eagles game, who knows.Shouldn't even matter now. Probably won't have to face Jalen Carter. If Slay truly wants to retire, then so be it. But if he wants to play it sorts itself out and he ends up here. I had the last 2 weeks of season as a good time to rest up and heal up guys if Eagles can close this division fast. That Bears loss stings with that endeavor. Seeding is irrelevant to me. There only job now is to get to the Playoffs with a healthy team, as they lack depth and can't afford to play key injured/worn out starters a ton of snaps that they need later to play potentially 4 crucial games.

December 4Dec 4 Gotta think BG sees some snaps inside, and Robinson gets on the field. But JD and Ojomo going to play a lot. They have both been better than JC this year for the most part.

I couldn't help but think if his offense had crossed a few more lines then that line probably wouldn't have been crossed. You know like the line of scrimmage, the line to make, the goal line. He's not wrong. He's been bad, but that doesn't give folks the right to egg his house. There are worse things that could have happened, but they still crossed a line in doing so. Not cool.

December 4Dec 4 Phillips can also play inside and he's quite good at it. The way McLane has framed the Carter shoulder issues it sounds like it's wear and tear more than an actual injury. He played a ton of snaps last season, people complained about it then and maybe in hindsight rightfully so.
