EMB Blog: 2025 Regular Season (Part 2) ... and Playoffs

At this point, watching Barkley get swallowed up on nearly every carry (aside from the one he broke) and still not giving Tank a few carries is wild. What’s the harm? I know there are bigger concerns, but damn. It’s maddening.

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

The window was there. Great play by the DB, but Hurts put it in harms way. Just a little air and that’s first and goal.

It's the job of the coaches to get their players to perform and it's much bigger than just this game. I've been saying Sirianni needs to go if this continues for weeks. Sirianni is having a horrendous season. As bad of a coaching job as I've seen since the Rich Kotite.

Yup

This is an offense that has 10 of 11 starters returning from a super bowl win and they all look like theyve never met eachother before

Barkley misses huge cut back lanes every week.

I remember week two saying barkley left a lot in the bone, maybe all those carries damaged his eyes.

The O line is one if the worst in football, I said the same back in about week 4. Dickerson and Jurgens shouldnt be playing, I dont care if theyre warriors theyre actively hurting the team by being on the field

The coaching decisions from top to bottom all year have been atrociously bad, and that goes for Stout too.

Vic and the Defense get a pass, theyve played well despite getting zero help from the O and having a banged up Jalen Carter all year, hes an impact player when healthy.

seems Siri is out of answers and maybe his players are starting to tune him out.

3 facts need to be accepted:

  1. The 2025 Eagles are broken and will not be fixed this year.

  2. Jalen Hurts is not the qb of the future.

  3. Neither of the above facts detracts from what Hurts and the team did in winning the SB last year.

Good luck in this draft…

Herbert has got to be sore as hell over the next 3-4 days. He got crushed so many times

Even if this team trips into the playoffs, there's no way in hell they can go into next season with the Sirianni and Hurts duo. They just can't. This thing is so broken. And we both know bringing in an new OC isn't going to change much. Just like Moore didn't. He changed a little, but not a ton. There's no way you can have a functional organization where you essentially tell your head coach to pound sound and give up all your responsibilities and not alienate him to where it doesn't impact his coaching... which sucks as it is. So if the plan is to fire Patullo and hire some hot shot coordinator, that plan Fing sucks. This team needs wholesale change. And I've seen it before where something is broken and they stick with it just a bit too long and the thing starts to impact future years.

But going into this duo again next season will be a disaster. It'll start off next season with bad vibes right from the jump. The staleness and the stink still on the team.

Replace Patullo with Johnson and this was the exact sentiment two years ago. Then what happened?

Whatever happens here on out, this is officially another 2023. We’re now 2-5 in our last 7

Nah. Start McKee and see what he can do

This season, absolutely. But even if he’s starter quality we can’t afford to pay him after next season.

Here’s a controversial take…

If I’m Howie, I’m at least trying to figure out what I could get for Barkley…

Hurts since the bye has been flamin’ hot raunchy swamp arse. Prior to that he was mediocre at least. I’d sit him against the Raiders and let McKee get some time with the ones. No way they have the balls to do it though.

Maybe. But the guys we thought we on the team aren't on the field. Johnson and Carter are out. Mailata, Dickerson, and Jurgens are not the players they were last season. Neither is Brown. We can't just walk out on the field and out-talent the opponent like last season.

Which is why an experienced OC was needed.

I don’t think there is a realistic way to draft and groom a qb into action before the talent on this team erodes. It simply takes too long. AJ will be long gone, they’ll need all new weapons besides Smith, and an overhauled OL.

If someone really believes in this roster, then either McKee needs to turn into Brady (or at least 2001 Brady, not prime Brady) or they need to figure out something with a veteran.

Regardless, they need to divest from their cap commitments on offense. They can’t have this kind of money wrapped up in a bottom 5 unit.

It takes 1 season.

  1. Jake Elliott is on the verge of being cooked

Maybe. I'll criticize him for the bad decision AND the crappy throw.

They had the best defense in franchise history, the best running game in NFL history, and incredible injury luck, and playoff matchup luck where the top seed was eliminated for them in the divisional round.

I really don't think Nick Sirianni did anything remotely special last season, and frankly, neither did Jalen Hurts if you look at his season on the whole.

I believe that season will prove to be a one time thing and without those aspects of the team playing at a historically great level, they just don't have what it takes as a duo.

Yup way to flat of a pass. Hurts touch last year was clutch, this year hes obviously regresssed.

Should have been a pylon shot where doton gets or no one gets it

Instead he throws a flat loli pop way too inside and we all saw the result☹️

Unless I'm missing something they are 4-3 their last 7.

Tough to tell from that angle but the window was there, the WR wasn’t. Looked behind Dotson.

Yeah I count wrong, 4-5 in their last 9

Not much to get excited about considering where we’re picking and who we’d be bidding against to trade up for a QB.

They are 4-3 but agree with everything else

This wasn't a loss because of a lack of talent. Even without Carter and Lane and the OL being smashed up, we were still very well positioned to win this game.

This was a complete lack of focus, execution, and mental toughness. They were slowly melting down all game and landing just enough punches to keep it close. I thought heads needed to roll after last week but now, if something major doesn't happen this will be a complete trash loss of a season

Then you’d only be half right.

Feels like 2-5
