This season, absolutely. But even if he’s starter quality we can’t afford to pay him after next season.

Howie is always looking in the draft

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

Here’s a controversial take…

If I’m Howie, I’m at least trying to figure out what I could get for Barkley…

See what you can get for qb1

Smitty is probably the only redeemable player on offense right now. Everyone else has gotten dramatically worse since last year and even the beginning of the season.

Was thinking that too. Hurts brutal for sure recently especially yesterday but the entire offense has regressed except Devonta. And you can say chicken/egg but I think the players are worse on their own

Exactly

Well if you won't apologize to HE, at least give him one of your famous old fashions

Our passing game was our biggest problem on offense last season, a season with a star OL and 2 top 10-15 WRs, and we promoted the "passing game coordinator.”

We wasted a SB window season for a Nick Sirianni heat check.

We gave extensions to oft injured players Cam and Landon

Also gave an extension to Nick. Though it doesn't impact the cap

Hurts is here until 2026 or 27. I don't remember

This is our world

Hurts will probably want an extension this offseason too.

Too many posts that got my attention to quote. So I'm just going to add my 2 cents. The offense has a lot of problems. But the first one, the biggest one, is that the play calling is consistently atrocious. You can't address anything until you fix that. Because it's difficult to know what is a result of the atrocious play calling and what is just players not playing well. Besides being atrocious, plays are coming in late and in most situations even if Jalen looks at the defense and knows he's in a bad play, he doesn't have time to audible. I could make a really long post about all the things the bad play calling affect. But those of you who understand football already know. And I'm not wasting my time trying to educate those of you who don't.

Right, right, the whole offense would be unlocked if Hurts just "anticipated"

If you actually believe this you're kidding yourself.

He made an anticipation throw to Smitty who fell down and the pass got picked.

His 3rd and 15 pass was 100% anticipation, probably the best throw of the season for him.

His last throw was an anticipation throw but Dotson and Goedert were like 5 yards away from each other.

Every freaking throw can't be an anticipation throw. I'll be the first to admit that Hurts isnt going to be out there threading needles all day long, but that doesn't have to be the only way to move the ball. The coaches should be able to help him out a little bit--especially if they're going to constantly put him in 2nd and 3rd and longs all game.

I've been mostly reading, doing very little posting. Just wanted to say you're one of the few on the board making any sense.

Since the bye week the Eagles offense has gotten significantly worse as they struggle to consistently move the ball and score.

Average point past 5 weeks:
Eagles 16.2

Chargers 22.2

Jets 17.6

Bills 27.2

Saints 15.6

Let that sink in for a bit. The Jets with Tyrod Taylor, Adonai Mitchell, John Metchie, and whatever warm body they can find are scoring more points than the Eagles the past 5 weeks.

I'm convinced Sirianni already stepped in during the bye week to help things out, and it has clearly gone in the wrong direction.

With the predictability of the offense and Hurts trying to force things to happen, turnovers are going too skyrocket. Like I said a few weeks ago, at its core this is Siriannis offense and it sucks. It doesn't matter who they get to call plays when the ingredients are rancid. Post 2023 season Siria was given the ultimatum to kick rocks or get someone in here that knew offense. They brought in Kellen Moore and the rest is history. Siri and KP did F all to retain any of that offensive knowledge. They don't even know how motion works, they never throw the ball to the player in motion.

The defense is the only thing keeping this whole thing from collapsing like 2023.

Eagles defense was great but played yet another game of 80+ plays. Feels like it’s been 4 in a row of over 70 in each. It’s not sustainable to keep having them out there and expecting them to do everything.

Not in any way trying to defend this disaster, but a quarter of the jets points over that 5 game span are special teams.

They average 13.4 taking away the KO and PR scores.

One fair to thing to say is there are players schemed open, with NFL windows to have the ball thrown into, but the ball usually doesn't go there if short to medium in length. Not sure what coaches can do more of in that situation.

Cooper is just

The running game in the 2nd half last night was horrendous. Aside from the tush push fake, every single run was stuffed it felt like. The Eagles can only win when they run the ball, we’ve seen a large enough sample now.

This is what you call scheming a WR open, and instead Jalen throws to AJ with 3 defenders around him. How do you not see the DT right in front of you? Dotson breaks the CB down and is open immediately, but Hurts had decided pre snap where he was going.

Herbert was beat the hell up by our defense. Can't imagine how his hand that recently had surgery felt after that game. We got away with punching. Don't remember who it was but they missed the ball and were hitting him. Last night could have been a lot more ugly if it weren't for the defense

As bad as Hurts played, they win the game fairly easily if Brown would just catch the damn ball. How deflated would the Chargers have been if the first play of the game is a TD, I don't understand how a guy who claims he is the best WR in the league can half ass long passes right into his arms. Can't imagine Chase et al doing that.

Dejean Davis Dean and Q put on a masterclass yesterday which is the worst part.

Young or Oj

If Dallas wins out, the Eagles are going to miss the playoffs. With the way they’re playing, I think the Eagles will lose one game to Washington and the bills game. At a minimum.

There are probably more examples

Something needs to change. Firing Patullo isn't easy, but benching Hurts is. Just take some balls to do it.

Maybe they should look into sealing the back side. How many times did a defender come in untouched and tackle Barkley before hes even at the los?

Yeah, the whole game.

Nothing is going to happen in the offseason except patullo and possibly moving AJ Brown, at the end of the day all jokes aside we will win the division and have 10-11 wins. That won’t warrant a crazy change of any kind.
