Nope. Both were to blame. Lousy throw into the middle of the field that forced the WR to leave his feet. Brown saw the LB closing on him where Hurts did not. The ball has to be lower.

It's easy to hate on AJ at the moment but Hurts needs to protect his receivers and not get them killed

He had time in the pocket to make a better throw

Good news. I got an email back from VABeach_Eagle, he is ok. He has been tending to his mother's health as she's been in the hospital, and exhausted lately. He says he will be more available to log on

My hope is that if the Eagles offense succeeds in 2026 that we just make whoever the OC is the HC. It’s clear as day now that Sirianni is not a good playcaller/offensive coach. He also is not good at putting the right coaches in place.

But no, that OC will end up leaving for a HC role and Siri will promote one of his guys that isn’t ready.

I said that with Kellen Moore after the 2023 season. If the offense succeeds, you really should fire Siri and keep the OC. And if it fails, then everyone is getting fired anyway. (That was after the 2023 collapse). Then they go ahead and win the SB, which was the one imaginable push scenario where the HC stays and the OC goes.

Unless they go ahead and win the SB in 2026, then I agree...they either need to fire everyone if it fails or make the OC the HC if the offense succeeds.

Remember those runs when he got like 20 plus yards. Now he can barely get 2

He got 30 on a scramble last night but it was called back due to holding.

Dejean Davis Dean and Q put on a masterclass yesterday which is the worst part.

It's gonna suck losing Dean in the offseason.

Imo they aren’t losing cause of aj brown getting the ball. The offense all year has been super inconsistent and they won games in ways that weren’t actually sustainable. At some point the offense scoring 21 or less in 8 of 9 games was going to eventually be an issue. add on when you have 9 turnovers in 3 games (could’ve easily been 11 if not for overturning a horrible hurts throw and covey recovering his own fumble on a punt), routinely having bad penalties and mistakes on offense is a massive issue.

Dont get me wrong, Aj is to blame for not making catches he should make and having dumb penalties but we are losing cause Aj is getting his is an easy cop out when the signs this offense in general has been a massive issue outside of a giants game in week 8 and a half here or there. the eagles were winning ugly as heck with an offense that success rate and EPA is comparable to some of the worst teams in the nfl.

That was never going to be sustainable. It is like 2023 except offense is the bigger issue than that year it was the defense. Weren’t going to keep winning games in fashion they were. Like being down 26-7 to the rams, going 3 and out a record rate or scoring 26 points in 2 games.

When a player whines and they try and placate him, it

makes you concentrate on him and maybe not who else might be open or what is best for the team

Not a perfect throw but any #1 WR should be making that reception and for sure a top 5 WR.

Yea, I don't really get this argument. Hurts needed to throw a better ball. He didn't, so AJ needed to make the catch. He didn't, so it was intercepted.

It's both their fault.

AJ is a chiseled 225 lbs. He's not made of glass or something, the defender hitting him would feel it just as much as AJ would. He needed to make that catch if he wants to call himself a goofy nickname he made up on his own and be considered an elite WR in the NFL. Snag it, secure it, and take the hit. He's a big dude, he'll be alright.

The thing about AJ and his "antics” is, if you’re going mouth off about not being involved enough, you’d better perform to the highest standard. His silly stuff didn’t only put a lot of pressure on the team, but also on him. And he failed last night when it counted.

This is essentially what AJ Brown did on national TV last night...

fail-ups-boom.gif

Last night's loss was 99% on Hurts, 1% on coaching.

The only play call I had an issue with was the WR screen to Smith on 3rd and 11. No chance at all that gets close to a first down even if Smith doesn't drop it. Other than that, there were Eagles receivers open very regularly. The game plan was fine, and the play designs were fine. I listened to the first quarter on Westwood One radio and Kurt Warner was pointing out open receivers on almost every failed Eagles play. I turned on the national TV broadcast afterward and Troy Aikman was pointing out misses with regularity. They can see it very easily -- Hurts just isn't seeing the field well and isn't trusting his receivers when he does see it.

This roster was built to repeat as SB Champions. Chiefs done. The league was ours.

Patullo sucks. Hurts worst season. O line injuries & run game issues. F.

As an opposing team devote 80% - 90% of your effort to stopping the run. Make the Eagles passing game beat you, confuse QB#1 with non-standard D looks. Victory.

Here's the argument. No QB makes a perfect throw on every attempt but a top WR should always come down with a ball that is entirely catchable and the pass in question was very catchable.

I really think Brian Daboll is the absolute perfect OC for the Eagles in 2026.

He has worked with Hurts. He has benched Hurts. He is the guy responsible for refining Josh Allen, a far more talented but similarly enigmatic and erratic passer, into his best passing seasons. He is familiar with the division.

He's a bit ballsy and impulsive...and this is a 1 year job anyway. Either he fails and we get a whole new coaching staff anyway or he hits it out of the park and he's interviewing for new jobs or taking Siri's job.

Last night's game was a tale of two QBs.

Herbert was playing with a broken hand, getting pounded on out there, sacked 7 times while escaping 3-4 more, his elbow was bloodied, he was simply getting beat up. He didn't play great -- he couldn't complete passes in the intermediate or deep zones of the field at all. What he did do was make the plays when he needed to, often times all by himself. He limited his mistakes. Although not pretty, his play and effort were inspiring to his team and coach.

Hurts was agonizingly bad for most of the game. The interceptions were ALL his fault to some degree; if the WR has to leave his feet for a throw in the middle of the field, it's not a good throw. Hurts was consistently very late delivering the passes or didn't see the easy throws at all. All of the interceptions (with the exception of the ball through Brown's hands) demonstrated Hurts' limitations as a passer. No excuse for the first one, and even dumber was fumbling the ball away when he was lucky enough to have a teammate force a fumble that bounced right to him. Did he not know it became first down if he just falls down? The second INT for Smith the CB simply ate his lunch money. The last INT the ball was thrown late -- so, so late. Dotson was WIDE open if the ball is delivered 1 - 1.5 seconds sooner.

The ridiculous throw-away at the end of the first half was maddening as well. The game clock got reset to 10 seconds and I'm convinced Hurts had no idea. He played that like there was only 7 seconds left and abandoned the play when his first read was covered. These kinds of instances with zero situational awareness cannot happen to your starting QB.

I thank Hurts for the big-time playoff performances last season, but he's just not a good enough QB to be really good every year. He's going to have inconsistency even at this point in his career. At this point I'm REALLY hoping they don't give him another contract extension.

Herbert ran effectively. He was better passing because he didn't turn the ball over as much. Hurts had a terrible game That being said, I don't think replacing him leads to a much better offense.

If I could only keep 2 of Dejean, Mitchell, and Carter....I'd let Carter walk. I'm not trying to hate on Carter, as I would gladly subtract any TWO players on offense just to keep Carter. But I think he's priority #3 on defense at this point.

What impact does Hurts have on the run game and its overall decline?

I can not stand this forced narrative that Hurts makes the run game go. The NFL's top 5 rushers

  1. Jonathan Taylor - does the threat of Daniel Jones running make their run game go?

  2. James Cook - This one is tough, but I watch quite a bit of the Bills due to FF, and Cook is just really good, but Allen is a real threat.

  3. DeVon Achane - does the threat of Tua running make their run game go?

  4. Bijan Robinson - does the threat of Penix/Cousins running make their run game go?

  5. Jahmyr Gibbs - does the threat of Goff running make their run game go?

No one is asking for a perfect throw. Going a bit on the extreme there

the way they were winning wasn’t sustainable. Hate him for complaining and whining but was more how he wen about doing it. he wasn’t inaccurate in what he was saying though. make him the fall guy as he was dumb for how he went about saying it. But the eagles have had passing game issues for better part of 2.5 years. He’s the micro issue compared to the macro issue of an inept passing game and in general that needed a historic generational rushing attack to be competent on offense.

Imo if you think gonna just consistently have historic rushing attacks every year to win big and have 30th ranked passing attack it’s not a recipe for sustainable success every year.

He’d be a better HC than Siri

I don't disagree. But I'm not excusing one or the other. Ultimately on that play, it starts with Hurts and ends with AJ. Both needed to make the play, but didn't.

The point is the throw was good enough and should have been caught. You seem to be only one saying the pass shouldn't have been caught.

That'd be funny if they did bench Hurts and somehow McKee makes the offense look good under KP

Uno reverse lol

From a pure ego perspective for Daboll, it would fit. A 1 year tune up in a well run team, with a QB he knows.

Would that ego fit into the Novacare? Not sure all the doors could cope trying to get them all through at once.

Absolutely not. What a joke this has become. Yes our WR who is paid millions cant raise his arms for a catch now, boo hoo.

Guy wants to sulk an cry on social media, now he's got the attention and dogs it and plays scared

Both things can be true, it can be a hospital ball and AJ had piss poor effort. Ertz just got his knee blown out on a similar throw
