January 12Jan 12 I think given what’s ahead of us the time is right to move on from Sirianni. To thank him for the highs and to move on.Why? Because the time is coming where we need to invest more cap in to the defense. And so we are going to need to get more out of the offense with likely less talent. Sirianni isn’t the offensive mind we need to do that and with him as HC the offense merry go round will continue. The likelihood is that AJ is gone. There should be conversations about Hurts (not saying move on but they need to make a decision on his contract in the not too distant future). Lane may retire. The OL struggled this year and who knows if that was wear and tear from the SB run or whether Jurgens and Dickerson are just too worn down to get back to where they were. Jurgens especially was really bad this year. Saquon didn’t quite look the same (though he’s still really damn good). Goedert may be gone. The offense is going to see a lot of change and Sirianni isn’t the man to oversee that.

The only way they fire Nick is if he refuses to do that which he won’t. All of the things you mentioned as needing to happen will be all of the things Howie needs to address. This is a huge offseason for Howie.

I agree they’ll make him hire an experienced OC and probably next year things will be a bit better…

Now if next season they struggle all bets are off and Nick’s tenure in Philly is probably over if the team tanks. Sirianni is like an emotional toddler, and his lack of playcalling ability is costing this team offensive consistency, but he wins a lot of football games. They’re not firing the head coach after another double digit win season and a playoff appearance.

There’s going to be a lot of offensive change and I think to do that you need stability on offense. That stability doesn’t come when your HC is not a good offensive coach and can’t call plays.

It would be hard to justify firing Nick after all of his success, especially if he’s willing to hire a coordinator outside the building. We know he will though.

Good organisations make tough decisions at the right time. I think we are a good and well run organisation and so I hope Lurie and Howie recognise that the time is right to move on from Sirianni. But I also agree I think he’ll be forced to hire an OC from outside and the cycle will start again.

I thought they made a mistake firing DP, but it turns out they were right. I’m not too worried about them knowing when to get rid of a head coach. Right now emotions are high and everyone is upset. Once people calm down and have clearer minds they can get a better perspective.

Three end of season issues in a row now with AJ. For all the talking and complaining he did this season only for him to come up that small is frustrating. I get why his coach snapped on him, but a few years ago he went off on Jalen like that too. The biggest concern I have right now in regards to Sirianni is that a lot of times these motivation type coaches can run their course and eventually the team stops listening. If he loses the team it’s over.

This offense is based off of not turning the ball over and winning individual 1 on 1 battles. And whilst it was better last year that was still the overriding factor last year too. The difference was the run game last year.

You claimed several times this season that the Eagles would only win 6 games. Wrong every time.I'm just going to quote brkmsn's post from another thread that made @RainWave23 bail from that one. I'm like 99% sure he's either a Cowboys fan at this point. The only other option is he's a 15 year old chick.

That Nick was the HC for two Super Bowls and one win (should have been two if not for the field) is now past history. I have no problem with Nick being canned if the organization feels he can't move the team forward. It's a big mistake if they keep him for no other reason than the past. If they honestly feel he can move the team forward then you keep him.

This was not a SB team, very clearly. They were there all season long and no one did anything to address them. This was a SB caliber roster but the coaching made it far less than that.
January 12Jan 12 KP will not stay for sure. Lurie invested a lot in the offense and it is not to see it play like crap. Brian Johnson was fired 2 years ago and this 2023 offense was not as bad. That said i would not necessary surprise if the Eagles have a little regression for 2 or 3 years. The NFC east should improve a lot.

And so they say let’s bring in an OC like a Fangio on defense. Someone who doesn’t want to be a HC at this point in their career. That will come in and be here for a few years and give us that consistency. Well if that’s what we want then it’s time to change the HC.

There will be roster changes as usual but the window remains open.
January 13Jan 13 If you want proof of how much impact coaching has, just look at the Lions this year vs last year.
