Are you talking about Freeland or McAdoo? Or Treskow? Or Pardeesville? or Beaver Meadows? Or Tomhicken?

I cant tell because they all sit right outside of hazleton and match the description.

I used to audit Borough of Lansford.  I figure everywhere in that general area is like that except Jim Thorpe.  Beautiful area but my God there is no quality of life.  People used to come to the borough meetings for the fights that would breakout.   Good crap.  My brother lived in Effort for a while back in the day.  That wasn't so bad.  Close to fishing, hunting, etc...and it was a nice wooded neighborhood which is common around the Poconos.  Lansford has forever stained my opinion on NEPA.

Just got back from my mother's oncologist. They're really happy with the results of her latest CT Scan. All of the cancer has reduced a little. So a really good report.

Also went to strip club in white haven once while camping with some college buddies.  Interesting to say the least.

Lansford is too far south to be considered NEPA.

Texas Roadhouse is a small step up from  Western Sizzlin. It’ll do in a pinch, but the meat is usually dry with muscles and tendons running through it. The ribs are pretty good though.

We used to have a hunting cabin outside of Dushore.  I've seen things man.  I even used to camp at Almost Heaven in Forksville.  Once went to a redneck bar one night that wasn't the Forksville Inn.  There was a couple hammered 19 year old girls with some older dude we called tweak because he broke a pool stick when he missed a shot.  It was an interesting experience.

So good.  Portobello mushroom chicken at Texas Roadhouse.  There nothing in any restaurant that beats it.

Porterhouse for me.

You're doing it wrong. Oh and meat is muscle.

What do you think meat is, if not muscles?

We used to have a hunting cabin in Bradford county, just outside of Canton. Went to a bar one night and this dude gets up and walks into the bathroom and starts screaming at the top of his lungs for like 2 whole minutes. Bartender looks at me and my brother and goes "that's just Dale."

We had a house and property in Bradford too when I was a kid.  Never got to see the bar scene.  Not even sure if there was one near by.

The closest beer distributor to the campground we stayed at in Forksville was in Hillsgrove.  You had to step over the guys dog to get in and the dude who owned the place had a hook for a hand.  He was known as hookman around the area. NEPA awesomeness.

Hazleton is a lot more civilized than these other NEPA places you guys are talking about.

It's going downhill.  But it's not one of those little coal/meth towns.

It's actually a city,  and more a heroin/fentanyl type of place.

I was in Sullivan county last weekend - Laporte - is that NEPA?

Yo, my family loves this joint and I’ve gone to it on my own plenty of times. Back in early covid they started doing take out family meals. The ribeye dinner is like $18 or something. The family ribeye dinner came with 3 of those steaks, two huge things of your sides, a large thing of salad, and 8 dinner rolls. All for like $42... basically the price of 2 regular ribeye meals but easily 3.5x the amount of total food you would get. Ate steak and potatoes and veggies and salad and roll for like 4-5 days

Oh nice, did you microwave the steaks two days later?

Yes.  I've been there.  There was restaurant there that served giant perogies way back in the day.

We ate at a dive called the Barn - actually in Eagles Mere - the people were super nice and the food was excellent

Eagles Mere is actually nice.

I had them cooked on the rarer side so that I could toss them onto the grill for a couple mins per side on my leftover days!

If you're already firing up the grill, why not just buy 3 ribeyes for like 25 bucks and cook them?

Yeah, I’m claiming lingering effects from my trail fail on this one.  I stand by my broader point about the slightly better than mediocre steaks at Texas Roadhouse, but not the slightly concussed way in which I made it.
