Historically, this period is associated with forbidden activities and spiritual vulnerability, though it is also used in modern contexts to describe intense evening fussiness in babies or volatile stock market trends.Medium +7Historical & Folklore ContextThe 3 AM Significance: The hour between 3 AM and 4 AM is considered the peak of the witching hour, viewed as a mockery of the Holy Trinity and the inverse of the hour of Christ's death (3 PM).Origins:While often cited as midnight, historical beliefs suggest it is the time when the barrier between the living and the dead is thinnest. Shakespeare referenced it in Hamlet as a time when "hell itself breathes out".

March 30Mar 30 Had to deposit a check in the ATM this afternoon. Waited for a minute while the guy in the Tesla in front of me finished up and pulled away, pulled up to the machine and it was hung up on a screen that said "Please take your receipt". I gave it a minute to clear then, when it didn't, I pressed cancel. Heard the machine doing some stuff then all of a sudden it spits out a $50 bill. Realizing it belonged to the guy before me I looked to see if he was still around and he was pulling into the AAA store next door so I was going to take care of my transaction then go give him his cash. When I turned back the screen was asking me if I wanted to print a receipt or return card (his card was still in the machine) so I hit return card, deposited my check, then quickly drove to the AAA store to give him his card and cash. He was inside on his cell phone and it took him a minute to realize that the card and cash that I was holding up in his face were his. After realizing what happened he was extremely grateful. I got to thinking about if afterwards and wondered if I'd handled it the right way. Should I have just taken everything into the bank and gave it to them or was I right to go find the guy at his next stop and give it to him there? I'm sure it was less hassle for him that he didn't have to go back to the bank but he'd obviously screwed up his transaction and I don't need to be blamed for any shenanigans with his account when all I did was take the cash and card and give it back to him. Times yours.
