the wife got me a set of pickleball racquets for my bday.  well, some other stuff too...but yeah, pickleball.

we happened to drive by some pickleball courts a while back so i explained to her what it was...and i guess she took that as me being interested in it...so now i'll have to pretend i am & go play a couple times. i mean...i enjoy saying the word pickleball...but i'd much rather sit my arse on the couch.

anyway...anybody want to meet up for some pickleball?  :excited:

Just got back from my mother's oncologist. They're really happy with the results of her latest CT Scan. All of the cancer has reduced a little. So a really good report.

  • I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer in November. They removed my thyroid gland right before Thanksgiving. Post surgical blood test showed a thyroid globulin number of a 6, which is above the threshold

Welp... the Air Force base I work on just changed the way they forward web traffic and all of a sudden the EMB is blocked and labeled as "games". So I guess I'll just have to bring in my laptop to work to kill time and show them what games really are.

I'm convinced McDonalds is still using block cheese from the Reagan days.

Let's face it, Wawa is what it is.  A place to get a hoagie when you're half hammered at 2 in the morning.  But I tried their egg rolls today, that's right, egg rolls, and they were good.  No grease because they are air fried.  I recommend.

So you’re saying it might not be organic?

Nothing at Wawa is organic.

I think the mold is.

When we were in Florida for 3 weeks with Ellie in the NICU, we were SO grateful they had Wawas - we were splitting shifts so one of us would always be there with her 24/7 and wawa came in handy for quick meals and the ready made dinners you just pop in the microwave. The cashier says to me one day about my purchases "oh great choices - we also have a really good Mac n cheese” - I said honey you don’t need to educate me - I come from the land of Wawa. My mom sent a Philly catering package from wawa to the NICU staff and they really liked that. Soft pretzels, tasty cakes, hoagies etc.

So my daughter comes home from school yesterday and says she's going to be vegetarian just for the day since a girl in her class is (5th grade).  Then she said tomorrow she's going to try and be vegan for the day.  So I drop her at gymnastics practice contemplating my parenting abilities.  Get home and am discussing it with the wife casually and my boy (3rd grade) chimes in..."We should get filet for dinner tomorrow!"  Now my daughter's absolute favorite food is filet so for us to eat that when she's chewing on sticks or whatever vegans eat would be torture.  While I may have failed my daughter, the boy is really turning into an excellent troll.

Wanna send me a Wawa care package?

Today I waved a sad goodbye to my X3 M40i that I spent the past 16 months with. In a (slight) attempt at practicality, I switched to a 530e and will gladly use all the free charging available from my employer 4-5 days a week that I’m going into the office.

While both vehicles are the same age and have near-identical original MSRPs, I got this one for $8,000 less than what I originally paid for the X3, I got $1,500 less for trade-in that I bought the X3 for July of last year (win ), and my payment is dropping $5/mo, with a target end date that is 8 months earlier than the target end date my previous vehicle had. And I’m getting $18,300 back as the trade allowance I didn’t put towards the other vehicle, so I will have solid capital on hand when I close on my townhouse next month and need to start spending money on modifications, furniture, etc.

I hear mortgage brokers love it when you buy a new car before you close on your house....
