tbf that was the reasoning. She was planning on coming over later at night (I had a family dinner until 830ish) and just mentioned that she wasn't feeling 100% so would likely just be cuddles (we'd been together the past couple of weekends, so I already knew that either this or a surprise child would be the only possible outcomes, so it did not phase me).
