Grab my spray with handy red tube applicator and jam it up the hole like probably and your mom on a Saturday night. Buzzing from the hive begins. I give it a quick shot of spray. The buzzing intensifies. I adjust quickly and grab my trusty tennis racket and wait. Buzzing but no emergence. So I shove the tube up and try to adjudicate the intruder. The buzzing grows louder. Suddenly, the mother emerges from the hole. I have no room to swing. I improvise quickly and trust my racket in a quick, stabbing motion. Success! The head of the bee is crushed and its body rolls off the deck and to its doom! The patio below is littered with corpses not unlike the aftermath of the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan. But with bees. Two doors down my neighbors watch in delight imagining how much their property value must be rising by having a neighbor in a bathrobe swinging a tennis racket on his deck shortly after noon. I believe you've been in quarantine too long or you have a decent shot as a successful horror film writer, one or the other

May 28, 20205 yr Quote The buzz on buzz pollination Carpenter Bee, Native Bees of North America Carpenter bees have the ability to vibrate their flight muscles at specific frequencies while visiting flowers. Known as buzz pollination, this vibrates the flower and dislodges pollen. Tomatoes, blueberries, eggplants, and cranberries all benefit greatly from this type of pollination and produce larger fruit in greater quantities when buzz pollinated. Honey bees do not possess this ability. Carpenter bees are able to recognize one another and have been found to be able to make it back home after being moved up to 7 miles away. They generally live in semi-social settings involving varying degrees of cooperation between each other. Rest in peace non stinging pollinators.

So when they see their friends in a trap and the corpses on my patio they stay the f away from my deck. "Oh s***, did you see what happened to Jim? His head was cut clean off!!! And they trapped the entire Miller family in a prison!"
May 28, 20205 yr I had my first wasp (or whatever they are) inside yesterday. My cat was quite curious with it, until I enacted flawless victory fatality.

May 29, 20205 yr This week I went through a physical for the adoption process. I had to go back this morning for them to get the results of my TB test. While sitting in the waiting room I over hear an older gentleman tell the woman at the front desk "Yeah, I have mushrooms growing in my chest. Been that way for decades. Nothing you can do".

Kinda messed up that you're vetted for physical fitness to adopt when you see some of the pigs walking around with half a dozen kids

After many years and well into the six figures spent trying to grow our family and now the hoops we have to jump through to adopt, "this s*** isn't fair" has crossed our a minds a few times, to say the least. Basically they want to make sure I'm not going to drop dead in the next 10 years.
