Just got back from my mother's oncologist. They're really happy with the results of her latest CT Scan. All of the cancer has reduced a little. So a really good report.

Wounds are still fresh.  Give it time.  I spent a good portion of my teenage years in hospitals visiting my mom after she had a brain aneurysm rupture while it was being operated on.  Then she had subsequent strokes while in the ICU recovery.  She was basically vegetable until she passed a month before my wedding.  I luckily had been preparing for that for years but it was still hard to let go.  Remember all the good times and don't be afraid to cry and share those times with your family and friends.  Time will heal the wounds.  Keep your head up.

Thanks guys.  I have a ton of support.  Mr. Di was such a character, had a good heart, and everyone loved him.  I had 7 months of SOBER, although he was sick, it was him and not the alcohol talking to me.  It is still fresh as I think about him, I also still see him dying.  Over and over. Try crying and blowing you nose and carrying on with a mask on!  Good times, for sure!

I am trying to take baby steps with doing stuff.  The beach is a huge project still and I know it will take time and I won't be in it this season, but maybe.  Keeping expectations low.  He paid for a storage bin that has his step Dads and Mom's stuff in it.  I paid the bill for this month but that's it.  There's maybe 3 things I want out of there and this is another project high on the list.  And the tax returns are not done yet.  I can't think beyond that. I my have to take a day off next week to complete that.  Keeping busy is helping pass thru this time.

His sister was in the garden this morning.  She sent me this.  His siblings lost their brother and mother in 3 weeks time.  It's been rough on them too.

Shoofly pie.  AP Cake is also a highly underappreciated breakfast cake as well.

^ SEE that  Rambo; he followed the rules and THEN added his opinion.

btw, imp, how's your dad?

He's not doing so great.  Currently in the hospital with what they believe is a blockage in his liver which caused his blood levels to spike astronomically high.  He's scheduled to have a procedure done this afternoon to confirm, locate, and clear the blockage(s) so we're hoping for the best there.  Other than that, he's been really tired lately and I'm not sure if that is a potential result of the blockage or progression of his organ shut down process.  Doctors have said that his liver is shutting down and their plan was to do weekly blood work to gauge how quickly that was happening until his levels sky rocketed.  Kidney doctor has also seen him in the hospital and it sounds like the reduced functionality of his liver is taking its toll on his kidneys as well.

Going on 20 months into this journey and there has not been a day that we've felt like we really had a handle on where things stand or what the next steps were going to be or 'long-term' outlook/prognosis.

Thanks, .melvin

for the philly folks....what kind of an area is manayunk?  the daughter & her fiance are house hunting and seem to be focused on that area right now.  they're also going to look at other areas, including center city...but manayunk seems to be equidistant from their jobs.

it's follow up time!  :excited:

the eventually found a house they liked in manayunk...offer was accepted...and they closed on it yesterday.  that's the good news.

the bad news is....i get to spend my day off tomorrow helping them move.  <_<

i took a detour through manayunk to pick up wings on my way home from the shore last week and drove through a super cereal BLM protest. it was 6 pink haired chicks and one dude in a tie dye shirt. they had 3 total signs and were just chilling at the intersection. i dont know why but i got a good chuckle out of it

maybe they can help with the move?

I’ve had 2 cancelled weddings this summer. First was supposed to be 2 weekends ago. Second was supposed to be next weekend.
