September 23, 20205 yr Just noticed that the paint on the roof of my vehicle is peeling... badly. Apparently there was a recall on that very thing... but that expired in March... I hate 2020.
September 23, 20205 yr I went with a Sony $300 from Walmart. It's on a delay, not ready for pick up 'til Oct-1. It was on the top list of some techno biz site, most all reviews were good, and most importantly, it has a center base so I will not have any issue of it fitting on my little bench.

September 23, 20205 yr Hey, Di, you're a step ahead of my wife. She bought a new TV for our family room and didn't bother to check to see if it would fit on our stand, which of course it didn't. So then I had to buy and install a wall mount for it, which was a pain to find one that fit to hold it at the right angle in the corner where we have it.

How much did that wall mount cost?

I know that at the time (when Covid first hit) it was really hard to find anyone that had them in stock so we were limited in what we could buy.
September 24, 20205 yr I've gotten wall mounts off Amazon. Tilt, telescope, and swivel. 35-45 bucks. Very sturdy metal. Holding a 65" TV for years. One is holding an older heavier 42" for years. There's no reason to pay more for a mount. There's tons of choices on amazon.

The reason I asked is because someone I know was selling a house and they took the wall mounts (2) off the wall and with them. The buyers were pissed (it was apparently in the contract), and demanded that they either return the wall mounts or that the seller's pay them $200 per bracket.
September 24, 20205 yr the Hangman wall mounts at walmart....$19.99. fits up to 55"* TV, no screws in wall. uses simple physics, a jillion brad nails and the main bracket is made up of a french cleat. genius.

Yes, but like I said this was at the height of COVID and nobody had anything in stock. Ordering anything reasonable from Amazon or Walmart or the like wouldn't arrive for weeks if you could order at all. So I had to go to a local mom and pop store and get what they had in stock, which was a heavier duty model than I needed, but it beat not being able to watch TV for a few weeks. And it might've been closer to $50 or $60, I don't remember but I know it was significantly more than it should've been.
September 24, 20205 yr If you're just buying one that sits on the wall, the cheap ones are just fine. I've got a 13 dollar one hanging my 50" plasma in my bed room. However if you want one with a full articulating arm, you're gunna spend over 100 easily. Especially if it's for a large tv

But I'm not sure why anyone would buy one like that. That's a big request.

September 24, 20205 yr Police seize 345,000 used condoms that were cleaned and sold as new Police in Vietnam have confiscated an estimated 345,000 used condoms which had been cleaned and resold as new, state media reported. Footage broadcast by state-owned Vietnam Television (VTV) this week showed dozens of large bags containing the used contraceptives scattered across the floor of a warehouse in the southern province of Binh Duong. Police said the bags weighed more than 360 kilograms (794 lbs), equivalent to 345,000 condoms, according to VTV. The owner of the warehouse said they had received a "monthly input of used condoms from an unknown person," state newspaper Tuoi Tre reported. A woman detained during the bust told police that the used prophylactics were first boiled in water then dried and reshaped on a wooden phallus before being repackaged and resold. VTV said it was not clear how many of the recycled condoms had already been sold. The detained woman said she had received $0.17 for every kilogramme of recycled condoms she produced. Neither she nor the owner of the warehouse were available for comment.

Creative idea for the business owner though. If it worked for lostgolfballs.com, why couldn't it work for her?
