March 11Mar 11 I think the Woolen signing is decent...but it's definitely a "cautious optimism" about it. He had a great rookie year but progressed himself into being benched in favor of Josh Jobe? Hopefully he'll perform better in our scheme.

Hopefully he'll perform better in our scheme. My hope is he is at least decent enough to hold down CB2 spot for 2026 and offer overall better play than Jackson (who really struggled initially but really wasn't as bad as many seem to think) and we draft a CB that can use the upcoming year to get up to speed and be inserted into the starting lineup in 2027. Hopefully Woolen plays well enough to get signed to a decent deal next year setting us up for a comp pick in 2028 (I highly doubt we'd sign him to an extension considering the need to sign both Mitchell and DeJean).
March 11Mar 11 Key 2025-2026 Season Performance MetricsPro Football Focus (PFF): After a challenging 2024 season, Woolen showed a "resurgence" in late 2025, with his coverage grade climbing to 75.0 (ranked 27th) in certain 2023-2024 analysis, but more recent 2025 data shows a dip to around 67.1-67.9, with some reports noting inconsistency in 2025.Performance: He is recognized for his elite athleticism and ability to force turnovers, with 12 career interceptions and over 20 pass breakups in his first few seasons.2025 Stats: He recorded 41 combined tackles, one interception, and 12 pass breakups in 16 games.Woolen is a 6'4", 210 lbs cornerback known for his length and speed, often described as a "raw" talent with high upside.

March 11Mar 11 I don't know how accurate this guy is, but he says he's studied Woolen extensively. The first 2 things and his penchant for penalties are what concern me about him. That said, I imagine we will be getting a fully motivated version of Woolen this year.
March 11Mar 11 At WORST, we don't have to reach and draft for need at CB with Woolen. Same with the two TE signings. If the value is correct at the right round, we can address CB and TE if it comes to us. At best, Woolen does have a "prove it" year.

Toth filled in well for Jurgens when he was down.

Philips was never coming back. Reed was getting exposed last year due to being slow. He’s a great always around the ball tackler but he’s not irreplaceable. Would have liked him back the most though.
