I’d feel much better about this trade if it was just pick 98. The 2027 3rd is a little much. Greenard will be 29 in a week or 2. He’s two years removed from worthy production. What’s he got left to warrant this investment? I guess if he plays well this year and the team does well, the price will be forgotten.

1 year removed

This year has not happened yet and last year he was hurt. The year before he was great.

The year before that he was great.

We are not 2 years removed from winning the SB. Its 1 year removed. He was great the year we won the Super Bowl.

$100 million for him.

A lot of money to Davis.

Is JC getting traded?

lolbetter Fing not be

With our pick #98 we traded for Greenard, the Vikings take: Jakobe Thomas, S

I was afraid they were going to give up 54 or 68 and give him 30 million a year. 98, a third next year which will be late, and 25 million is all perfectly fair and I really like the player. They now have a four man rotation at edge rusher of Greenard, Hunt, Smith, Ebiketie, and Carter, Davis, and Ojomo at DT. That is FN sick.

He is who they should have signed in the first place

Like with every player we draft, we just have to wait and see how they work out here. It is so hard to project how well they will fit and how productive they will be. I try to remain cautiously optimistic ... that can be tested at times ... this year seems to be one of them, but I do look forward to watching them all and hope for the best.

Agreed. It appears that especially with this crop of prospects, the youngsters need time to grow and develop as players and men. I know I get impatient from time to time, but having the patience to allow that process to happen will be for the best. Time will tell with this group. Just have to give them that time.

My biggest concern has been and still is, the offensive line. If Jurgens and Dickerson still struggle with nagging injuries, and Johnson starts to really slow down, they're going to be in trouble this year. Unless Howie can sign some veteran guys who are released for salary reasons or in cutdowns, they need some more depth on o-line.

This news was accidentally leaked about 5 days ago, and I am glad it's real.

You couldn't have a dumber take on this if you tried. Congrats.

Ewwwwww.

Gross.

Just kidding. I like the player. A bit old and expensive, so let's hope we can get at least 2 to 3 seasons of production from him. 🦅🏈

Oh come on. it would only take a little effort to make a Jon Harris comparison. You severely under estimate some peoples ability to be dumb.

Good move. Good Fit.

This guy has had back to back 12 sack years. That's more than Phillips. If he's healthy he can do it again.

Instead of one good year he has 2. And the rest look exactly like Huff.

If he's healthy he can do it again.

They didn't give him an "If" type of contract. They gave him a "Do", contract.

There is no if to him being healthy. It was routine shoulder surgery.

He tried playing through it last year and could not for more than a few extra games.

Saquon was and is like 10x the injury risk that Greenard is. (for one example)

This is a top 20 Edge player.

He is great against the run and he is great at pressure.

Even in a low sack number year he still got lots of pressure.

He is clearly a better player than Jaelen Phillips.

Minnesota is bummed that they lost him but it was a cap crunch problem for them.

It would be weird to cry and gnash teeth about losing pressure guy Milton Williams and then complain that Greenard did not finish enough last year.

Let me get that.

One thing this guy will do is maybe relieve some pressure on Jalen Carter with double teams. They can't double everyone. I believe our pass rush is going to be a top 5 defense and this guy will be a big part of it.

He's probably a Practice Squad player.
