I would've felt better about this pick if Stoutland was still here....

Isn't he "still around" in some capacity? Make him the private tutor for this kid

I don't see him as a Lane replacement, but a project to see if he can develop into the Fred Johnson role and be a backup. Could also potentially replace Mailata in a couple years depending on how many more years he has. I think he'll be depth and they'll draft Lane's replacement next year. Youth movement on the O line.

They've hit on so many picks over the years, I don't question them any longer. I thought Jalyx Hunt was a reach and he's great. Hope Bell turns into a player for us.

I don't watch college football so most of these guys are just names on paper for me until they make the league. I remember seeing a lot of the same commentary around Hunt that he would bust and be poor pick in the 3rd. He has proved a lot of people wrong and is contributing. I'll give the scouting department enough credit here that they think Bell could turn out to be a pretty good player. I am sure Stout was involved in the scouting process, and while he may not be in his old role, he may still work with him. He is an absolute monster and with the picks they were moving in trades he may have been the best o-linemen left on their board.

Hate the pick. Big, slow and not athletic. Might have Jordan Mailata’s size but not an ounce of his athletic ability.

You stand corrected- he is quick on his feet.

He doesn’t look smooth, more lumbering.

This would have been a good project pick for Stout even though it's a high pick

This pick is a prime example of just how weak this draft is. Most years he is a 5th round pick and you are happy if he becomes a good backup swing tackle, but he also some special traits that give him a path way to possibly becoming a starter. In this draft he is an early 3rd round pick and that is perfectly fine since he was supposed to go in the 3rd/4th round range. Most years you are getting a guy with a higher pathway to becoming a starter in early round 3.

I would’ve drafted McCoy, who would be a potential starter at CB next year if Woolen leaves. This year would be redshirt/learning year for him. He’s a 1st rounder if not for the knee injury. Still ran a 4.37 40 at his pro day.

I just don’t see Bell being Lane’s replacement next year.

Ewwwwww.

Gross.

I'll give him a chance. You gotta be pretty decent to play at U of Miami, IMO.

Hopefully he'll develop like our current LT.

Yeah, I'm no draft expert but this did feel like a day 3 type prospect. But he was in for a top 30 visit and they must really like him. I worry they missed out on some other guys a lot of us really liked. But they also added Greenard and added weapons for the offense so we'll see.

I've seen "reports" that Stout is still around the Team, in a minor role. But, I've also seen reports that he is no where near the Team. So who really knows. 🤔

Do some research before posting. Just a suggestion. Here is what the scouts are saying:
"A massive 6-foot-9, 346-pound offensive tackle from Miami, with the 68th overall pick in the third round
of the 2026 NFL Draft. Despite his immense size, scouts and reports highlight that Bell has surprisingly light feet
and good movement skills for his size, which he uses to engulf defenders.

I’ve seen him play numerous times. He’s not a smooth runner or athlete, nothing like a Jordan Mailata.

Here’s your boy getting demolished at the Senior Bowl practice.

Is this guy in shape to play a full game? He is huge. Will he need to lose 20 pounds? Curious choice.

Ok, so you are right and the the professional scouts and evaluators are wrong. Got it.👍

He’s certainly not fast. He was the slowest tackle in the 40 at the combine.

I hope I’m wrong and he develops but this was a huge reach in the 3rd.

What is his quickness and lateral and bend like? As a 3rd rder, he will be expected to compete for a starting position and contribute.

Fangio gave his blessing on Hunt so I felt good about that one.

If we still had Stout and he gave his blessing on Bell I would feel great about it. Hell, even if we had Stout on the staff, I’d feel a million times better about his potential development.

It isn't like there was an abundance of 1st or 2nd round caliber tackles in this draft. Time will tell.

Gotta agree with the reach posters - he’s no early vintage Mailata and would normally be a Day 3 project with less upside than Mailata had. The one positive is the lack of sacks and hurries so he could be a Fred Johnson type back-up who can fill in and avoid disaster He’s just unlikely to be strong and fast enough to be a future elite starter against both the pass and the run.

Look, we probably got unlucky when we moved up to 20 in the first this year and Carolina surprisingly took the closest OT to Lane Johnson in Freeland one pick before us. It seems like we were targeting Freeland when he fell. Once we moved up and Freeling was gone, the other tackles available may not have been seen as sufficient value to take at 20, so they took the value in Lemon - and it changed our whole draft plan.

If we get the extra 2027 first rounder for AJ, we can move up next year and get a stud tackle, but this year we’ll have to make due with Lane, Fred and maybe even see a little of Bell at some point.

The Eagles already knew Carolina took Freeland. The teams know 2-3 picks in advance who was taken that TV viewers don't know. It's not like the Eagles got snickered thinking Freeland was going to be available. If Carolina hadn't taken Freeland maybe the Eagles still move up and take him. That is something we will never know.

Well, the Steelers didn’t seem to know who we picked. I think the shortened time between picks and allowing time to execute the trade may have been a factor.

The Steelers rightly anticipated the Cowboys wouldn't take a WR and jumped the gun not realizing they could trade the pick. If they waited literally another 30 seconds they would have known the Eagles took Lemon. In the end it didn't matter just that the Steelers had some eggvon their face.
