The Steelers rightly anticipated the Cowboys wouldn't take a WR and jumped the gun not realizing they could trade the pick. If they waited literally another 30 seconds they would have known the Eagles took Lemon. In the end it didn't matter just that the Steelers had some eggvon their face.

They apparently didn’t know 2-3 picks in advance - did they?

This kid seems to be another absolute monster. If only we still had Stoutland to work with him and get him ready.

Separate question, can he play OG? Just thinking could he compete with Steen this year for the RG spot as that's a position that could do with some competition and a hopeful upgrade.

I'm trying to let the Bell pick grow on me but damn, I just can't get past the thought that they simply reached/forced this pick at 68. There were better OTs available at that spot, IMO. I would have rather had Austin Barber, Caleb Tiernan or even Gennings Dunker at that pick. They seemed to have been so enamored with him along with not having another pick until late round 5, they talked themselves into drafting him wayyyyy early. Was he really the best player on their board at this pick? If so, they best re-evaluate their scouting dept.

Obviously I'll hope for the best with him and that he pans out into some kind of contributor. But, I'm very lukewarm on that happening.

We went into the draft with OT/OL being the biggest need and left the draft still needing it.

Miami offensive tackle Markel Bell impressed at the 2026 NFL Combine, highlighting his massive 6'9", 346-pound frame with an 87 1/8-inch wingspan.
He was considered a "biggest riser" by ESPN after a strong showing, which included a 5.36-second 40-yard dash. His rare length (36 3/8-inch arms)
and athleticism for his size solidified him as a top prospect.

Key Combine & Draft Notes:

  • Physical Measurements: 6'9", 346 pounds, 87 1/8-inch wingspan, 36 3/8-inch arms.

  • Performance: Ran a 5.36-second 40-yard dash and was recognized for his "unusual size" and ability to control defenders.

  • Draft Stock: Following the combine, he was viewed as a rapidly rising talent, later selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round (No. 68 overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft.

  • Evaluation: Evaluators highlighted his impressive "unusual length" and effective pass-blocking skills.

  • Bell was noted for having the largest wingspan at the 2026 combine.

Cashius Howell lined up a lot against Bell in the CFP. Howell had 1 tackle, 1 assist, and zero sacks. That’s really good for a big guy playing against a speed rusher who can really get to the QB.
