Carson Wentz discussion: no new topics about Wentz.

If it's true that Wentz wants out despite Doug being gone, that he just wants away from Howie and the whole organization...hopefully his agent is advising him well.  It would help the situation for Wentz to be willing to renegotiate his contract with a new team.  He could even have say in which team he goes to.  Everyone get to the negotiation table and work out a win/win/win.

Carson still gets a good contract situation, the Eagles take less of a cap hit and the new team takes on a bit less of the guaranteed money (or however it would work out).  Move money to a signing bonus or whatever tricks they do to get around the cap.

Wentz is in the driver’s seat.  He has all the leverage.

There are several things at play here, but they seem glaringly obvious to me. First, he's clearly been coddled by the organization. He's been anointed the starter from day one, and despite Foles' s

Not really. If they can’t get a deal done they just keep him. He can sit out if he chooses, and not get paid. Or he can suck it up, compete, and either win or lose the starting job.

Eagles take a big cap hit whether he stays or goes. So no really doesn’t have leverage at all.

I highly doubt this is true. But if the Bears are dumb enough to do that trade then Howie needs to close the deal before they come to their senses.

Yeah cause that would be a great look for the Eagles with players in the future. You draft a franchise quarterback, fail to build around him properly, bring in bad coaching, trade him for a huge dead cap hit and then he goes on and has success elsewhere. That’ll have all kinds of players wanting to come to Philly.

Players go where they can a) get paid, and b) win.  No one except deluded Washers like you gives a damn how the Eagles treat a failed former prospect like the diva.

So if/when Howie trades Wentz he’ll officially have zero Pro-Bowlers on the team that he drafted.

Great job Howie! Even a monkey could throw darts at a draft board and do better than that.

His contract becomes fully guaranteed on the third day of the league year, if he sits out he still gets paid, all they can do is fine him

The best part of this is maybe Jeff can finally start to see that Howie is a bigger part of the problem then he realizes.

After the 3rd day of the league year the dead cap hit would be 59 million

I wonder how much of a colossal f up Howie would manage with picks 6 and 20.

A DE & Oline. Hard to F those up 🤷‍♂️

That’s the fear I have. But the reality is, it doesn’t matter so long as he doesn’t even want to be here. From my perspective, if Carson wanted to remain in Philly there are no trade talks.

If he wants to leave, then don’t see what choice the team has.

Andy Reid is in his second SB since he left Philly. It doesn’t mean the Eagles were wrong for letting him go though.

This.  Would Reid be here without Mahomes?

Possibly. Don’t really know. Either way I’m not broken up he isn’t here anymore.

McDougal

The Eagles royally screwed this up. When Foles won the super bowl I wanted them to trade Wentz immediately, at that time Wentz value was so high, they could’ve gotten a first round pick for him, maybe even 2 with other picks as well. Wentz season that year was fools gold, they were so loaded that pretty much any competent qb was going to do well with that team, Foles proved that. Now it’s too late, even if they get a decent return for him that dead cap hit is gonna suck.
