Chicago has benched Trubisky in the past. They benched Foles, and they basically run the same offense Doug does. Can’t wait to see that all work. 😂

So did the fans.  That's why you have so many of them in hysterics about losing Carson Wentz.  They think he is an MVP-caliber franchise QB.

I dunno. Looking at chat alone here, it seems the ones wanting rid of Wentz are significantly more hysterical and persistent than those that are defending him.

🤨 Wonder if there is any other player that has been drafted, traded away, traded for, cut and signed as a free agent all by the same team!

Would he qualify as being cut? The only reason he left last time was due to him not agreeing to his extension.

Find one post that said that.

I mean all the defense of him ever has complained about one or all of the coaching, the line and the 'lack of weapons', it's pretty much all you could base a defense of him on.  Eazy is exaggerating the HOF to emphasise a point, but Wentz defense has always been he'd be better if he had this guy at receiver, or that scheme or that Tackle.

The starkest illustration that Wentz might be a mirage is Nelson Agholor, last 3 years in Philly all we heard is Carson needs a deep threat to take the top off defenses and let him use his arm, 1 year in Las Vegas and Agholor has a career year with just shy of 900yards and 8 TD's at almost 19 yards a catch.

If Howie can pull off two first rounders and Foles does that redeem Howie at all to anyone? I mean he still botched this whole dam thing.

No. Howie needs fired regardless.

Revisionist  history.  When Agholor and Wentz played well together the Eagles did go to a SB.  Agholor's last season with the Eagles he was terrible: dropping perfectly thrown balls that would have gone for TDs, poor tracking of deep balls.  Just a bad season for Agholor before he was cut.  And it wasn't the first and only season he played like that.

Did Agholor just have a career year with a deep threat yards per catch mark?  Yes,  Did the Eagles spend the last 3 years complaining that no receiver on the books was a deep threat? Also yes.

Weird just how many receivers struggle to track 'perfectly thrown balls' from Wentz huh?

All the rumors seem to Die the last day. I guess we're keeping him:-)

It doesn't redeem him but maybe it gives us something to look forward to until he Fs up those picks too.

The point is Agholor is inconsistent.

Agholor never played well for us whenever we needed him to be "the guy." I actually thought he would end up back with the Eagles for his 6th season heading into 2020. I had posted that despite his disappointing 2019 where his contract was way more than his play deserved, that his best option might have been to return for another season on a low, 1-year- prove-it deal. But merely suggesting that around here was not popular in any way and I didn't get one person to respond that keeping him for another season would be good for the Eagles.

That being said, I don't think 2020 was the problem of a "lack of weapons." It was more a product of circumstances. We all know injuries were a major theme all year. Personnel changed from week to week and there was little continuity. There were strange decisions all year about who played, who started, and where. Then Wentz clearly had his worst season and compounded the problems with his own performance. I think some of his problems are typical of QBs that are getting hit/sacked too much. He strangely tried to show courage through that, showing a willingness to stand and take the hits or extend plays. Unfortunately, that very thing was also a problem, with him holding the ball too long and hurting the offense with a bad mistake.

I feel there was a lesson to be learned. Any good, confident coaching staff should be able to get Wentz to grow from this.

And the point I’m making is one game isn’t the same as a season. It also is very relevant the Chiefs and Reid are dealing with real world issues. In the end one game is not the equivalent of a season worth of bad play.

The thing is Mahomes didn't play bad, his play was a reflection of missing his starting tackles.

Next year, he could drop everything thrown his way and no one here would even think a 2nd thing about it.  That's who he has been all along.

Imagine if he had to play a whole season with that one game issue AND had 12 different rotations to boot. Its a team game and a great example showed how 2 tackles derailed an offense last night.

Was Mahomes playing "hero ball?" Is it okay when he does it?

I can't help but think he has a physical issue related to either the knee or back injuries  that go back to college.  He just hasn't been the same guy.

someone wrote a good piece in the last 6 months or so about how he hasn't been the same since his early season back injury the year after the SB I think it was

I remember that article it was pretty in depth, but I just dont know about the whole back injury thing. I feel like that may explain regression for a short period of time, but not after this long. He is making mental mistakes, his mechanics are different every year, he is stubborn. None of those things have to do with a back injury.

and none of them have to do with Doug Pederson or Howie Roseman. Sorry, WPA.

How would I know if Wentz had a problem with drafting Hurts? He never stated that he did. His actions never displayed a "problem." Even after Wentz was replaced, he tried to help Hurts. So ... if I had to guess, I'd say those rumors are exactly that --- rumors ... with no iota of proof.

As for Wentz being shopped, that's not a rumor. The Eagles haven't come out with a statement stating that, but other teams have verified that the Eagles are listening to offers. The offer we hear with the Bears involving Cohen is a rumor, but only in that the original source disclosed an offensive player and Cohen was tabbed as that player based on "evidence" that has since been debunked.

Anyway, I think you missed my point. There are a lot of rumors about Wentz that have zero evidence that fans and media have been taking as gospel and running with. Most of them seem to contradict what his teammates have said about him. So ... yeah ... in rumors, Wentz is an evil, awful person. If you want to believe that, nothing I say will stop you.

Other teams verified that the Eagles are listening to offers? Did they have press conferences and officially announce this or is it being reported by those same reporters that have the Wentz Rumors?

my point is, I’m sure 100% of what is reported is not true but there has been so much reporting. Malcolm Jenkins has come out to talk about issues with Wentz and the Eagles relationship. You don’t find it weird that besides Cox and Kelce no one has really come out and backed Wentz against these rumors/stories?

Our guy was missing his starting tackles and he played bad. It was a combination of both here.

I wonder how he would perform with 12 different Oline configurations, less Kelce (and his backup) for a big chunk of the season, while missing several of his starting WRs for stretches (How about Greg Ward replacing Tyreek Hill?  LOL).   Given how it went down with just the tackles missing last night....not good!

I’m thinking the trade is announced Wednesday.  That’ll be after the bucs parade and Howie will be able to thrust himself back into the spotlight making blockbuster trades like the self proclaimed worlds greatest GM he is.  They strategically announce the coaching hires during the down week leading up to the bowl for that same reason, so they have to wait until the bucs turn off the confetti machines before they announce the trade.
