I say they contact Dana White to set up the octagon at the Linc and let Wentz and Howie fight it out, loser has to go.

That's a fair fight, right? 😂

So long as Carson (who let's be honest wouldn't need it anyway) can have brass knucks.

FWIW - I love how this whole Wentz/trade charade has shown the press to be exactly what it is - a bunch of lying, cheating nobodies who will say or make up anything to advance their own personal interests.

Howie and co. and played the news media like a fiddle, and it's a sight to behold.  Could not have happened to a more deserving crew.

Absolutely. To me they needed to strike fast and early.

I was thinking the same thing, once the media got involved with daily trade speculation reports all players in a possible trade are afraid of getting the short end of the stick thus making a trade harder than it needs to be.

If I were running the show I'd keep it simple, Wentz for a #1, done deal.

1.  Owner made it clear he views Wentz as fixable.

2.  Owner made it clear to coaching candidates that fixing Wentz is a priority.

3.  Hired a candidate that is closely tied to the one coach Wentz apparently respected.

4.  Howie won’t be forced to take any trade that doesn’t meet the asking price.
5.  Trading Wentz will create the largest dead cap figure in NFL history.  To quote Ricky Watters: "For who? For what”?

Howie isn’t the owner.  Lurie is the owner.  If there isn’t a blockbuster deal that wows Lurie, don’t bet on him accepting anything less since it’s the 34 million dollar egg on his face

I agree, we are going to have to eat 34 mill.

We were all fooled.......

Oh well, they're throwing Russel Wilson in the mix of available QBs, Wentz is going to be lucky to find someone who wants him.

Howie needs to unload the guy ASAP, if that means getting a 2nd or 3rd, take it and move on.

And now probably Dak...getting crowded in that room...

If we're going to believe every report that comes out, we may as well believe the one from yesterday how Carson is good with Lurie and Sirianni but will not answer calls from Howie. I'm just an ignorant fan but the solution seems fairly simple...fire Howie.

Why he is not being held accountable is a big as mystery as Ralph Kramden not answering the 55,000 question...

Why is he teflon?

I've sat here for a few minutes now trying to think of something insightful, smart or hell even funny...

And I've got nothing dude. We may find out if we're alone in the universe before finding out why Howie is immune to blame, or anything else, from Lurie.

And that's probably why Carson is being silent. If he says he hates Philly and doesn't get traded, that'd be kinda awkward, wouldn't it? If he says he loves Philly and does get traded, that'd be kinda awkward with the new team, wouldn't it? Yeah I think so.

Your previous post you said Bears made an offer now this post you're implying no one wants him? Which is it?

Take your time and think, you seem confused.

Hell, he contradicted himself in that post alone.

He's gone!

No one wants that baby!

Who is "they"?  Profootballtalk?

Do you believe every report you read?

But he must speak!  He needs to send a tweet!

Imagine people being professional and not going into the media or Twitter and Instagram to talk about dirty laundry for the sake of fans and click bait reporters.

You guys are completely missing the point when people are questioning him not speaking. Nobody expects him to come out and say he wants out. The point is if he DIDN’T want out, and he was an actual leader, he’d come out and put an end to the rumors. The fact that he is still not saying ANYTHING, is a pretty clear indication that he does in fact want to leave.  The only ones who can’t see it are the fanboys.

Further, you guys keep pointing out how there are so many conflicting reports so there’s no way to know which ones to believe. And that’s true. However, there are NO reports disputing that he wants out. Every report to come out says this.

It’s 100% clear to anyone who has an ounce of logical thinking ability, and doesn’t have their head up Carson’s ass.

I'm not a Wentz fanboy, I've criticized him especially this year and called for him to be benched.  I'm not disputing the trade rumors, there's a lot of trade talk out there.  You are lumping several type of arguments (and posters) together.

What I am arguing:

  1. I don't think Wentz has to make any statement in the media or on social media, he can keep discussions private with the team and his agent.
  2. Making any statement will bring criticism anyway, and hurt his reputation or potential negotiations.
  3. There are lots of different reports, some that conflict each other so people shouldn't get SO hyped up and worked up on every little rumor.

I've said this a dozen times.  Any scenario of Carson speaking has either a downside, or people won't believe him anyway and their minds won't be changed.

  • I want to be here, I'm looking forward to working to help this team win:  if he actually doesn't want to be here and then is traded, he gets called a liar.
  • I don't want to be here, I want to be traded:  criticism for being disgruntled; potential teams see a disgruntled player (see what people say about Watson)
  • PC statement that says nothing:  not satisfied, read into what he's not saying, he won't commit one way or another so that means (whatever it is you believe), this drama is going to keep dragging on
  • Congratulations Coach Sirianni welcome to the team:  why didn't he post anything about Doug?  He didn't say anything about him being the starter or wanting to be here or not, what does it mean?  More criticism and drama
  • I prefer not to address the current rumors and handle things privately, something about it's all in God's hands:  criticism, why won't he commit, this really means (whatever it is you believe).

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

The fans are media are frothing at the mouth like starving animals and want blood for some reason.  It's a f'ing football game, it's entertainment for us but for these people it is their profession, their reputation and future.  The fans are the ones acting whiny and entitled.  Criticizing his leadership qualities on a football team...because he doesn't tweet on social media.  That's ridiculous.  We used to say we wish players would cancel their social media and not say stupid things.  Now we're criticizing them for not posting a Tweet or Instagram post.

Professional people with high character who don't want to hurt trade negotiations or make themselves look bad keep that stuff private with their employer and agent.  Posting in social media serves no purpose and doesn't solve anything.  No matter what he says it will be dissected and criticized anyway.

Fans used to want players to shut up on social media, shut up and just play.  Now they want them to post on social media because...because...because he has to!

The fans are the whiny, petulant entitled ones crying for a celebrity athlete to post on Instagram so they can...I don't know, not be so angry for some reason.

I’m with Seth on this.

What is Pizza with the Pros?  A show on Comcast with the post game crew or some side thing that Seth is doing?

I’d love to get some pizza with Seth and pick his brain, but I’m talking about how this all could have been handled a long time ago with some words from the QB.
