Forget it! Add Zach Ertz if they are willing to give two 1st lol. Like two birds one stone. Worse case, they ball out in the AFC but the positive is Howie get fired (maybe).

Why Did Texans Contact Philly About QB Wentz?

The Texans have reportedly contacted the Philadelphia Eagles about quarterback Carson Wentz. However, don't expect Wentz to be suiting up in Houston any time soon.

Could you imagine...

Because they are trying to increase his trada value by adding multiple options...But if they really would  be interesta then great

I can't see it. I don't believe they are going to trade Watson but if they were would they really move on from Watson and bring in Wentz? I can't see it.

Apparently their owner and new FO shot-caller is very Christianity focus, and who is a more openly Christian QB than Wentz?

Remember when Timmy T said he was only going to play 5 years of football and then go off and do Christian volunteer missionary work and the media lapped it up and then he just decided to carry on trying to play professional sports and work as a TV analyst.

You guys are completely missing the point when people are questioning him not speaking. Nobody expects him to come out and say he wants out. The point is if he DIDN’T want out, and he was an actual leader, he’d come out and put an end to the rumors. The fact that he is still not saying ANYTHING, is a pretty clear indication that he does in fact want to leave.  The only ones who can’t see it are the fanboys.

Or those who can think. Or those who don't hate Carson Wentz (or gingers?) with a passion.

Honestly I’d do Wentz, Ertz and a third for the Colts 1st this year, 2nd next year, plus Burton. If they can’t trade Ertz they’re just going to end up cutting him anyway, so if you can throw him in to get more value then it’s a no brainer.

Edit: Actually isn’t Burton going to be a FA? Pretty sure he only signed a one year deal

Can you imagine working with some of these people?  They are that disgruntled turd who ****es about everything, but doesn't have the balls to stand up or quit.

I've worked with people like that. Preparation H didn't help.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe reports the Patriots are not a "serious suitor" for Carson Wentz.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has confirmed Wentz will be on the move soon, but we have not heard much in the way of possible destinations. The Patriots have plenty of cap space, have a need under, and feature that sort of experienced offensive coordinator who could turn Wentz around, but they understandably don't seem keen on taking on Wentz's toxic deal after his disastrous 2020. The Patriots will probably think smaller or younger as they take a second crack at replacing Tom Brady.

Didn't really think that NE were serious suitors at any point.  I have read that NE is interested in Mariota.

Where is that

I don’t think Carson should come out and say he wants to leave, if he wants to leave. But if he wants to stay, he should come out and say he wants to stay. It’s clear which option he wants. And given that, it does no good for him to come out and say anything right now.

If he said he wants to stay, then later after working with Sirianni and not liking what he sees, or if Hurts is named the starter and then he wants a trade...then people will call him a liar or say he was being fake by saying he wanted to be here.  So he's damned if he does, damned if he doesnt.

It would actually be kind of hilarious if he came out now saying he wants to be an Eagle while all these trade rumors are swirling.

yeah too much time has passed.  He hasn't said anything all this time, saying something now (regardless of what it is) be interpreted as a negotiation move.  It doesn't matter what he would say, people will criticize it or call it a tactic and still believe what they want anyway.

Wow. The lengths you will go to in order to defend the terrible way Wentz is handling this.

You think posting on twitter and airing drama and dirty laundry in public is the right way to handle this, vs being professional and keeping discussions between him, his agent and the team?

Try that with your employer.

I'm ready for that circus lol.

The three ring circus has long been part of the appeal of being a Philly sports fan, particularly the Eagles.  It's always something.

Honestly, adding Dillard or Mailata to a Colts trade would make some sense if it meant getting big time value. Can't justify re-signing Mailata in 2022 if Lane stays healthy and Dillard plays adequately at LT. Can't justify picking up Dillard's 5th year option if Mailata plays adequately at LT. Doesn't have Mailata's versatility. Anthony Costanzo just retired.

I'd be far more inclined to add Dillard than Mailata, by the way, provided Mailata's back is given a clean grade from the Eagles medical staff.

I'm not sure why it's so difficult for you to understand a simple concept. After everything that transpired in 2020 for him to come out and say he wants to be traded, it paints him in a bad light with the decision makers around the NFL. If he came out and said the rumors were and are BS then ends up being traded, this fanbase and his next question his word at best or outright call him a liar.

Now would I have liked him to take to Twitter, or an interview/press conference, and say he's dedicated to being an Eagle and will work his butt off to be better in 21? Absolutely. The people that want him gone...I don't know why you guys care so much. Rejoice that he hasn't said anything and is about to be traded. This is what y'all want, so have a beer to celebrate that the "bad guy" is being shipped out.
