I think the $$$ he's being paid actually buys him time.

At some point a simple risk vs. reward analysis will determine what happens.

I would think that  'Big $$'  tends to force a decision sooner rather than later.

The unknowns are: exactly  when  that happens and whom else, if anyone,  is involved.

I suppose there's always the possibility of a negotiated pay-cut, too. But that could be

embarrassing and uncomfortable as well as maddening for Wentz' agent.

When you're tied in with a QB on that big a deal you don't have much choice but to stick with him. Id suggest he gets at least this year and probably next. And in that time he'll have enough good moments and games for the organisation to give him even more time.

Maybe . . . maybe not.   I dunno for sure but if our board is any indicator of the avg. fanbase

and if Wentz' performance continues like this (or gets worse) there's gonna be an overwhelming

roar for something to change. I'd suggest that team mgmt. has foreseen this possibility and has

drafted Jalen Hurts for this potential purpose as well as an eye toward Wentz' injury history. I'm

fairly certain they didn't foresee this coming this quickly but circumstance is what it is. They

clearly don't think Sudfeld is the answer since Hurts is already playing here & there while Sudfeld

is 3rd on the QB depth chart and holding a clip-board. And it can't be good for team comradery &

confidence to know that your  WELL  PAID  QB is now in the bottom five of the league, numbers-wise.

Just sayin' . . .

I've been patient but he does need to improve.  Let's be honest, things haven't been that pretty since 2017 season.   Nick bailed us out 2 seasons in a row.  He's no longer here.  No more excuses because it's Year 5.   I know Carson is talented and can be a great QB but again he has to improve.

If Carson Wentz ends up a failure then there is no reason to keep Howie still employed. He’s literally Howie’s only bargaining piece. Nearly everyone else he’s drafted is either flawed or just bad.

I look at Wentz as an organizational decision. They all went up to ND to check him out. There’s certainly plenty more to kill Howie about since.

No issues with Wentz. I still have all the faith in him. However i think this coaching staff, play calling, scheme, game planning is an issue. Until Doug gives up being the OC, this team will be a avg to below avg team. You put Wentz on another team with a good coaching staff and game planner and he is a top 5 QB.

Im guessing your the type that likes it Long and Hard. :)

Sorry had to do it, was just too easy, lol.

I remember the NFL top 100 had Josh Allen, Kyler Murray and Ryan Tannehill ranked but not Wentz.  Cant believe the players had it right.

I still believe Carson will bounce back and play much better.  Question is how soon?

Tomorrow would be a good place to start. If you can’t be a winless bengals team at home with a rookie qb then who can you beat

Someone on Twitter said this was Carson’s mom. I don’t know for sure, but do we have a new Momma McNabb?

Still Howie made all the trade moves and manipulation to get to the pick to get Carson. Sure they all had a say, but that whole thing was spearheaded by the GM of course with the owner’s consent.

I’m more concerned with this defense trying to stop that rookie especially without Cox in the middle.

And wtf happened to cox

He has an oblique injury. I believe that it happened last game. Apparently he has a "ten percent chance to play” so he’s basically out.

Why is why I mentioned Lurie needs to step in and make him get an OC like Reich or fire Doug. This could be another post Super Bowl run like it was with Reid (Pederson) and Mcnabb (Wentz). Hopefully Lurie learned from those mistakes.

This is sort of where I fall.  I would like to see Wentz with a set up on the coaching staff like he had in 2017 before the Eagles give up on him. I don’t want to make a mistake like giving up a top 5 quarterback due to bad and stubborn coaching.

When Orlovsky is weighing in you know things are bad. He's a big Wentz guy.

In truth, I still think Howie did a very good job of working his way from 13 to 8 to 2 without crippling us, and dumping the Maxwell contract in the process. Aside from nailing every free agent pickup in 2017, aside from Warmack, it’s one of very few things he’s done well.

I've always been a huge Wentz fan. I'm still not done with him but my doubts are surfacing and I'm losing confidence in him. He just does so much dumb crap! I'm curious to see what Hurts could do.

That's where I'm at too. I still hope he's the man and he's shown in the past that he can be. But my faith is starting to fade a little.

Yep just caught a glance of that bs. I'm at a bar finding myself paying more attention to other games.
