October 12Oct 12 I think it’s pretty telling that after previous losses this season, nick was saying "we all had a hand in that.” But after this loss it finally was "that’s on me, I lost that game.” Nick chooses words purposefully as he knows how this city is, so to go from one side of the blame coin to the other so quickly tells me that he for sure knows he was on the hot seat from day 1 this season and he tried to spread blame to take heat off himself, but in this instance it was too blatantly obvious that there was no way to pull the "we’re in it together” card. And then when QB1 steps up after the game and says "I honor the calls” instead of "that’s on us as players to make sure we arent in that situation” well then that should tell you something. Nick has officially lost QB1 and when that happens he’s lost the team. Lane bailing was in part due to some of this I’m sure. The writing is on the wall and it’s not if, it’s when, Howie decides to pull the eject handle.

If the Eagles miss the playoffs this year, it would be Sirianni's first such season as Eagles HC.For reference, this ownership gave Ray Rhodes, Andy Reid and Chip Kelly two seasons of missing the playoffs before letting them go and Doug Pederson one season of missing the playoffs before letting him go.I agree with the sentiment of wanting an experienced OC and believe that Mannion was not the team's first choice for the job, but who they had to settle for once all the experienced candidates they wanted accepted other jobs. It's only going to get worse if we make a rash decision with Sirianni, so it's a tough decision for ownership to make.My guess is that Sirianni gets another year with an "experienced OC" and the front office moves Mannion to QB coach or lets him go altogether. No way Nick is here after this year barring a miracle. I would have fired him on the plane ride home. Make Clint Hurtt interim HC.
October 12Oct 12 I'm fine with firing Nick after the season. Mannion can barely handle his current responsibilities. And I have nothing to base this on, but I don't see Vic wanting the headache at his age.

Just to keep things fresh. We are failing as an organization at every level.Howie can't put an OLine together. Injuries are killing us, but the OLine we sent out there is a major failure.Sirianni proved he can't make game decisions and can't make halftime adjustments. Not sure what he contributes aside from cheerleading.Jalen Hurts continues to prove he is not a pocket passer. What brand new coach would want to coach him?
October 12Oct 12 How do you evaluate pocket passing ability in the absence of a pocket? I'm not saying Jalen is perfect. But the notion that he is head coach repellent is laughable.
October 12Oct 12 Why on earth would you promote a guy that hasn't even proven himself as an OC yet? I get being frustrated with Nick, but he has these moments each season where he just does really dumb things and it makes you question his competence. Had the plan worked, everyone would be talking about how it was a great call because it killed the clock and they didn't have enough time to get into fg range. I'm with everyone on kicking it out of the endzone, because they didn't have timeouts. But this is one of those moments where what looks like a sure thing just totally backfired.Anyway, onto the Panthers.
October 12Oct 12 Who here remembers the days when this was a fairly frequent post topic relating to various players like Vick and coaches like Chip? Maybe he needs to go see the Wizard and ask for a brain?
October 12Oct 12 About 12 more games for the Siri Era. I'm cool with what he's done for the Org, and I'm cool with him leaving at the end of the season.

History favors Nick being around for another season minimum, but as we have seen in the case of Doug Pederson, if Nick shows a certain level of resistance to Jeff/Howie with regards to personnel changes, he may be asked to walk at the end of this season. My guess is that Nick is fine with Sean Mannion being the fall guy for him just like Patullo and Brian Johnson.I like Clint Hurtt as a potential successor to Vic Fangio at DC whenever he chooses to retire (which could be as early as the end of this season). He makes sense as an in-house option.

If his message no longer holds any weight during practices, film and saturday team meetings, then it is just a matter of time. And yes, the players need to also be held accountable........but most of the blame is on coaching. The Hurts/Sirianni tension seems near boiling. That alone is going to trickle in the locker room and change attitudes, players will pick sides etc.......think about the mental hurdles this past week, one of the greatest Eagles retires and then another starter gets traded for what seems to be future team rebuilding capital. No one is blind enough to see this not ending well - it would take a miracle to turn things around.
October 12Oct 12 I would REALLY like to see Mannion as the interim coach and get to see his actual offense and figure out if he has the goods or not. Plus I can't take another second of that dope Sirianni on the side line coaching this team.
October 12Oct 12 Yep. This season is over. I know a lot of people don't want to admit that, but it is. People forget how close we were to losing to Washington and Tennessee with pretty much a fully healthy roster. This team is poorly coached, poorly constructed, has major injury problems, and is spiraling. Even if we manage to win what is probably the weakest division in the league with 8 or 9 wins we will get a prison beating in the first round of the playoffs and have a BS pick for what? I want to find out if Mannion has the goods and get to see him run his actual offense. Not the one where slowly but surely every game devolves into Hurts in shotgun for most of the second half, no motion, and a bunch of vertical routes. This is not Mannion's offense we are seeing which is obvious to anyone with half a brain.

Add to that the HC can’t give this team an edge, they are really poorly disciplined and prepared and they aren’t tough. It’s a recipe for what we are seeing. I don’t think we’ll beat a good Carolina team coming off a bye (and we have a long travel back to the US). Then we face a Cowboys team who I mean their defense is awful but let’s be honest I don’t think we believe this offense can put up big numbers on them?

For me thats the only value in firing Sirianni before end of season. Give Mannion the reigns and have him go all in to show that progression regardless of schedule. Maybe they can already answer this internally since they have alot more info than we do. I am just exhaused with the awful offensive product and the BS is it Sirianni or Hurts or Insert X OC hire etc etc.And Howie crap the bed on the offseason IMO. This wasn't a good one from him and he needs to learn:1. He knows Lane is almost out the door. He knows Jurgens and Dickerson went to Fing SA for stem cells. He saw how bad the Oline was last year. He invested a 3rd round in Bell.2. He knows a blocking TE is CORE to the offense he wants to run and he selects and absolute project TE that is the farthest you can find from it...in the 2nd round.I like Lemon. He blocks and runs good routes and is fearless. I can live with this but this was a BPA pick not what they needed. They have 4 guys who are worthy in this new offense but when all for are healthy really only two of them are getting the ball.Just so Fing tired of watching the offense. Its a terrible product.Edit: Also, the training camp. With all the offensive changes I think running such a soft camp was a mistake. Clearly the first team got NO WHERE near the reps needed to figure this crap out. Especially the run blocking. And don't talk to me about injuries. They went super soft in training camp and look where they are anyways. Injuries are just not that much in your control outside of mobility, conditioning and recovery. They practice scared.
October 12Oct 12 Seahawks 38 Eagles 0I knew foul mouth pervert Ray Bob was done.I probably had not been as happy about the team since that Detroit game.My number 1 goal this year is no more Sirianni. Winning in 2024 with him was overcoming the adversity of a bad HC with great coordinators.
October 13Oct 13 When Nick is fired, he needs to take Big Dom with him. I’m sick of seeing him on the sidelines. It looks like a clown show. Coaches like Parcells, Belicheck, Dungy, Tomlin would not allow it.

Unless things REALLY REALLY go off the rails. Then maybe make the DLine Coach the interim HC.This. I’m angry with Siri too, but he gets until the end of the season and unless there is a big turnaround goes then.Mannion has shown nothing to suggest he would be a good head coach. Clearly can’t adjust by our second half record.Likely new head coach gets to decide if he stays or goes.

I do wonder if Mannion's offense and Hurts are like topping a chocolate cupcake with saurkraut. Both are quite tasty individually but don't go together well at all.
October 13Oct 13 Maybe experienced OC's don't WANT to come to Philly, because word got out how Siri won't let them have full control and meddles way too f. c. k. i. n. much. That's why youneed an OFFENSIVE minded HC instead. Kill 2 problems with one stone.

Again, not saying that Hurts walks on water. But it would be hard to evaluate the play of any QB between the o-line and the installation of a new offensive system (being installed by an unproven coordinator).
