October 13Oct 13 I don’t think they’ll make any rash decision, but only because Sirianni and hurts have so much credit in the bank. Realistically the best we can hope for is moving on from Nick at the end of the season. But fangio will also go so it will be like starting from scratch again. Feels like there is a lot of change coming and hopefully it’s all for the better
October 13Oct 13 Sorry for the long post.Mannion should not be the interim HC. He's still cutting his teeth on being an OC. Vic would be the logical choice to finish out the year. I don't think it would matter much who the HC is the way this roster has turned out. This is a roster with a lot of holes and the fill-ins aren't good, and that's to be expected as well. The Eagles are in a down turn from a talent perspective at many positions. That's on Howie and he needs to have a few great drafts to rectify the situation. We'll see what happens there. As for Sirianni, well, everyone is talking about the final kick off and I don't understand why that's the biggest issue since Nick could have prevented the kick off all together and failed to do that.Sirianni has 1 primary job on game day and that is overall game management including when to go for it, when to call a timeout, etc. His decision making is forcing losses that should be wins.Look at the Eagles final possession. With little time left on 2nd down, both teams had 1 timeout and the Eagles were well within Jake's field goal range. If he runs the ball on 2nd down, the Jags have to stop the clock in the hopes of getting another possession. That leaves them no timeouts. If he runs the ball on 3rd down, the Jags can't stop the clock and the Eagles can run the clock down to 2 seconds and kick the field goal. That's Game Over, The Eagles Win, with 0 seconds left on the clock.THAT was the more egregious mistake. That was the blatant coaching malfeasance. There never should've been a kick off to the Jags at all, and a good HC would've ensured that outcome through basic game management strategy.Nick Sirianni couldn't do that simple math in his head in real time. It's his only job at that time in the game and he couldn't do it.Whether he called the pass play on 2nd down himself or failed to interrupt and overrule Mannion calling it and then going to a run play instead, his FAILURE there is EXTREME.If he does what he's supposed to be doing, the Eagles win despite everything else working against them that day.Not kicking it out of the endzone was just adding insult to injury but the injury was not running the ball on 2nd and 3rd downs so he could end the game with an Elliot kick.I'm sorry but he's been a CEO HC for a handful of years and he's still incapable of doing his primary job. The Eagles don't need another culture building cheerleader, they need a terrific HC.I hope they find one soon. One other thing. It is painfully clear that Sirianni was promoted to HC far too soon. He skipped the necessary step of being an OC for 5 years or so. That left him incapable of calling an Offense on his own AND incapable of helping a brand new 1st time OC who is struggling, because he has no experience to draw on with which to course correct when the offense goes flat. It is clear that when the roster isn't great and the OC isn't a good one, and able to cover up for his ineptitude, he has ZERO answers. He said so himself on more than one occasion in pressers. He's honest but still telling us he has no answers and he's the HC. Unacceptable that he's overmatched by problems that are solved by basic football strategy, and can't see what to do.Is he marginally likable despite his immature behavior? Yes. He's not an evil person. He's just a man who is incapable of doing many aspects of his job as HC at a satisfactory level. My take is: Time to go Nick. Thank you for what you were capable of doing. You helped win it all. I do wish him the best of luck. I hope Jeffrey and Howie find the upgrade they need at HC.If you didn't tl;dr this, I thank you for your time.GO EAGLES!!!
October 13Oct 13 Sirriani isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Howie and Jeffrie love their puppet coach. They've been emboldened after winning a super bowl with him. They probably think this is the their master blue print for winning because they're so smart they can run the team from upstairs. And now lil Julian is being groomed to take over with his expertise in analytics. This franchise is on it's way to it's next chapter. It's likely to be an ugly one. Everything always come full circle. Remember the good times.
October 13Oct 13 Siri IS going soon. Howie and Laurie can find a puppet HC pretty much anytime/anywhere they want. From what I’ve heard, the FO has been furiously pissed off at Siri’s in game "lack of management” skills. Once he loses the locker room with his pep talks, it’s all over. As it’s well know known he cannot prepare a team, he’s not smart, he’s not detail oriented, and he completely flakes with in-game decisions.

I’m angry with Siri too, but he gets until the end of the season and unless there is a big turnaround goes then.Mannion has shown nothing to suggest he would be a good head coach. Clearly can’t adjust by our second half record.Likely new head coach gets to decide if he stays or goes.If they’re going to go with a new HC, I’d prefer a new HC capable of calling the plays. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Jalen’s best season was with a coach in his second season. Funny this same new offense is killing Justin Herbert, but Jalen is the one getting killed for it. At least Herbert is working with a guy who actually called plays before. Anyway no team should need to deal with a new coach and play caller every year and expect stability. The Eagle need to turn the page from this set up.

He barely seems ready for the job he currently has.

Why should I fight with OC, or Head Coach... despite being convinced that the calls are stupid. ??? All I will do is at conference time...Say "Hmm ...That's not my call..." and execute what I am given. GM did not fix the offensive line, and so Hurts is forced to run for his life. I do not think that Hurts sees a lot of future in Philly. (Very Sad from my point)

But Mannion can onlycall 1/4 of a 1st half of a game- and then he is out of idea's. Look at the 2nd halfstats of Eagles games this year. No, you get rid of him, too. You hire an experiencedHC and OC. EXPERIENCED, not 1st timers. Clean house, start over.I agree, but if they’re going to clean house then they should wait until the end of the season to make those changes.
