btw, I like how Republicans try to attack Biden for giving Anita Hill a hard time during Thomas' hearing, but then argue that the Democrats ruined Kavanaugh's life.

Fine, but how does that make him any different than any other political leader since the dawn of time?  Unemployment is one of our key economic measurements and probably has a tighter correlation to votes than any other.  It is better under Trump than it has been in almost 70 years.  Is that ALL due to him?  Of course not.  But if he can't speak the the economic numbers under his presidency in a re-election campaign what can he speak to?  It's no more 'rhetoric' than any other politician uses in a re-election bid, is it?

No, it WAS better under Trump.  Now it's worse.  He can speak to the success he HAD, but the failure of the present will get thrown right back into his face.  And considering it's not what Americans are experiencing at this moment, when the election is taking place, it really is just "rhetoric".  It's not tangible for most of the country.

So you stopped for 15 minutes and then promptly starting banging your head against the wall yet again.  Take your own advice and stop.

LOL. I was in a 4 hour webinar about stuff I either already know or don't care about.

I'm done now though.

At least Snow can see that these numbers should be evaluated pre Covid.  You, I see are on a whole different level.

I'm on the level of the American people on this one.  No one cares about the way things were.  They care about how their lives are now.  Any other argument is based on wish casting, not reality.

back on the scotus...it's pretty rare that decisions are rendered strictly along lib vs conservative lines...and liberal justices are more likely to vote the same way than conservatives justices. that's what i read anyway.

That's fine if we're having a conversation about how people are going to vote, but it was more a conversation about his performance vs. his rhetoric.  At the end of the day though, I agree, all that really matters is what happens on November 3rd.

All that really matter is which votes are counted.

Where are federal agents with tear gas and mini vans when you need them?

"Correction: This article’s headline originally stated that People of Praise inspired ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’. The book’s author, Margaret Atwood, has never specifically mentioned the group as being the inspiration for her work,” the note read. "A New Yorker profile of the author from 2017 mentions a newspaper clipping as part of her research for the book of a different charismatic Catholic group, People of Hope. Newsweek regrets the error.”

"The clipping includes a spokesperson for the People of Hope sect based in Newark, New Jersey saying, ‘We’re all Roman Catholics. We differ in the sense that we are a Charismatic group, which would mean that we have prayer meetings, during which there is raising of hands, singing and speaking in tongues,'” the outlet notes. "People of Praise has never had a presence in the state of New Jersey.”

It’s almost like it’s a political tactic of the Democrats to fake these things, especially to prevent SCOTUS appointments.

They’re too busy dealing with the people literally burning down neighborhoods. Or at least, one would hope...

You think the pubic hair on a Coke can is a made-up story?  Because that’s so ridiculous that it must be true.

So was being attacked at 3 in the morning by people wearing MAGA hats getting doused in bleach and having a noose put around your neck while getting a subway sandwich, yet here we are.

Better attempt than the Russian agent Trump story, that’s for sure.

From a public speech in N.Y.:

On Presidential nominees in an election year - "The President doesn't stop being the President in an election year." - Ruth Bader Ginsburg

On the Senate confirming a SCOUTS nominee in an election year - "That's their job." - Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Her position and opinion is clear: Do your job!

Mr. President- Nominate!

U.S. Senate - Confirm or don't!

I agree with the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Except that advice wasn't followed in 2016.  Either one set of rules is true or the other set of rules is true.  It can't be both.  But it will be, which is why everything's on the table going forward.
