The way Duce has rotated RB's the last few seasons makes him seem like just as much of an idiot as Doug.  But hell, what do we have to lose?

Seriously? He's not rotating now in the sense of a RBBC. He's not because he's got a legit stud RB in Sanders.

Yeah I'm not saying he's doing it now.  I'm saying he's done it in the recent past no matter which back it is right when they get into a rhythm.

He did it because he didn't have a legit #1. Now he does and guess what? He's using him in that way.

Does anyone know if Duce has shown anything to the team in the way of creative play design and game strategy?  He's the asst HC.

We know he prepares the RB position and gets the most out of them.  We know Chip blamed the RB rotation on him and so has Doug.  But also when injuries have happened Duce has gone with a 1-2 punch.  They had traded for Jordan Howard last year and drafted Sanders.  Howard got hurt and Sanders emerged so there's no RBBC anymore, you have what most teams do which is a primary back and sprinkle in some others to give him a rest or for different play designs.  Boston Scott is Sproles-light and doing a good job in mixing things up but Sanders is dynamic.

I kind of prefer outside hires at coordinator and HC at this point if any changes are made but Duce can get an interview and chance to share his strategy for moving forward.

Why do people want to promote Duce when he has trouble managing the RB rotation?  Sanders tears up the Bengals and then doesn't see the field for almost a whole quarter.

That isn't Duce though. Doug went away from the run as he always does.

Duce was putting Clement and Scott in there for quite a while when Sanders was the only one having success. Doug calls passes, true, but Sanders on screens isn't a bad option, too.

Doug needs to do away with the screen. That play never ever works with this team.

It doesn't help matters when Carson can't throw a simple screen pass accurately, too. But, in the past, the screen has been a very effective part of this offense. The problem is half of our OL isn't good enough to get out there and block. Also, our young WRs aren't very good at blocking yet, too.

That this team has 15 Offensive coaches all with the title of offensive assistant muddies the identity of the offense.

Good teams in the league know who they are and what they do well when one has 15 different coaches with 15 different voices and input into the offense nothing is cohesive.

This team needs an OC, just 1.

Schwartz has obvious autonomy over the defense. He has say in personnel and it's his scheme and design with his players.

DP I have no idea what is has autonomy over other than holding a play chart put together by 15 coaches and called into by 10 staticians in the boothe😒 I've never seen such a dis jointed dysfunctional offense and I think it's a carry over to how convoluted the process is of have too many hands in the batter.

Not sure getting rid of Doug is going to matter if howie and Laurie keep the same set up with too many voices.

It's odd because after Reid had total organizational control then chip was given total control, howie instead of finding a happy medium has turned to a system where everyone has an equal voice which leads to just a lot of noise.

It's not surprising that Carson looks confused as he has 15 different Offensive assistants talking at him.

Clement and Scott each had only 3 carries.  Sanders ended up with 18.  Wondering if the lack of rushing attempts was due more to load management (since Sanders just returned a week earlier) or because neither Scott or Clement were very effective.  I wish Howard was still here serving as #2 (but also completely understand the decision to let him walk knowing our cap situation and what he got paid by Miami).  Hopefully they invest another draft pick at RB next April that can be more effective when spelling Sanders.

We used to be great at the screen with Westbrook.

No thanks. His horrible rotations speak volumes about his decision making. A bunch of other teams could have easily taken him as OC in previous and no one wants him.

That still doesn't excuse how he would pull Howard, Smallwood, Adams, Sproles etc when they were in a rhythm, stick a cold back in there that got stuffed and the drive would stall.

Exactly. Those are the types of situations where you see how good of a decision maker a coach is. He failed miserably with his "stick with the cold hand” approach.

Now his only option is Sanders, so there’s no decision to make. Anybody will give him the majority of the carries. That doesn’t make him a good decision maker.

No, I think what they need to do is shutdown the elaborate schemes and get Wentz back to a limited set like they did with Foles. They took a lot of the freedoms from the QB and were much better as a team. Right now even with constant revolving door at all positions, back to a scaled back playbook until we get some consistency at positions and what not.
