I dunno it's not got that much of a storyline (apparently Reynolds was lead writer on this one and for me that shows badly), it doesn't spend any time explaining what happened since the last one, or that much explaining why the underlying plot is happening in this one. It's like a Deadpool and Wolverine skit show, some of them are proper belly laugh funny, but overall it doesn't feel like a thought out movie, more a two hour long punchline for the Jackman / Wolverine references in the first two with an overload of fan service nods rather than a proper plot. It doesn't help that everyone has seen the Deadpool makes drugs and gay sex references schtick twice before and it really feels like Reynolds is forcing some of them by turning it up to eleven here. I didn't dislike it, it's just oddly underwhelming and not a patch on the first two. One of the proper reviews I saw accused it of disappearing up it's own self satisfied arse, and while I don't completely agree I can definitely see where he was coming from. The plot is almost irrelevant, it's just a vehicle to get Deadpool in a sandbox IMO.

Down to wolverine's cowl. Like I said, nostalgia circle jerk. The joke with that, is Channing Tatum has wanted to play a superhero for years. Hollywood hasn't cast him as anything. He loved Gambit and always wanted to do it. I took his performance in this as a joke, his accent was obviously terrible. This was the only way he was going to get to be Gambit, in the void wasteland in a Deadpool comedy.

They don't mention it in the article but I'd say that was a rumour. I read that he was fired from The Witcher for being physically and emotionally abusive to the other writers. So he seems to have a pattern of behaviour and is trying to go the Kevin Spacey route of I'm gay so it has to do with that and not what I actually did

August 23, 20241 yr There is a lot out there about what sort of person Beau DeMayo is - and the nude pics is part of it. It's all unconfirmed chatter, but the fact Disney got rid of him very quickly suggests it wasn't throwing a coffee cup or two. Big corps in that industry go to great lengths to protect their own. Crikey. A company as woke as Disney would not fire a gay writer for Pride posts. Like the NRA sacking someone who posting a shotgun on their socials.

There will probably be girl power/man bashing stuff in the show, then when it fails they'll blame men for being misogynists who didn't want to watch powerful women.

September 19, 2024Sep 19 i watched the first 2 episodes last night. if i hadnt seen things saying it was the "gayest" marvel show, i wouldnt really have even noticed. i mean, yeah the only main character male so far is a gay teen, but its not over the top. i dont have a problem with it yet. i can tell its going to be mostly a female lead show, but its about witches, so that kinda makes sense. as for the show, its kinda lame so far. ill keep watching it, probably, but i dont think im going to be waiting in anticipation for it every week
