from the trailers it could be paycheck or Air Force One level acting, nose out, every line spoked with a stiff jack, teeth clenched (get off my plane = you're no steve rogers) .

I think you're right.  I didn't realise that Ford was quite so 🖕 to some acting jobs. Why do they pay an old man to turn up and go through the motions?

I could have for sure. But I couldn't be bothered.

Speaking of can't be bothered. Will anyone go and watch the Captain America film? I'm kind of curious to see if Harrison Ford bothers to put any effort into his acting in this film, or if its just a pay check for him

My son (12) is excited about it. Don't know if we'll go opening weekend (Valentines Day really? ) but we'll go see it.

Name recognition, box office draw.

Also he's only a replacement since William Hurt died who played the role.

A lot of actors take roles for the paycheck, they do dumb commercials too.

Examples of roles where Ford just mailed it in?

The first Fantastic Four trailer is out this week.  I'm interested to see how it goes down in the real world, but the film supposedly is set in a side universe, so not directly correlated to or impacting of the current MCU timeline.

Apparently Deadpool was this whole time too.

Yeah, I'd heard the old Fox X-men Universe was a side one, hence why certain characters didn't interact in the Deadpool films.  The question will be an obvious, are they going to now merge them all together, especially if a certain Aussie actor feels like playing his character for a few more years.  That merge popped up in a Marvel TV series, I think?

Some info is coming out about the new Cap film. No spoilers

It sounds like an ok film that Harrison Ford actually seemed to give an eff about his performance.  Mackie is decent too. And for those will small bladders, its not a long film

We'll probably see it this weekend, because my son wants to see it in theaters. I'm not sure I would myself, I would maybe wait for Disney+. Same with Thunderbolts. I'm just not excited about the newer Marvel movies anymore. I hope it's good, and that they explain why Bruce doesn't show up to fight the Red Hulk. I guess he's off planet visiting his baby mama.

I've had no desire to go see many, if any, Marvel movies in the theaters recently but, for some reason, I think I'd like to go see the new CA. Maybe I'm just desperate for something better than the crap they've been putting out.

This move was great… to take several micronaps throughout. The Eagles Super Bowl victory still lingers!

The new Cap is entertaining. Some of the best action stuff was in the trailer. But still decent. Very far fetched plot though.

Harrison Ford must've had a lot of energy drinks, cocaine, or thought he was on the Set of Air Force One again. He definitely didn't phone it in.

I saw a lot of complaining about the bad/inconsistent CGI on the film and how a certain actor/character was wasted in the screentime they got - a missed opportunity..  I'm glad Ford did a good job tho - I've heard he was good in the Taylor Sheridan TV series with Helen Mirren.

I'm interested to see what they cut out from the initial film that was deemed internally as unwatchable

Well, the CGI was fine. This was a basic, mid MCU movie, what you'd expect. (The particular screen I saw it in had issues, the film was a bit grainy and the top portion had this plasma like cloud or something moving. It was kind of distracting. They shot the movie in IMAX, I saw it in regular. The same theater I always go to and it's always good, so this was unusual.) Ford as Red Hulk looked good. They did some cool action sequences with Sam's new suit and gadgets, and also had scenes he was forced to fight without the suit (like Iron Man 3) where he got to prove himself. I was half expecting him to say "I can do this all day" lol.

I don't remember the specific complaints during production, but this movie is not "woke" as some would complain. Sam is the moral compass and has high integrity and character, but not preachy. Like Steve, he is promoting doing the right thing. The end of the TV show he got really preachy, sympathized with the terrorists and told the politicians to "do better." That kind of thing isn't in this one. I think people will be pleased with the approach vs the show.  The acting was all pretty good for a mid MCU movie. It's got some Captain America: Winter Solder vibes as far as spy, military type missions, espionage, political stuff.

The enemy plot is very much like Baron von Zemo in Civil War or Lex Luthor in Batman v. Superman. I'm sure the YouTube creators will do the same run down of all the coincidences that had to fall in line for the plot to go the way it did.

They did not do a mid-credits scene (like the quick one after the initial credits). They only did a post-credit at the very end. They had a trend for awhile of doing both. The post-credit scene isn't good and not worth it.

great, thanks for ruining my expectations of the movie.

I can spoil it if you like to save you about 7 minutes of sitting there watching credits.

I saw some screenshots on X about the CGI being bad in places, but I ain't gonna pay £15+ to confirm 😂.

This film was reportedly quite political/progressive at one point as a follow on from the TV program but I'm glad that got removed and the film is just an ok mid level MCU sort of film.  Some times all you need to fill your hunger is some fast food.

I am looking forward to Daredevil.  I pray to the baby Jeebus that is good.  Just rewatching the Netflix series on Blu Ray to get caught up!
