Could We Be Targeting NE CB Stephon Gilmore?

Recommended Posts

There appears to be rumors that NE is willing to shop CB Stephon Gilmore.  There are further  (rumors?) (speculation?) that we may be interested in swinging a deal for him by the trade deadline.

Ertz for Gilmore ... what say you?  Imagine Gilmore and Slay together.  :o

Ertz cannot be traded how many times does that have to be stated?

Same reaction I had in the "I want" section. Would be amazing. But can't do anything with Ertz.

Focus on the trading for Gilmore part ... not the Ertz part.

And from what I’ve read, Ertz can be traded.  It would be at the other team’s risk (which makes it unlikely but not impossible).

Even if he could be traded, I'd so nope.

Howie is Puss when it comes to really making a deal for an impact player. Gun shy, because he hasn't figured out the casualties for the cap next season etc. I do believe he, will figure it out though, he always does.

Everything I have read says he can not be traded.

There we go let's trade for another 30 year old corner when they are no where close to competing this year

How do you know? We are slowly getting healthier. Wentz is improving every week, getting more comfortable with the WRs. Having another legit CB would help tremendously. I know I know, LB are trash. Every team has a weakness somewhere. At this point anything is possible with this team.

It is but, I'm not willing to get that carried away. I had this team going 11-5 this year do what the hell do I know? I just don't feel positive enough at this point to dump assets for a 30 year old corner hoping we go on a hot streak.

1st Why isn’t this in IWTETG section? 2nd It’s never gonna happen. 3rd This team with all of its cap drama will not be trading for high priced contracts. They need draftpicks themselves.

Agreed but, we have homers and that is fine to believe in this team. I just rather not this year lol. I did before the season started

The Eagles don’t have the ammo to make this type of move. Howie would much rather use a first on a cricket player than to use that pick to get a star.

I think OP meant Sudfeld instead of Ertz.

If theres a team that would love some obscure QB in the league and possibly be right it might be the Pats.

Sudfeld and a 3rd. Do it.

Either way it would end bad lol. We have seen how the mid season trades have gone for them. I rather he doesn't bother doing that anymore

Not to mention that I would never trust doing a deal with the Patriots.

Most trade rumors just link the Eagles to it, cause it’s a good way to get some easy clicks. The Eagles generally don’t make moves like this.

Meh, I'm ok with that. They are basically done and bill will be looking to dump everything at this point looking for another diamond in the rough at QB

I don’t trust them. The Eagles would give up too much and he’d end up on the Covid list as soon as he got here or something. The Pats are just too shady for me.

Also agreed

Under other circumstances it could be an interesting deal. As it is, the only trades I support are those that garner the Eagles draft picks.

Without knowing his contract situation, I was thinking if he could be had for pennies on the dollar, it would be a good investment for the next couple of years.  Admittedly I did not know he was 30 but still, if he can pair with a similarly aged Slay for 2-3 years to hold down the position while we (hopefully) start grooming some young players, then depending on the price, it could be worth it.  Gilmore is leagues better than anyone else not named Slay on this roster.
