That deep bomb to Quez today, he again under threw it, if that was Vick or McNabb that would be a TD....

Doesn’t matter who’s the QB if the Oline can’t block, the WR’s can’t get open, the coaches can’t coach and the GM can’t identify talent.

  • So we had to listen to an entire week of "He runs too much".   What will the talking points be this week?  Jalen and this Team can win in multiple ways.  Stop trying to put him in some box where he on

Yeah quite possibly but then we are banging the drum on the same weaknesses aren't we? We know he doesn't have a huge arm. We know his arm isn't nfl elite.

How'd he do against Alabama? Dropped his yards per attempt by about 5 didn't he? This isn't a great Alabama defense.

He completed 14 whole passes against Arkansas.

What about his performance against the mighty Austin Peay Governors? QBR of 54, so in a way you are right he apparently can't beat up on small schools either.

Did you see those 14 passes against Arkansas? No of course not. You're just gonna argue with me even if I say water is wet so why waste my time?  BTW those 14 completions were not a five yard Hurts special. They were actually mostly big boy throws. Ones Hurts can't really make. Hurts is never going to be an above average starter.

Not buying the specific criticism, once again. It's funny how supposedly perfect McNabb is all of a sudden after a career full of worm genocide and constant criticism of not coming up clutch in the 4th quarter in games we were trailing.

Also, both McNabb and Vick took time to develop into the best version of themselves as a passer. They didn't just step on to the field and make every play in their first few years. Good defensive play bailed out McNabb many a time.

I don't disagree.

Hurts doesn’t even have the arm to make all the throws, unlike mcnabb and Vick.  Neither McNabb nor Vick were good enough anyway.

Actually Jaguars, Jets, Dolphins, Patriots, Bucs, and Steelers all run the ball less than the Eagles somehow

Its because of it counting Hurts running the ball.

If you look at designed run plays for the running backs we are one of if not the worst in the league.

Hurts > any 2022 QB draft prospect.

Now when it comes to the 2023 QB prospects, now we're talking.

Even Minshew is better then any of the 2022 QB prospects. Which is more then likely why they made the trade. Opens up a option if for some crazy reason they land Watson(If he agrees to come to Philly) and he is suspended for the year.

Me personally, I would draft a QB every year in the 3rd to 6th round to always have one in the pipeline and increase your rate of success. Esp with the contracts these days with QBs. If you hit on a QB you are set for 2-3 years until you want to trade them to avoid the massive contract extension. During that time you are still drafting a QB in the mid/late rounds to build on.

The true QB factory method.

I'm not sold that Hurts is our long-term solution at QB -- and I genuinely hope I'm wrong.

Hurts has a bad game, but fought through it against a tough defense and came back to win the game. His haters say he stinks though. In 2019 those same haters blamed everyone but Wentz when he stunk it up for back to back games against the Pats and the Seahawks at home! I’m not even gonna get into 2020 and how they’re still making excuses for that trash we saw at quarterback. Keep on hatin fellas.

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!!

And I think if Hurts can be good enough to make this team competitive (not contenders) then that's enough. If he can be good enough to allow this roster to be rebuilt around him.

Basically he needs to be good enough to mean we don't go for a QB in next year's draft.

We need to see more of Hurts to say we might need to draft a QB agree we you .

As things stand I don't think we need to panic and draft a QB next year... That's as things stand.

Vick had the natural canon arm that Hurts just doesn’t (you’re the one that brought up a Vick comparison)

Next time read the original post (not my post quoted by someone else) and see the post I quoted and responded to --- in order to see who brought up what.

Here's the post I quoted:

As for Hurts, I'm not sure we've seen all he can do yet. I know we saw him put 60 (air) yards on a ball earlier this season. As far as deep passes go, not many QBs break that mark. So if we're criticizing his arm on deep passes, I think that's absurd. If we're criticizing his timing, placement, or accuracy on them, then that is certainly warranted. What we have yet to see from him is a lot of moderately deep passes on a rope --- the kind of throws Vick, McNabb, Elway and even Wentz did a couple times a game. It doesn't appear to be his style, but that doesn't necessarily mean he can't make those throws. It probably has more to do with avoiding risky throws in tight windows. I would imagine that if he can make those throws, we'll start seeing them as he gets more comfortable as a player.

You need to take a look around the league, it happens often, every week.

I'll tell you what, he need to cut the arsehole superman BS.

Why does he?

I think that‘s bs.

Haven‘t we seen him throw it deep enough now? It needs improvement, but that has nothing to do with his arm, no matter how often idiots like BLG say so.

Ummm, because he's not superman?

I don't think it's BS. I don't think he has an elite arm.

Im certainly not sold on Hurts. But saying after 6 games or whatever that he cant throw deep as well as McNabb, a borderline HOFer, or Michael Vick, one of the strongest throwing arms maybe ever, is kind of crazy.

McNabb maybe but not Vick. Vick had a lot of faults but his arm was a cannon

if you cant step into throws unless you are Mahomes, Allen or Rogers most of the time the ball will be underthrown,  I am just happy it got that far haha.

one thing is he is learning to be a QB in the NFL, when to throw hard or one to lay soft (the pass to Dallas near the goal line).  Hope he can learn from experience, or else he will be a great back up like a charlie batch type.  just my opinion

We've seen him under throw deep plenty this season.

There is more to arm strength than how far he can throw a ball.
